Hi, when you come down the pinnacle and I noticed you said you skirt round the side up the scree slope. There is a gap in the crest of the ridge hidden, you can climb up which is far more enjoyable.
Good video, but as long as you’ve done a few scrambles before, you should be okay. Agreed it looks intimidating but take it step by step and it is a doddle. I was intimidated doing it under ice ( having already done it in normal conditions twice) but fortunately I had a friend with me who is one of those people who makes everyone calm. Often, it is the appearance of things and there was a party doing it with ropes, which may have been advisable for the inexperienced, but it made me think it was far more difficult than it was. I actually always found Bristly Ridge easier than Tryfan . On Bristly Ridge the route is obvious whereas on Tryfan, you can get off the main route easily and get into situations where you need upper body strength although better climbers than me would say that is just a lack of good footwork. Also, if you have walked from Ogwen , you are warmed up by the time you get to Bristly Ridge. On Tryfan your feet early on in the day , to use a comparison with batting in cricket, may not be moving quite right.
Great video of the gap. Thanks!
Nice detail of the route (well done both ) on climbing Bristly ridge 🏔👍😊
Best wishes Simon
Thanks 🙏🏼

Yes, skirt the side if you're not comfortable. Totally agree the gap by the hug stone which leads to the continuation is far more enjoyable
Awesome 👍
This is a nice route in winter snow.
Just done it in frosty conditions, video soon

Thanks, agree with it being straightforward. It's with a lot of scrambles, it looks worse than it is. However it is good to be cautious.
