I think this build quality is quite common for cheaper speakers. Yamaha cut corners on the materials, components and build quality. (they need to make a profit to)I built my own speakers with better drivers and materials but also more expensive. I listened to this set and it does sound good for the money, absolutely.
Seems like some of manufacturers put the cut out scrap into the cabinets. I first saw that with Sony. Good way to reduce their waste.
I live in Indonesia. In my country there is a speaker factory called "Sinar Baja Electric". I think Yamaha ordered a custom driver from there. Because the shape of the driver is exactly the same. BTW this factory produces cheap drivers :(
they also produce the sb acoustics series of drivers good value for mone with decent cast baskets. it all depends on how much you want to pay 10 vs 100 dollars

Wow overall quality seems so bad for the price. Good thing I passed these up.
I have a pair, and for the money they are actually a good sounding speaker, dynamic, lots of bass and crystal clear treble, im happy with them, hooked up to a marantz amp they pound..
Looking at the crossover I can see a Nippon Chemicon Capacitor(Brown) top Japaneese brand. Some so called high end speakers aren't much better. They sound really good for the low price.
I planed to buy this speaker but after seeing how bad it is made better find other option.
They actually sound really good for the price, and im happy with them..

I was of the same opinion as you, but after a bit of research on the internet it seems that they might worth buying, because they make up for the poor build quality with some speakers that are able to deliver an impressive sound in this price category. At least, this is what people say on the internet.
I will take them, in spite of their shortcomings.
I would personally consider the Mission LX range of speakers for a little more money from a company who actually builds speakers. Better built and engineered. LX-4 or LX-5 are worth looking at 👍🏼
@@ChillToMusic87 Thanks, I didn't know that. I am kind of new to the hifi community. On second thoughts, I will go for a Dali Oberon 5. In my country Mission LX 5 and Dali Oberon 5 have the same price. I pick the Dali, because they look prettier to me :)) Design is also important.

yamaha has good amplifier and receiver products but not for the speakers. (except soavo and hx series)

Yes, the wires are a bit thin, and also it would be better if the leads were soldered onto the speaker terminals. The crossover looks a bit home-made!

Cheap electrolytic capacitors and cheap like cone rim.
This speaker pair cost less than one good driver.
Crap speakers of the type much cheaper for example Voice Kraft, only that you pay for the logo YAMAHA 😂

Crappy crossover.Didn't even bother to wire the components properly.Threw in some crappy glue & it is done.
For this price, I buy the tools, components and materials and build a better boxes.

Yamaha uses cheap drivers and cheap frequency crossovers and charges more. Rather look for other brands that are not commercial

son comerciales, es decir la gente los compra porque son lindos, este es su punto, son elegantes pero los componentes basicos. Igualmente es justo el preciod que seran unos 250 dolares, los de calidad valen mas de 1000@@licgrana2
