I agree with you about fast sampling and being able to “chop” your start and end points individually just by tapping with your finger. Would make things a lot faster, and faster means less chances of losing your inspiration before you can get the idea laid down. However, TE has always been about doing things their own way, and they often have weird somewhat obtuse methods for doing things that eschew more traditional, tried-and-true ways of working with sound. Whether that’s a good or bad thing is subjective. Personally I love the OP1 and I think it’s a modern classic that is super fun to make music with, but I’ve definitely had moments with it that were frustrating because of the idiosyncratic way it forces me to work. Great video, thanks for sharing your workflow.
SUPER WELL SAID! everytime i see someone comment something like this it inspires me to tap back into using the OP-1 standalone. Currently I have been using it pretty exclusively as a recorder connected to my digital piano and live recording ideas etc. during livestreams and it's become quite invaluable in that set up! :)
@@Khordmaster I love that! It really is a great little 4 track recorder, since the built in mic is so good and you can easily slice things up and move them around in the tape area. I made a really cool little jam this morning with piano and marimba, just using the OP1 mic to record it and messing around with loop points. Hours of my day just gone hahaha
same! and yeah I do know about that lift and paste into sampler, but how do you do that so that it is on a clean sample? right now it seems to paste it at the end of a drum sample thats already there I think
I hear you man. I wonder if it's more of a thing where its for the same reason they don't have undo. making us experience these workflows from the past. for better or worse
It’s tedious process but different processes or methods produce different results. Just look at the op 1 brand period people like for its weirdness and limitations….. it’s a whole different process.
thanks for watching! what's been inspiring you lately?

idk if I missed it in the video but you can lift your loop from the tape and then drop it into the drum sampler to slice it up!
I wish there was a quick way to change the volume, pitch, and playback mode quickly across all slices though

it pastes it at the beginning, but it doesn't really bother me, you can just play only the first keys
Got ya! I’ll mess around with it some more! Thanks for the tip
Can you make a video of different chord progressions or whatever in chords just using the Op-1
Great idea!
Dope
thanks!
TE needs to update the chopping on OP-1 Field. Its $2k. Come on man
I hear you man. I wonder if it's more of a thing where its for the same reason they don't have undo. making us experience these workflows from the past. for better or worse
They added it to the new EP-133. Hopefully the og/Field gets it in an update.
The new merge drop definitely breaks that workflow from the past rule @@Khordmaster
