    • @PawPawsWorkShop

      It’s mostly trial and error. Feed rate is the most critical. To fast and you will break bits and cause the machine to chatter. The depth per pass should not exceed 1/2 the diameter of the bit or less. The plunge rate will vary with the hardness of the wood. If you have the ramping feature use it. It helps greatly.

    Hello Sir Great video on exactly what i was looking for and to let you know I've been doing this for 4 whole days with Fox Alien 4040Xe. • @PawPawsWorkShop
      @PawPawsWorkShop  8 місяців тому +1

      What software are you using? If easel and you are doing two stage carving then you most likely do the roughing pass first. The program will finish and stop. You then change the bit, z the machine at the same exact place that you z’ed the first time for the roughing pass and select finishing pass. That will start the next program and run.

      This was just a premium pine board. As far as cost, you need to determine the cost of materials and your time. These projects take a long time to produce jus like the 3D carving. It hard to determine a cost when you add machine time. Try and get an idea of what the market will bear in your area and then determine if it is worth it.
