Haven't we all had a difficult coworker? I was young and new to the workforce and had a senior staff member consistently belittle me about the mutually respectful relationship I shared with my boss, "as if" it was sorted. Upon examination, I recognized how uncomfortable I "allowed" the words to make me feel coming from a coworker who, themselves, were imagining an unprofessional relationship....having managed to put aside my insecurity to address this coworker after a particularly descriptive innuendo, I confidently told them of my surprise at their imagining such a sorted fantasy. That was the last time they made any reference regarding myself and our boss.
I had a horrid Co worker it impacted on my mental health it was compounded by a lack of support by management which made things worse I had a breakdown how can people be so rotten
Every job I have had, I have been bullied and it gets worse as the weeks go on. The thing is it is every person who is doing the same job including the supervisor. I cannot get away from it. Because it just follows me everywhere. I know my ex coworkers at passed jobs are still at it. But I cannot prove it.
I have had difficult coworkers most of my life, usually the bully types. I have discussed directly with the coworker, I have escalated it to management and I have engaged in group discussions with management and the coworker to alleviate the problem. After years of addressing the issues, I have quit multiple jobs. I am currently seriously underemployed but would prefer that to the stress of working with difficult people. Each of my solutions did work for a short period of time but the bully would return to his ways and management would look the other way. I have even been told by one of my bullies to, "watch my back" because he was gunning for me.
Yeah they do that. I don't know the answer. Maybe be a little bit less nice? Be a little bet less certain about solutions? I dunno. Don't expect fairness but strive for it. It sucks but.... what are ya gonna do. We all been there
I have a coworker who talks behind my back and gets the other co-workers to act against me. I have a problem with co-workers who with hold paper work that I need. I try to collaborate with my co-workers however, she and her co-worker friend gang up on me. I do not know how to approach this situation. My campus director allows this behavior, what should I do. I am thinking about turning in my resignation.
Hey Ricky, in such situations, you cant do much about people other than ignoring them, but for your work try talking everything on emails, for eg: if you asked for some document, ask it over email keeping required people in loop, if no response, send follow up emails with subject title as " Reminder 1: doc required", "Reminder 2:......", this way you will gather the technical proofs of delays that happened because of them not responding and if required you can show these things to other leaders as well. I am a HR Professional, and see such situations all the time. You can follow my content on ua-cam.com/channels/Bi5WafwgQOGsrb1zNDR1CA.html
@@theCorporateDiaries Thank you, Thank you! The information printed above is an excellent help. I will use your tactics to request paper work that should already be submitted to me.
@@rickythompson3625 My pleasure, if in future you need any help on the related stuff and you feel as an HR I can help, please feel free to write me at "varsha.corporatediaries@gmail.com".
Same thing happened to me, but when l confronted that punk co worker with a threat of a defermation law suit, he emediately ceased, he was suspended a few hours later.
I think if we're talking culture, you have to take many different view points. Women may be perceived as more emotionally problematic, but men might be navigating their negativity through different channels. I think the solution would be to discuss psychology of human behaviours, and not try to assign human problems to just one group of people.
My coworker is constantly throwing scabies skins near me. My supervisor pays a deaf ear and on top of it all, his friend is being upgraded to supervisor. Please help
Wow, we're so sorry and that is, frankly, sounding very unsanitary. This sounds like something you definitely need to talk with someone about and since your manager is ignoring this, try the manager above them, HR, or another senior leader.
Have you ever had an unpleasant coworker? How did you handle the situation?
