I started up again recently after about a decade. I chose a dwarf guardian this time around and am leveling using the Blue trait line. I could probably handle about 8-10 mobs solo as long as they don’t stun. It’s slower than the Red trait line or most other classes, but I enjoy it.
I started a new Captain in a Solo playtrough and I’m really happy with him. The damage ist great and I don’t have any problems to fight 5-6 enemies at a time and killing them easily. I’m always using the damage buff from my companion. I think I will do an Elven Hunter or Hobbit warden as the next char
I still dabble in LOTRO - it's a fine balancing act between indulging in a bit of leveling here and there and suddenly losing hours I should should have used writing.
Not sure if you played beorning, I have since it came out, even a year ago, it wasn't just "decent", it was amazing and still is for solo. The survivability is absurd in blue and yellow. The dps in blue is better than other tank classes. The red line is crazy dps now, not as much then, but it was decent, though survivability was lower since they didn't move recuperate to the bottom of blue until a handful of months ago. Beorning, after warden if you know how to play it, is hands down the best solo class for tough soloing. I'm not talking about landscape that any class can do and hunter is best at, I mean, actually soloing content like delvings, fellowship quests, skirmishes etc etc.
Question: Can I switch between servers? Or am I stuck on one once I create my character? I am planning to play the game with a relative, so it would be good to know if I need to ask him what server he is on ahead of time.
great video! i've never played this game but decicded to give it a go since its f2p. the only issue i have is that every 20seconds or so, the game music or sound in general seems to reset and it causes my game to stutter for a second. i've tried to find a solution to fix this but nothing seems to work. no other game i have does this, its only lotro. any tips to get it fixed? its quite annoying
They have some optimization issues here and there, unfortunately. The music hitching is something known, but I've never heard of anyone having it every 20 seconds or so. In my own case, and those of my brother and folks we regularly play with, it's more of a once-every-15 or 20 minutes kind of thing. I've seen it go away completely after one patch, only to return three patches later. I don't know that anyone has ever pinpointed what it relates to =P
@@Renfail ah interesting. yea its legit every 20seconds or so it happens. ill still play it but its quite annoying it happens so often. ill try and keep digging and see if i can find a solution. im going Hunter btw :)
@@Renfail bttw, after spending all day yesterday researching i think i found a fix for the sound/stutter. if you want to try it out or tell yours and lotro community, for me was having to disable "Microsoft Device Association Root Enumerator" in device manager, under "Software Devices."
Playing Red line as Guardian is better for shield or two handed weapon? And second question if I play a Red line what skills from other Lines should I choose?
I was wondering why I wasn't getting your videos popping up on my feed and I guess my wife had started using my UA-cam account and she had like I don't know 150 subscriptions to different channels and so hardly ever got any of yours. I just changed that, so hopefully, I'll be able to stay up-to-date on my buddy again.
So if you want to try tanking (or have the option later), or want something just super simple: Guardian If you aren't interested in tanking or survivability but prefer utility like fast traveling and still relative simplicity: Hunter If you want to heal at all, or just want versatility: Minstrel If you want something a little more complex but still has good solo viability with a pet tank: Lore-Master If you have a group to run with and want a more damage/less tank focused Guardian: Champion ...that about the summary of it?
Really enjoyed this video - for new players this resource is going to be really good.
Cheers!
Me with 2600 hrs played. I need to watch this!
I'm probably over the 10,000 hour mark by this point
Thanks for this man. I'm actually getting back into the game and stumbled across your video. I didn't realize you played LOTRO also.
Indeed I do :)
Interesting. Got this randomly in my feed and actually might give this a try. Haven't played an mmo in many many years.. Thanks.
Hope you enjoy!
Appreciate the guide man! New player as of yesterday!
Glad I could help!

burglar could be fun to solo level with since he can sneak around everywhere, through mobs and quest areas without fighting through them all !
yep!
Brawlers fall somewhere between Guardian and Champion - they aren't too complex, they're tough, and it's fun to punch monsters in the face.
yeah!

This is the class I'm interested in. I'm downloading it now.

you can pay to switch, yes. It's a premium service option.
May god bless all of you

Shield. And second question is up to you

I like my dwarf guardian its fun to play.

Is that list from the video valid?
1. Guardian
2. Hunter
3. Ministrel
4. Loremaster
It's about a year old, but still valid based on the way I play.
