Damn, it seems Hisahide's view on treasure is the same as a classic hero view on it but twisted, that being treasure isn't just gold or valuables, but the meaning and significance behind it or a non physical thing entirely (see One Piece for other examples), some treasures he stole that fit this are Hideyoshi's Idealism, Mitsuhide's identity and now Mitsunari's bond with both his Gyobu Yoshitsugu and his rival Ieyasu. For all Mitsunari's talk about bonds being useless, it seems he relied the most on them out of anyone ever Ieyasu himself. I believe that makes Hisahide an excellent villain.
Best part being that his "villain" reputation is exaggerated for both this series & Sengoku Musou (though clearly in different ways). In actual history, the real Hisahide was no more of a "villain" than many other daimyo of his time (including Nobunaga & Shingen).

Hisahide doesn't know about the former ruler Hideyoshi Toyotomi? I suppose after his defeat against Kojuro at Todai-ji, he became a hermit, like Tsuruhime. Also, yeah I'm calling him "Hisahide", his given name. I know, everyone, including Xaldin, calls him by his surname, to amplify his antagonist vibes. But I think it would be too inconsistent, to make exceptions for him only.
I think Matsunaga was in hell at the time. In the SB anime, when he shows up in Season 2, he tells Kojuro he "grew bored of hell and so came back to the world of the living". And with his third stage coming up, we see him just waltz into Nobunaga's realm, so that's apparently just a thing he can do. I rewatched all his scenes in the anime to get a better feel for him, especially since that's the only time he's had his dialogue ever officially translated into English, so I followed that as an example. And yeah, I dunno why I lean towards calling him Matsunaga. I guess I've done it for so long it just feels more natural now.
@@Xaldin007 I rewatched the anime and Hisahide refers to Hideyoshi only as "Toyotomi", so I think Hideyoshi purposefully withheld his other name from him. Only when Mitsunari talks about "Lord Hideyoshi", he might have remembered Keiji uttering the name. And he didn't come back from hell like Nobunaga. When Hisahide encountered Yukimura in the ruins of Azuchi Castle, he revealed that he prepared a secret passage at Todai-ji. And his line to Kojuro about the netherworld not having much noteworthy treasure most likely means that the only things he found at Azuchi were Nobunaga's skull and an insane Oichi. And I don't blame you for not calling him "Hisahide". Every other character just calls him "Matsunaga", again, probably to emphasize his role as a villain of history.
Ah, I guess I missed the scene with him at Azuchi, I was just skipping through episodes until I saw him. The last scene I saw was him talking about getting Nobunaga's skull and peacing out with Kotaro after he came back from stealing a sword from Hideyoshi.
Will be the cheat to play as Area Warlords in Sengoku Basara 3 Utage ? They are Harumasa Nanbu, Yoritsuna Anegakoji, Hirotsuna Utsunomiya, Haruhisa Amago and Yoshishige Satake.
