    Some context: the drummer is from the U.S. and married with a mexican woman. Some years passed and they had a baby girl, once trying to fly to the u.s. customs checked her daughter because they tought they were going with drugs just because his wife and daughter where mexican, so Randy (the drummer) got so pissed for that that he made this song out of anger.

    Bro it's deep... it's just really talking about how mexicans struggled a lot risked their lives to get where theyre at, left soo much behind and still have to put up with racism and so the border patrol calling them names and they're defending themselves by talking back... let me translate a quote " could you imagine from the outside being a Mexican crossing the border thinking about your family as you pass, leaving everything you know behind, if you had to dodge the bullets from a couple cowboy gringos you wouldn't call us good for nothing wet backs if you had to start from zero." Doesn't translate well but that's a line from the song lol

      The context of the song is due to the bad experience that the Molotov drummer had when he went to visit the United States to visit his parents. The airport authorities checked his 2-year-old daughter because they did not believe he had American nationality when the drummer is of American nationality and the mother is Mexican and the drummer's anger was that he made the song to protest what Mexicans experience with the racism that they confront every day with many American authorities day by day.

    Just so you know this song was written by a member of the group who went on vacation to the USA with his wife and his daughter (a baby), he said that the border police made fun of them and did not even believe that his wife had a visa for having very "Mexican" features, he even says that his daughter was checked as if she were an adult.

    Hi, i´m a sociologist, not that it matters but it helps with the understanding of the song's message, the guy in the truck starts complaining about the stereotypes that the gringos impose on his person just because of his etnic origin, he complains also about the criminal activities that they associate with him just because of his appeareance like the drug dealing and he makes an argument that in few words says that "even if that were true, you (the gringos) are the buyers and consumers", then he references the disregard for human live from the U.S. government fabricating wars in foreign countries just to make profit out of it and all the money they get from the debts that the U.S. make the mexican government pay by feeding the corruption in the country and within the mexican government. Then comes the chorus that is no more than the two sides cursing each other using the "beaner" and the "gringo" concepts, "beaner" because generally speaking the beans is one of the most consume foods by the latinoamerican community (latinoamerican it's every person born in the american continent that comes from an etnic group that speakes a language deravitave from the latin), "gringo" is a word originated from the greek, the original word was grigo and the original meaning was a reference to someone greek, but beacuse of the context the meaning change slowly, let me explain, the romans and their decendants always struggle with the greek language beacuse of the sounds and the writing, so it become very common to say that something was written in greek or someone was a greek when it was hard to understand the language it was written or the person's spoke language, so they said "this is grigo", "that's grigo" also the word have a somewhat social diminishful connotation because it was use in the same way the old greeks used the word "barbaros" that means barbarians, the spanish carry the word with them and in México change the word and some of the concept context, the word change to "gringo" and now still has that "barbarians" connotation and it's use to reference every individual that speakes an anglo-saxon derivative language that acts alienated from the latinoamerican cultures. Then comes a rap lyric that makes references about the hard life of the U.S. inmmigrants that cross the border illegally crossing thru the river, that's why the gringos call them "wetbacks", also talks about how they are always harass in U.S. soil and at the end complains about the gringos claiming U.S. soil as their property and acting like tyrants talking about rights to the land saying "get out of my land", "go back to mexico, china, middle east, etc..." making an argument that talks about how in the past the U.S. government manipulate things and took the president Santa Ana hostage and forced the México government to sell half the country to the U.S. for a ridicule low cost and if the argument of "I'm american, I born here, I worked this lands, it's my right to claim this land" was used by the mexicans it turns out that mexicans have more rights to that land than the gringos, but mexicans don't use that argument because to them makes no sense, but they are tired of being harass and tired of listen those stupid arguments, so that's why the latinoamericans sometimes turn hostile to the gringos.
    Edit: Also the accent that they use to speak in spanish it's a mock of how the gringos speak spanish.

      Hey brother you're wrong about the term Gringo, Green go is a phrase that According to Mexican history, americans were using while the occupation From September 1847 to June 1848, history says that when american troops were invading Mexico city, they were marching while chanting this stuff: GREEN GO, making reference to all of them wearing green uniforms and entering into The Mexican capital city, then we Mexicans started to repeat those word: Green go, Gringo and associated it to the americans. I found pretty accurate everything thing else that you wrote.

      @@badass8350 I know about the things that the elementary and secondary school teach in México, I lived that education myself. They also teach about the "child" heroes that are a missconception because of the concept Infant refering to the Infantery, also they weren't real, in the dictatorship of Diaz the governement just pull up some names and made up that story, it's the same with a lot of national heroes and even with religous figures like the Virge de Guadalupe. The history that schools teach us in the basic levels are half true, half lies, that applies very well to the gringo word, thare are other theories about it, but the grigo one is the most accepted in the academy for now. The same happens with every country, just to say an example that honestly isn't surprising, in the elementary schools of the U.S. the children think that the U.S. government was so rich and benevolent that saved the texans from an entire army and then forgive them and pay them a very worthy fortune to buy half the country and this evil army accepted willingly.

      @@cosa689 I understand you are very prepared in history, but I might tell that the word "gringo" actually comes from the american troops reaching Mexico city. Just to make it a bit more realistic, I really don't think mexican people were aware of roman/greek problems, it's just a matter of looking at the mean education those years. And yes, I might accept that the story of the "niños héroes" is just not so historically well recorded. Nevertheless, it is important to point out that this story is based on some true facts in mexican history, like Margarito Zuazo, or (even if this is more in mexican independence war) Juan Valdivia, or even "la guanajuateña". Let's say that "niños héroes" is a story for kids, being a summary of other real characters in mexican history, although the real history is never taught at elementary or secondary school.

