These proverbs are very impressive indeed. Thank you so much. This is South Sudanese Dinka language proverbs. The beggar can not ask for a big bowl. The meaning is the person who is begging, can not have a say over whatever have been given to them. If what have been given to them is small they would just be great ful, and say nothing at all.

One that I heard often (and not just for carpentry): "Measure twice, cut once", meaning it's easier to double-check something beforehand than to do it over. Another one I heard often and occasionally followed: "It's easier to apologize than to get permission".

I love the way you explain. I just started a new UA-cam channel and I am infusing English Language tutorials in my vlog. I have a strong knack for English language. I have been creating content and not posting. I just have this fear that I may run out of content, but seeing your channel, I am more than encouraged. In my country, my age group prefer news and gossip to English language tutorials. I posted 2days ago. I will keep posting, I will not give up. I need all the support I can get. I will get to the top some day.

"Hard work never killed anyone" = "Hindi bumubukol ang pagod" (literally means - fatigue won't give you lumps); and
"Pag may tiyaga, may nilaga" (literally means "When there's perseverance, there's stewed (food)

Thank you for invaluable and meaningful proverbs. Proverbs are true words because they are passing from generations to generations. We must make an effective use of proverbs. They help live a life we want. Sometimes words are powerful than actions. Life is not full of roses.
We use popular proverbs in Egypt (Arabic) for example. (The earring gives those who have no ears) "in a mocking way". It means that an unworthy person gets something that he dosn’t deserve it or he is not qualified to get that opportunity like a job, marriage, earning a large fortune without getting tired, we always use to derogate the person who gets the opportunity. For example, when a poor man got married to a rich and beautiful woman, or when an unsuccessful person gets a good profession.

And similar to your expression with the hay.... I googled and found the same expression in English:
to strike while the iron is hot. Rough translation from Estonian would be "hammer the iron til it is still hot".

"a work isn't a wolf it won't run into the forest" last one it's a joke but uses frequently in conversations - when somebody doesn't want to work.

In Morocco we have literally the same proverbs as : the necessity is the mother of invention.

However,
- make hay while the sun shines, we say: strike the steel while it's hot.
- A leopard doesn't change its spots, we have 2 sayings here:
1. A bad habit always stays.
2. The dancer never forgets the shoulder movement. ( coz dancers in Morocco move their shoulders while dancing)
