  • Do you want to reduce road noise and improve car audio quality in your Porsche Cayenne? In this video, we will show you how to soundproof a Porsche Cayenne using the best car sound deadening materials and techniques.
Soundproofing a car can make a huge difference in the comfort and enjoyment of your ride. It can reduce external noise from the engine, tires, wind, and traffic, and enhance the sound quality and clarity of your car audio system. It can also improve the thermal insulation and vibration damping of your car, making it more energy-efficient and durable.
To soundproof a Porsche Cayenne, we followed these steps:
Removing the Interior: We removed the interior panels, seats, and carpet of the car, and cleaned the metal surfaces thoroughly.
Applying Sound Deadening Material: We applied sound deadening material to the roof, trunk, doors, and floor of the car, using a roller and a heat gun to ensure a smooth and secure installation. We covered about 80% of the surface area with sound deadening material, focusing on areas with the most noise and vibration.
Adding Sound Deadening Insulation: We added sound deadening insulation, such as Thinsulate, to the gaps and cavities of the car, using spray adhesive and scissors to cut and fit the insulation. We covered about 40% of the surface area with sound deadening insulation, focusing on areas with the most heat and cold transfer.
Reinstalling the Interior: We reinstalled the interior panels, seats, and carpet of the car, and tested the soundproofing results.
We were very satisfied and impressed with the soundproofing results.

Would have been good to do rolling dB measurements pre and post. That would be our proof of the isolation.

Agreed, we limit risk by not driving clients cars on the road, so this isn't something that we would be able to film atm

Why you didn’t use sound insulation?
It will be very cool. I made vibro and sound insulation + noise reduction foam - 3 layers - in my car. It worked, I am satisfied.

I'm shocked that a brand like Porsche would have issues like that. My golf 2015 which I've had about 5 years is on 198k now but has very little rattle it low miles when I bought it. Only Porsche I've driven is a 997.1 2005 that didn't have any rattles

I just got my 2024 a Porsche Cayenne today. I feel so bad that a 100K SUV’s interior noise is awful. Every vehicle that goes nearby, I can hear. My Tesla Model 3 Highland is able to get rid of all those noises. I should have gone with a 1000$ upgrade to get dual pane front and back windows. But even roadnoise gets into car easily. Don’t know - it looks like when we test drove, they probably used a car with better insulation or so.. it was somewhat whiter..
Will stay away from the band after my lease is over. No wonder Chinese, Japanese & Korean brands win.
