You're 100% right. And these whiners on the message board are trying to blame Nebraska's SETTING. I've been watching Texas and Stanford games and realized that Neb doesn't have a SINGLE great hitter that can compare to an Eggleston, or Skinner, or Kipp, or Rubin. Not even close.

@@kori7192 Lauenstein is by far their most athletic, dynamic, and explosive hitter. Yes, she fits the profile better than the others, but for some reason, she's still not effective enough (kill %). Maybe it's her vertical jump that's not explosive enough.
Nebraska didn’t plan very well for when they ran out of subs. They should have made sure that Hames was the primary setter when they ran out of subs so that Evans wasn’t going through the front row. Poor planning on Nebraskas part. Congrats to Oregon though!
Completely agree. Course if it was up to me I'd make the same mistake and thus my stupid question. If Nebraska was out of subs, then why did the DS come off the bench @11:57 and replace 23? Just learning the game.
@@k.mike2687 they didn’t want 23 to mess up her serve so they brought in a DS to serve for her. I don’t think coach Cook thought the set would last long enough for the DS to end up in the front row.
Nebraska shouldn't feel bad about their hitting percentage, Oregon's really good in the back row. When Nuneviller is back there they have essentially 2 liberos, and Pukis and McClellan are great defenders. It's tough to put the ball down against them unless you just have freaky athletes that can hit over the block. Great match to watch!

@@djbenje4019 I've seen Stanford, Oregon swept them in Eugene. Nebraska's outsides aren't Kendall Kipp (very few hitters like that exist), but they're good enough I think. The setters are putting them in bad positions often by being very predictable. Nebraska needs a new offensive philosophy IMO.
Stop hyping NEBRASKA. THEY DO NOT HAVE DEEP ARSENAL AS THE OTHERS.

DS in the front in the 4th set she was all smiles but it had to be nerve wrecking, Oregon knew which hitters to look out for in the front.
Idk why but I found it so funny when the DS for Nebraska is smiling nervously in the front row🤣. Anyways, as I mentioned earlier in the season, this year is an upset year.

Seriously.. if you haven’t paid attention to Coach Ulmer (Oregon Head Coach), during the intense moments, he’s reactions are HILARIOUS! One of the best parts about being a Duck fan is watching his enthusiasm, and how present he is in the game. As if he’s on the court with them.

Setter was Nebraskas downfall. Battenhorst was amazing defensively and offensively in this match but it wasn’t enough.
Nope. Every Nebraska outside hitter (besides Krause) hit UNDER .200. Kubic was the worst at .105. Krause and Horde hit .324 and .412 respectively, so it wasn't the setter. Nebraska simply doesn't have any outstanding hitters. Just look at their swings, and their approaches... they are NOT elite type hitters. Next year, they'll get a true outside hitter in Harper Murray, and Kubic will be gone (thank god).
The hitters are off too. Way to go Oregon!
@@djbenje4019 you can’t deny that ally was the standout this game. Especially since she isn’t used to playing 6 rotations. Give credit where credit is due. This wasn’t their best season, not even close, but they lost a lot of important pieces.
@@kiaram8688 I like both Batenhorst and Krause, they're both rising stars with time and room to get even better. Lauenstein is the most talented and athletic, overall. And Kubic has reached her peak already -- all of them are above-average hitters, but none of them are true 'terminators'. And that's what Nebraska needs -- one or two OUTSTANDING hitters, who they can go-to in crucial moments, when the point/game is on the line. Next year, they'll have that hitter in Harper Murray. She's exactly what this team needs.

USA need to make a major league of Volleyball men and women it’s better than some sports.
Thankful for Kubik these last 4 years but I am glad to see her graduate. Very good hitter but not gonna miss the dumb mistakes that she makes at the absolute worst times.

Knew it would come up short this season as soon as it started. The setting issue was an immediate problem that led to more issues. There’s always next year.

The lesson here is that the 2 setter system has and will never work. Establishing Orr as the setter has to be the priority for next season.

@@djbenje4019 I watched Stanford all the time. Kipp is nothing without Miner, I can tell you that. And Orr is a much more completed setter than Miner.

why on earth did John Cook direct every serve to Nuneviller ??? ridiculous... she never missed making a good pass ... #5 is a crazy good all round athlete and he served her almost 100% in these fourth and fifth sets and she passed the ball almost perfectly... he likely cost them the game setting their setter up perfectly...
