The following video will show you how you need to configure a controller to play Skyward Sword without a Wiimote or Motion Controls.

This was the only 3D zelda I never beat because I hated the motion controls. Now I might actually try and finish it all these years later.
Absolute legend, I had completely given up on emulating that at all without the wiimote. I'll try this out, thank you so much for sharing!

Kinda sucks that they've locked earth-to-sky travel behind an amiibo in the remake. Great video, btw! I'll have to make a quick backup of my copy and give this a try! Man I love emulation.
hey bro, you can infact may combinations. for example for swing up, left click in the space and a window will pop open then on the black space you write "`Trigger R`&`Right Y+`" and that way for the wing you need to press Trigger R when moving the left stick up.
Exactly right. I’ve dabbled a bit with it since I uploaded this video, and I hope to eventually make a controller profile that not only works well, but works very similar to the controls of other 3D Zelda’s. Thanks for sharing @Gagrecco!

I’m working on getting footage for some tweaks that I’ve made, but I want to finish the game first before I recommend anything. I plan on continually making updates on this channel, though to get the controller to the point that it plays like any other Zelda game.

i can't seem to complete the part where you raise the skyward sword for the first time. the motion control moves on its own so i can never keep the sword straight up long enough. i see in you dolphin controller settings that ur motion control shakes as well
nfrn0 Make sure you saved your profile, in the motions simulation you’re gonna have to take out every single thing in point and tilt. Then only configure up in swing, this will force the controller to keep it holding upwards since it can’t move left or right.

Absolute savior, this is my favorite LoZ game
So i really want to play this game and i have a few questions.
1. Did you or anyone who followed these instructions beat the game?
2. Can this work with other controllers like a wired controller or does it have to be a ps4 controller?
3. What version of dolphin do i at least need to use?
@Rafay Noman So I just finished the game with a couple minor tweaks to this guide, and I’m just condensing footage down to explain my experience, as well as going over the tweaks to the configuration. Other than that, you can use other wireless/wired controllers, as long as they are supported by Dolphin, and I’ve been playing on Dolphin 5.0.

Bit late, but what I’ve found is the right stick to the left
I need this because my Wii remote keeps disconnecting only on this game
I tried doing this but the fact that I can't freely control the camera around Link with the right analog stick broke it for me. Couldn't even play it for more than 10 minutes. Went back to Twilight Princess.
@Nnamz One of the biggest downfalls of the game is that Nintendo didn’t put camera controls in it. Definitely a mistake on their part.
Your not going to like the Switch one any better and neither am I.

What about controls on pc ? i tried to start game but it seems impossible becuz range of area ? i am trying on 4:3 screen or 5:3 i dont remember but it doesnt do anything i even tried to minimize the size of window but there's like area circle but not all window. I tried it with mouse. System cursor doesnt work on doplhin properly
any chance we can get that update video soon? i been kinda curious about trying to play this game again. but i sold all my wii equipment last year

Hey man, I could use some help finding the "Attach MotionPlus" tick box. I click on Controller Configuration>Wiimote 1 (Emulated Wiimote)>Configure>and this is where I'm breaking my head trying to look for the "Attach MotionPlus" tick box. It's not under the Options section, nor is it under the Nunchuck Extension Configuration. I'm currently running the Dolphin 5.0 Stable build, and I even went so far as to try older versions of the program. I tried fresh installations of each version, but the option still doesn't show. I'd appreciate any guidance you may have.

You can play it on Android now. Download Dolphin MMJ or MMJR. Get a Bluetooth controller. Emus are amazing on a Flip 3. No need for a kickstand.
PLEASE HELP: My Dolphin Emulator does not show the option for a MotionPlus check box and no where in configure or anywhere does it say motionplus. What can I do?
Thanks for the tutorial, works like a charm. The only gripe I have is that after every swing Link will also stab, also how does one do a spin attack? Seem to be having trouble with that, other than that it's working great.
Thanks for the comment. In this game of the series, you don’t hold down a slash to release a spin attack. For this one, I recommend holding the shield button (for me it is R2), and then swing using the right analog stick. This will make Link do the spin attacks.
@@crux64gaming Yeah I actually just figured that one out, my only issue at this point is all the stabbing Link keeps doing haha
I never got the constant wiggling of the right analog stick to completely go away, but I was able to lessen the sensitivity to it, so that there’s less extra swipes after the one you intended. Stay tuned for an update video.

I’m currently using an Alienware R3, 8GB Ram, with a GTX1050ti for my GPU. I could invest more into the specs, but so far it’s capable of doing what I want/need it to do. :)
I can't get past the screen where it says to connect nunchuck and wiimote to wii motion plus accessory
It sounds like you haven’t enabled either Wii Motion Plus, or selected the Nunchuck as an attachment. Make sure the boxes are checked for “Wii Motion Plus” and “Nunchuck” in the configure menu.
@@crux64gaming I have the nunchuck ticked, but there is no box for Wii Motion Plus. I am using Dolphin Version 5.0. Is that the problem?

Hey dude I'm aware that dolphin 5.0 is the latest version of it but for some reason the bos of the wii motion plus doesn't shows, are you using an experimental version?

I’m not sure if this was just working with my controller, but I would hit the “center” button (should be down on the dpad), and the reticle would go further down so that you can select menu options.
Just one question. Have you managed to fully beat the whole on your computer using the ps4 controller, and if so did you face any control or motion difficulties throughout your whole experience with the game?
I haven’t finished the game yet, but with some tweaks, I’ve managed to play this pretty decently with the PS4 controller. I’ll post an update video with my tweaks once I’ve finished the game.

I actually struggled with that issue as I progressed in the game. That’ll be part of my update video, but something you can do until that video comes out, you can assign the tilt to a face button (in my case I assigned it to triangle) so that you can hold in triangle to do a perfect Skyward Strike, without the wobble.
@@crux64gaming Just a quick update. I'm currently playing the game with an Xbox controller and luckily, i haven't had any major issues with the game. I haven't finished the game yet, and I'm at a point where I'm confident enough that I'll be able to beat the whole game. It's not as accurate as using the Wii remote but it's definitely playable and enjoyable.
How do i set it so that I can "tilt" the sword so that I can point? he keeps on swinging. Please help
You need to increase your dead zone in the tilt column until you are able to point with the sword without unintentionally swinging.
Can this also work on the Android version of dolphin?

I made a backup of my copy of this game on my modded Wii. Straight up downloading games is illegal, and I can't help you there.

Go to ziperto. Even i had given up emulating skyward sword because i don't have the controller.
How do you get past the connect nunchuck part
Make sure that in your configuration, that you check the nunchuck attachment box, otherwise, you won’t be able to play the game.

It’s tricky, but it takes practice. Id recommend going slowly to nail the shape.
Any way to do this on Wii U?
It would have to be modded and run some form of Dolphin for this to work.

I’m almost through the game. There are a couple of tweaks that I made because the right stick on my controller doesn’t sit still! Let me know if you want to see the updated tweaks.

Kingdom J go to config then audio and select open AL if it doesn’t work put 18 for latence (maybe less or more it’s up to you) close your game before or you won’t be able to go on audio settings

dont worry if you cant.
I used the Wii application “GX Loader.” The app will make a copy of your game, and then you can move the file from your hard drive to your PC to play on Dolphin, or whatever emulator you choose.
I can’t really remember the whole process of configuring the Wii to run GX Loader, but I do know that I watched a few videos of how to do it here on UA-cam.

I bought this game for my wii u the motion plus and an ultra sensor bar. I couldn't even move the camera screen with Link I think I need to try again becusse I couldn't even get up on the building to ge tthe puppy 😑😑😑