    • @cosa689
      @cosa689 2 роки тому +2

      @@joseaguilera6825 The people don't need to be aware where the words come from to use them, it's like the word "ojalá" that is used with the meaning "I hope for" but etymologically means "for Allah" and México it's not a muslim nation, so like I already explained, "gringo" is a word that etymologically can be traced back to the roma empire and there could be other explanations about it, but this is the more accepted at the moment and to be realistic the U.S. troops uniform in the U.S.-México war was blue not green.

    In 2003 George W. Bush was president of the USA and in a speech he referred to Mexican immigrants as "frijoleros", a very derogatory term, and well, this was Molotov's response to that speech 😅

      Eso es falso. El término es viejisimo y Bush nunca lo usó públicamente.

      Jajajaja no te inventes historias, un presidente por más pendejo qué este jamás usaría ese término en un speech político. Esta canción tiene una historia completamente diferente y tiene que ver con un integrante de la banda

    Si al baterista lo trataron mal los oficiales de migración, pues no es necesario hacer una canción, es puro morbo; en general, los trámites burocráticos en dependencias estadounidenses son muy ágiles y te tratan con mucho respeto, mucho mejor organizados y amables que los trámites burocráticos aquí en México; sin embargo, en todo el mundo hay gente c*lera, y quizá uno de éstos le tocó al baterista, pero ya hasta escribir una canción, es muy exagerado, sólo quiere vender morbo esta banda amarillista. A mí me han asaltado, y no por eso digo que todos los mexicanos son unos l*cras. Sería más representativa una canción de los cientos de mexicanos que les autorizan la visa de turista, y mejor se quedan en EUA como indocumentados, eso sí es un engaño, y nos crea mala fama a todos los mexicanos que hacemos las cosas bien, siguiendo reglas y acatando los lineamientos. Y luego todavía los mexicanos nos admiramos: ¿porqué le piden tantas cosas a los mexicanos para visitar EUA?, porque hay muchos mexicanos que mienten y se quedan a vivir en EUA sin permiso. No ocurre eso de que: los oficiales de migración son los irrespetuosos y los mexicanos son los que reciben todos los agravios, no es así. Hay de todo, hay que hablar con objetividad: también hay mexicanos que no respetan las reglas, como también, en general, la gente de EUA es amigable y trabajadora, como aquí en México.

    Molotov está sobrevalorado. Realmente no vale la pena escuchar este tipo de canciones. Osea, los de Molotov pensaron ¿Qué canción podemos crear de manera de sea polémica, se hable de nosotros y se venda como pan caliente? Pues fácil: hagamos otra canción donde le tiremos m*erda a los políticos. Siempre hace lo mismo Molotov. Estas canciones no son nada innovadoras, ni revolucionarias. Molotov se cuelga de la fama de personas famosas: habla de Echeverría, de Lopez Portillo, de Miguel de la Madrid, de Zedillo, de Fox, de Felipe Calderón, de Peña Nieto, de AMLO, del PRI, de Televisa, de artistas de televisión, de actrices, de otras bandas de Música (escuchen la canción de Lagunas Mentales), Molotov no aporta nada nuevo, es la misma basura reciclada de siempre. Molotov se parece al cantante Martín Ricca, que hizo una canción donde habla de Britney Spears, no, Molotov está peor, porque ellos han hecho muchísimas canciones donde le tiran m*erda a gente famosa: políticos, empresarios, artistas, otros músicos. Molotov tiene de revolucionario lo que yo tengo de militar espartano: NADA. A Molotov sólo le interesa crear morbo, ser noticia y lucrar con esto. Además, seamos sinceros, sus canciones son pésimas, hasta yo puedo escribir mejores canciones si me decido. ¿No me creen?, vean esta basura de párrafos de algunas de sus canciones: ¿Por qué tendremos que tirar buen pedo?, If you know what they wanna they just want your tepalcuana mana, Amo a mahtón Matarile al mhhhricón, tengo lagañas tienes a tu gente diciendo patrañas m*ldito Jacobo chismoso. Jajajajaj pura basura podrida escriben estos tipejos de Molotov. Además combinan un slang English con el español, se ve y se escucha horrible. De seguro ha de ser ese baterista el que recomienda las palabras de inglés callejero que utilizan. No tiene nada de meritorio escribir canciones en donde le tiras m*erda a famosos, si realmente quisieran protestar, pues que hagan algo, que ayuden a personas, que hagan un mitin, que reclamen injusticias con la gente. Estos pseudo músicos ganan millones del país donde gobiernan aquellos que tanto critican. Estos músicos realmente no son buenos, cantan horrible, parece que están rezando, no es rap, ni rock, nada, sólo tiran m*erda. Sólo hablan tonterías, si yo quisiera escuchar lenguaje de barrio, pues mejor me voy a la esquina y allí escucho a los verdaderos mexicanos que son los que sufren estos pésimos gobiernos. Molotov no es nadie, Molotov no es revolucionario. Si fueran revolucionarios y estuvieran en contra los los pésimos gobiernos, pues deberían cambiarse de nombre. Molotov fue un funcionario de los más cercanos a Stalin, y este dictador no se andaba con bromas. Y ahí anda Molotov con sus disque canciones revolucionarias, cuando utilizan el apellido de un político mano derecha de Stalin. Que incongruencia. Y aunque se enojen y me insulten esta es la verdad: Esta canción nueva (no olvidamos) está muy aburrida, suena así: tata tata tata tata... y se repite. Tienen más emociones los mensajes en altavoz de un centro comercial. He escuchado decenas de mejores canciones y rimas con los raperos que se juntan en parques públicos. Y para terminar, se plagiaron el coro de la cumbia: Que levante la mano, de los Ángeles de Charly. Hasta copiones salieron.
