      This reporter is ten times tougher than haystacks. First of all...Giant Haystacks couldn't have handled a gentle body slam outside of the ring let alone in a soft and spongey Springey bouncy pro wrestling ring. He slammed this guy as hard as he could on hard ground. Big difference.

    • @rodzor

      Anyone would get hurt being slammed onto a hard floor like that, that isn't pro wrestling, that is a huge man forcefully throwing a small man onto the ground.

      The wrestlers you mentioned went for easy targets and non fighters, who all advised that wrestling was scripted. They were not wrong.
      The part that needed mentioning is the entertainment side, the risks wrestlers take and the athleticism required to do their jobs. It's a balanced argument.

    • @fenrifegads5571
      @fenrifegads5571 3 місяці тому

      The moral of the story, it seems, is that you can use violence to enforce your views on others.
      Because nothing in this video or the instances you reference does anything to counter the claim that wrestling is fake.
      Which is it. Obvioulsy.
      Yes it is physically demanding. So is paving driveways. But if I said to you "hey man an alien put that driveway in but I fought him off with my laser beam eyes so you are safe now" the fact that putting the driveway in requires physical exertion doesn't in any way change the fact that I am lying and my story is fake.
      Wrestling, as referenced, is not simply the physicallity of the actions. It's supposedly a sport. But it has pre-determined outcomes and rehearsed matches.
      We also say that, for example, Die Hard is fake. It didn't really happen. John Mcclaine doesn't even exist. He's just a character Bruce Willis plays. But it still was hard work for Mr Willis to do all those things he did in the film. Doesn't make it real.
      Why then do wrestling fans need to cling to the belief that it's not fake? Is it because, otherwise, you would have to come to terms with the fact that you enjoy a very sophomoric and low-brow soap opera as if it was mana from heaven?

Giant Haystacks was obviously the heel and Martin had that look which fitted being a heel perfectly. I’d suggest this clip looks like a receipt (pay back) possibly for something previously said on or off air.
    Shirley Crabtree (Big Daddy) on the other hand only interacted with people when the publicity suited him, otherwise he had no time for anyone, he did have quite an ego and liked things done his way so random fans trying to get autographs and photos were not his thing.

      He asked for it. This was back when wrestlers protected the business and weren’t showing people safe ways to do moves and expose themselves

    Does this prove that pro wrestling isn't fake? No. Haystacks slammed the guy down on a hard floor much harder than pro wrestlers ever get slammed in a ring. And if a slam takes place on a hard floor outside of the ring, they're careful to barely drop them at all because no one wants to get slammed on a hard floor. Haystacks only proved that you can get hurt in pro wrestling if you're not careful.

    That was not even a full rotation bodyslam, it was intended to hurt the guy with maximum result. Well karma got this walking tub of poo decades later as Big Show beat him senseless

      Not really. It was fixed and scripted. Not much you can do to a man that size certainly a few over the top slaps wouldn’t hurt him much. This guy was a true war horse but not well enough to continue thusly he was scripted out of wcw
