  • A demo of the tool I developed: github.com/ckc...
It allows streaming raw audio from stdin to discord via a bot, and in this demo I am using parec (manpages.debia...) to take the input from my turntable and pipe it to stdinman.
The latency is approximately 1 second.

Maybe im misisng something but how is this much different from just creating a virtual loopback or jsut straight up using the audio in as a microphone input?

Good question! A virtual mic means I would need to use my account to play the audio, so I could no longer speak.
Though there are ways to mix two inputs into one, if I disconnected or something it would kill the music.
This way, it is through a bot. The additional benefit is it can play any audio from stdin, so it's very compostable to just spin up a VPS, use stdinman with ffmpeg + internet radio or something and get a stream into a discord channel.
The GitHub has some more examples
