I have secretely prayed to God for more than 25 years no joke that Axl will find it within heart to release the pro shot footage of many of the Use Your Illusion concerts. This show looks like it was amazing.
@@monkeestealth I don't have any video this is actually the first thing i've seen after all this time would you believe. Only guys we met were from Skid Row who we had some beers with.I've got some good pics from the gig though
I was at this show. Worst organised event ever. There was an ombudsman report into the poor event management. Imagine 75,000 people leaving into a carpark with no lights at 11 at night. Coincidentally they have never held another concert there since. I wonder why? So glad I went though. Skid Row were brilliant and GNR at that time were probably the biggest band in the world. Now the big question....from looking at the news footage this concert was obviously filmed....where is the entire footage?
I have a C grade complete audio recording which has done the rounds and is up on youtube. I am guessing the footage is sitting in a studio vault somewhere. I believe the ABC studios had video Metallica's 1989 Festival Hall concert at some point, so I was told.
The GNR Calder Park 1993 audio does not seem to be up on youtube anymore. I have a copy though and there are many circulating. i saw GnR open for INXS in 1987 and it was the most memorable show of my life. Saw them again a few times after 1991 on the big stage...they were SOOOOOO much better as openers when they were scratching and fighting to make it big they were unbelievable i have NEVER seen a frontman try that hard before..Axl was very impressive
@@Rilez616 Actually it was a one day festival setting at Texxas Stadium..The Smithereens, Ziggy Marley, Iggy Pop, Guns N Roses, and INXS headlined. Guns N Roses played right before INXS. INXS was awesome too.
@@mooknick242 inxs would’ve been amazing around then, when kick was just out, they always go hard on don’t change at the end too I would kill to have gone to an inxs concert 😂
@@Rilez616 that's exactly right my friend.they were my favorite band at the time and was the only chance i ever got to see them. One of the favorite shows of my life. Thanks.
Got home just in time for a quick shower and of to work in the Butcher shop for 10 hrs sunburnt and tired ,I'm 46 now shit it doesn't seem like that long ago 😂😂
I worked there selling the drinks off the back of the Ute before the gates opened, looking back it was so dangerous for my friend and I standing if the back of the moving Ute trying to quickly serve in the incredible heat. What a concert though it was a day to always remember. No one mentions the rocks being thrown from B section at A section.
I was about 8 years old at the time I remember the event as I had older cousins that went to it. All the posters on the walls and stuff. They were a good band back in the days. I remember sitting in the back of my cousins ZD Fairlane or HJ monaro with there songs pumping full blast.
Hahaha!! I was interviewed but it cut out on your copy, love to see the original footage before it was all cut together, any ideas on where I could find it??
I barely remember a thing about that day lol, guess I was too stoned or drunk. All I remember was it was hot, and the wind, there was a warning about the wind blowing down the sound towers. I remember Skid Row were better than the gunners. I don't even remember how I got home, good times I think if I could remember lol..
monkeestealth You lived a good moment today I do not see anything big happening in the world of rock here in brazil mainly music the last one was the charlie brow jr and the raimundos know?
Sat right on the hill on the back let hand-side closet to freeway. The mud-slides were on the back RHS. Fuckin sick, SKID ROW were even betta than gunnerz
lol I remember that. All the guys sliding down the hill in the bins did you see that it was hilarious. I was freaken freezing lol. Yes Skid Row were great at least they said thank you to their fans, guns n roses the dirtbags didn't
Yeah I was there....in fact that's me at the 42sec mark in the white bandana and Bali ripoff sunnies! The show was fine(Skid Row the pick of the bunch for me), the weather was wild, which I could've put up with, if the organization wasn't the biggest shit show rip off I've ever had the displeasure of being a victim of! We all got ripped off that day by a bunch of money hungry grubs who were far less interested about the basic welfare of the patrons. Still...life's all about the experience and it wasn't all bad!
Skid row were great that day at least they thanked the fans because guns n roses didn't the dirtbags. well at lease we can say, I survived Calder Park Guns n Roses concert 1993 lol,
I was at the Eastern Creek concert in Sydney. Like Calder, it was stifling heat. And knowing me, I wore jeans rather than shorts. But thankfully it didn't rain. That would have been been icing on the cake!
Gunners are so overated. Maybe 3 or 4 hits in their time. Slash was the only decent musician. And you can tell by his playing style and choice of guitar he was heavily Influenced by Ace Frehely
Lets see. Welcome to the Jungle, Sweet Child O Mine, Paradise City, Patience, Live and Let Die, You Could Be Mine, Knocking on Heaven's Door, Don't Cry, Yesterdays and November Rain. That's 10, and I'm sure I've forgotten some.

I'm afraid that will never happen
Everything will fade away
If only UMG stops taking down shows and terminating guns n roses channels
My first concert, I was 15 yrs old, still one of the most memorable and unforgettable days of my life. LOVED IT!
That's me playing drums with my band Pearls and Swine at 2.04 we played at Eastern Creek in Sydney as well
That would have been awesome, did you meet the other bands, do you have any footage of the show you could share?

Pearls and Swine, Rose Tattoo, Skid Row & Guns n Roses. Was a big day,
Massive fucken day. 40 degreez then pissing rain. Best CONCERT EVA. 100,000 plus attendance
Sebastian Bach in leather pants in 40 degree heat said something like “its hotter than a hookers cunt on a Friday night out here”. Too funny.

Was well worth it, eventhough it was hot af, no water, no transport home. BEST CONCERT EVER!!!!

"Axl Rose and Co." Lol that's how I see it too.
