More people are getting duct-taped on flights, it just happened to this 13-year-old

- Sitting on an airplane is probably one of the least enjoyable parts of your vacation, especially how noisy it gets. The plane itself is already loud from the engine, then add in crying children and loud talkers. And now, in the midst of the pandemic, some people are causing havoc in the air with their unruly behavior.
Police are getting involved and hefty fines are being proposed. People were shocked when a flight attendant was seen using duct tape to control a passenger.
But this isn’t the first time… After a recent video went viral, more videos surfaced. Why is this becoming a phenomenon? Let's find out.
Sources: pastebin.com/B...
If someone is trying to kick out a window or open the door mid flight, PLEASE use the ducttape. That’s terrifying.
Yup. Its not like they spun a wheel and randomly duct taped someone. Nor was it their first action, they tried to calm them down other ways first. If I saw someone getting duct taped would I feel a little uncomfortable? Yea probably. But I would feel much more uncomfortable and unsafe if they were given the freedom to do whatever they please and assault people.
@@CatLady555 absolutely! They did as they were trained to. They tried to verbally deescalate to no prevail. Let’s not forget to mention the people trying to physically open the exit door MID flight…

We should really stop serving alcohol on planes. If your a nervous flyer, talk to your doctor. Don’t self medicate like many of these people.
They could even use other options instead of alcohol to calm down, like tea, gum, anything else to deal with it.

*ah yes, let’s let the man who was SA women just keep doing his thing because it’s “funny”*

@@BrennaDraws yeah I laugh a lot when I’m nervous or if I’m in pain for some reason it just automatically happens
“Passengers we’re laughing” let’s go interview the people who witnessed that. The children as well. Who could have been his victim. Let’s interview all of the women who were aboard and ask them “did you feel safe” 😂 what’s wrong with people (the tweeter)
I love how he thinks only 2 million is a lot and tries to flaunt it
It’s just like hospitals, if the patient is being aggressive and is posing a threat to staff, other patients or themselves they get restrained to the bed. I think it was perfectly reasonable to restrain that passenger!
They should get proper equipment though, to avoid these videos getting viral, lol.
@@angelab.6444 I feel like duct tape is probably the better thing, actually. They can at least cut through it easily in case of an emergency, unlike other common restraints like handcuffs. It's definitely not the most dignified thing - though do people like these really deserve the dignity?

They made the shittiest complaint about it "Breaking our policies"
I notice that the dissenters in each scenario, meaning the few who felt duct tape was too harsh or that the offender's safety would be at risk during an emergency evacuation (possibly caused by an unrestrained passenger in crisis?) each failed to offer up an alternative solution. I thought the crews were brilliant.
Most major airlines carry *RESTRAINT KITS* that have Zip Ties and Cuffs in them. Not only does taping a person to a chair increase THEIR risk of death in case of an emergency, but they could be in the way of OTHER people in an emergency and cause a bottleneck or blockage... Think about the people AROUND the people that are been restrained...
Well that just speaks to your personal character
@@lady4191 As it should.
Is restraining a person who's actively being a threat to others around them really a wrong thing to do now? God what has society come to.
Imagine saying "They were JUST abusive, he was no real threat" - Those words don't go right in the same sentence lol
I know that quarantine and covid have been exhausting these past years, but come on, it couldn't have affected the brain *that much*.
Yo seriously
Well, some of these people seem to be experiencing psychosis. Like the passenger who was smelling gas and was certain that another passenger had explosives... those sound like hallucinations/delusions. Seems like the woman who tried to open the airplane door was experiencing one or the other as well. If that's the case, these can be symptoms of Schizophrenia, but not necessarily full blown Schizophrenia depending on the duration of symptoms, but either way could be sign of a psychotic disorder. I am thinking it may be possible that the stress from the past 1.5 years could have triggered some of these symptoms in certain people who were already predisposed to them, and since they were quarantined and not going out much the symptoms were not obvious to those around them, and therefore remained undiagnosed and untreated so far.
This is for there safety and other people’s safety
Obviously not

To the person who said and i quote “It looks like they duct taped his mouth; that’s not ok. I get the impulse but the potential for oxygen deprivation is real.” Have you heard what breathing through the nose is
Noses get clogged, and a fair amount of people can't or don't breathe through their nose. Like my grandma, she's a mouth breather literally and can't comfortable breathe through her nose
I’m glad they restrained him but I have bad allergies and I breath mainly out of my mouth as my nose is always clogged
@@juanitacanon3120 I don't think you're supposed to breathe from your mouth as a mouth breather. Try to get that out of habit, it ruins your jaw.
@@h1_alfie Then fix his nose.
Yeah some people would struggle breathing through nose. Whatever it is as he said "Potential for oxygen deprivation is there."
Most airlines have a procedure on what to do when it comes to disruptive passengers. They wont just duct tape them straight away. This pax must have done alot of things prior, given multiple warnings, from crew and captain, and then finally duct taped to his seat.
Whatever the reason, I doubt the crew did anything wrong and it had to be done for the safety of other passengers...
