I usually have a great experience with mine, sometimes it is off the mark and I get a well done steak or a rare steak. I dont think it is user error...because I have so much practice, but you never know. Could be a pocket of fat that I cant see that the probe went into.
_In my humble opinion, I still think a regular outside BBQ makes a better steak, so my airfryer is usually for ground beef & bacon only. But still awesome to see some great air fryer reviews. Thanks a lot Adam._ 🙏😉
Great video, Adam and I like how detailed you are with the comparison. This was so helpful! I am happy to see how well the steak turned out! The air fryer looks like a great one. I am due for a new one, though I am really looking for one that's stainless steel, especially for the basket. Also, I greatly appreciate you sharing that they sent it and you're an affiliate. We need more creators being transparent about that. 🙏
Yes, I totally agree with you on the stainless part of it. Kerry and I actually met the co-owners of Tastee at Hack Your Health and they said they were developing a solution to that problem. Fingers crossed 🤞
Adam. I just bought my dreo also. There was no probe temperature on the screen yesterday. I did a firmware update, and now there is a temp. I also have the tastee. I got the Dreo with Dantes discount. Keep up the good work.
Im sure that the Dreo takes some time to tell you the cooking time as it accounts for the delta in the thermometer readings and based on that it auto-adjusts its settings for the rest of the cook.
Also, if you're cooking your main meal in the airfryer and some in the family want fried eggs to complement their meal...Tastee will let you know the estimated done time and you'll know when to start the eggs so they're done at the same time. That seems like a plus for Tastee...
I have the Tastee and after a week I purchased a Dreo. I like the Tastee much better due to adjustable cooking probe temperature. The Dreo is fixed. The Dreo does not cook to rare on beef/meat mode and the medium rare borders to medium.
Just an FYI, today (6/17/24), the Tastee is $149.99 with an additional $30 off coupon on Amazon, so a total of $119. The Dreo ChefMaker is $359 with an $80 coupon for a total of $279. I bought the ChefMaker just last week with a $120 coupon for a total of $239. Haven't tried my Dreo yet though. This was a great comparison.
I feel like they are both similar. Slightly different but both can go into the dishwasher. The Tastee takes less time to dry because it doesn't have the air gap between the window and the outer case like the Dreo does.
Dante from @ferrignofreedom has a video on cooking from frozen. Essentially you defrost it for 15 minutes or so, then insert the probe once it is able to be. Then cook as normal.
I have been searching for the best air fryer, without spending alot. Now as a lady, the one thing lacking in video was clean up. How easy does the Tastee clean up? Is there alot of internal splatter? I may need to return to beginning of video to judge the basket size, as I was traveling while listening to this. Adam, you mentioned New York Strips, they are slender. Can I get two porterhouse in basket? Or one at a time?
Thank you for doing this comparison video. I've just started Carnivore (Aug 1st) and my current air fryer is good but the steaks are very inconsistant (I'm no chief!). I'm looking for an air fryer with meat probe functionality. Have you tried/ compared the Ninja air fryer wih meat probe? Thank you again (new subscriber)
Hmm, luckily i got my dreo for 200. the tastee looks decent... Any chance you can redo the test but this time use sou vide flavor in dreo? i usually use that... and its usually cooked to the right temperature more than the regular way
How long will we be able to purchase the Tastee? Great video Adam, appreciate your time and detailed results on both. I do need and air fryer, this is great.
It is slightly easier to use and seems to be less smoky. Maybe that is just my unit, not sure. The Dreo build quality is definitely nicer, but this is Tastee's first model out so there is room for improvement in that area. The most important thing is that it cooked the steak properly :D
You should try the ninja air fryer grill smart been around for a few years that does great steaks and sears better than both and tells you to flip for searing
Btw, the Dreo DOES show you the temperature of what you are cooking with the probe IF you are doing the Probe cooking mode. It doesn't if you use Chef mode because it takes care of all that and you don't really NEED to know ;) lol
Well aren’t you just a bundle of peaches lol. I have used both air fryers to varying degrees of success. Both work quite well but in this instance…the Dreo didn’t perform as well as I had expected. I’m glad you’ve had no issues with yours, maybe you can do a review of it for us, so that we can comment?
you don't know what you doing. that's why you like Tastee. for your information the Dreo has a probe selection that will show you all information on the screen. but some idiots don't take time to learn and then they make stupid reviews.
It does not show the temp in CHEF MODE, which is CLEARLY what was used here. Everyone knows it shows the temp in PROBE MODE. Thanks for your kind words, though.
@@CarnivoreToday yes it is but when you comparing them compare the right way. When you comparing what you comparing with the probe then you should compare Dreo with probe too. Because what Dreo can do yours machine is no match.
I don't know anything about Tastee but I have a Dreo and I use it almost every day and it's Phenomenal.
I usually have a great experience with mine, sometimes it is off the mark and I get a well done steak or a rare steak. I dont think it is user error...because I have so much practice, but you never know. Could be a pocket of fat that I cant see that the probe went into.

@@CarnivoreToday Awesome! I am so happy to hear that they're working on one. It's great when companies listen to customers.
@@LifeDIY Yeah, I was pretty surprised by that. Sounds promising.
Love the Chef Maker. One of the best things about it besides it cooks my steaks amazingly is it’s very easy to clean.
Great Video. I use my Air Fryer with a MEATER Pro / 2 Plus, and I think that probably gives me close to the same results

Every carnivore I follow is using Tastee. Definitely going to check it out. Thanks for the detailed review Adam! 😍

Happy Father's Day, Adam ❣️🥩❣️
You're gonna be helping sooo many Dads last longer for their children with the documentary ❤
Awe, thanks, Lynne! Happy Father’s Day to Jim as well! Appreciate the both of you to the moon and back! ❤️ 🥩

I mean it does... just do a probe cook, no?
I love my Dreo.
So you should do a test with the Dreo using the Sou Vide mode since that is it's main feature that sets it apart from a run of the mill air fryer.
I thought about that, but I didn't feel like that would be a fair fight since the Tastee doesnt have that feature. Maybe in another video.
Just an FYI, today (6/17/24), the Tastee is $149.99 with an additional $30 off coupon on Amazon, so a total of $119. The Dreo ChefMaker is $359 with an $80 coupon for a total of $279. Which product was easier to clean?
I feel like they are both similar. Slightly different but both can go into the dishwasher. The Tastee takes less time to dry because it doesn't have the air gap between the window and the outer case like the Dreo does.
The advantage of using an airfrier is you can cook from frozen...how do u use the probe.

That is good to know. I have never used anything other than chef mode. Ill play around with that now, thank you.
Worth noting you can turn on showing the probe temperature even for chef mode in the App
@@ResidualReason Ahh, that makes sense. I never installed the app. I just set it up on the machine screen and let it do it's thing.
I think dreo temp probe has an additional advantage as it monitors both the ambient temp and internal meat temp during the cook.
Looks like Tastee doesn’t have a setting for lamb?
It does not. I am sure you could use the steak setting and adjust accordingly, but that would take some experimentation.
Great video!
Thanks, Lynn!
Hey Adam, great video, surprised you didn't continue to eat from either steak just saying your were starving.
Next time! Haha! It was a feast once the cameras went off for sure! lol
Killing me!!! I’m fasting 😛😋
😂😂😂
The video is too slow for me, it was 8 minutes before you started the comparison.
Thanks for the feedback. This was my first review video and I have learned a lot from the feedback. Appreciate you!
