    I placed an order with SOE back in January. I'm patient but six months is long time to wait for a bag. I had to move on. They haven't responded to my update requests since May. I emailed them today and asked for them to cancel my order, which they did. Good luck to SOE with scaling out their business to meet the demand. It does look like nice gear. I just don't want to wait a year.

    I love the use case here for the tool bag, the pouches and those toiletry bags. A couple years ago I bought a single toiletry bag, intending to use it for that purpose for traveling. I was so impressed with the quality of the bag I thought it might have a lot more uses and it does as you demonstrated a couple. By now I think I must have 10 or more by now using them for a ton of things. Did you know they are excellent for holding loose ammo too, good in a range bag!

    Good gear and setup. If you've not played around with powerful glow in the dark tape, the stuff can be great for marking and labeling in dark places. A favorite use I've found is masking charge ports for things like the anker battery you have. Sharpie writing on the glow tape is also legible for hours after being exposed to light.

    • @heatshield
      @heatshield 11 місяців тому +1

      Hey I’ve just started looking into different glow tapes and clips for long road trips because I would much rather be able to locate a couple things quickly with a brief glance, than ruin my adjusted vision.
      Can you recommend a good brand that will last a couple hours? It doesn’t have to be nuclear powered magic. Just something that will stay bright for a couple hours in between rest stops, and even better, something you might have used that has been working for at least a couple months so I don’t have to add “peeling off and replacing tape” to my weekly vehicle road-trip prep tasks.
      Thanks for you time. Cya round here.

    • @saccaed
      @saccaed 11 місяців тому +1

      @@heatshield I ordered off Amazon "Lockport Glow in The Dark Tape 15 Ft x 0.5 Inch". I've not noticed any sign of wear or degradation after a year and a half. The tape stays fairly bright for several hours and is visible but dim after ~10 hours. I typically will leave a tripod and camera out somewhere doing a timelapse for hours and have had great results finding the tripod in the pitch dark from ~100yds away without need for flashlights. As with all tape, surface prep likely will determine how well adhered and long lasting the tape application will be.

    • @feyrband
      @feyrband 11 місяців тому +1

      A lot of that costs more than decent hand guns and off the shelf AR. You don't need to go top shelf. But I'd say yes to all that besides the bowie knife being lowest priority. I'd just get a cheap 22 lr rifle instead of a pellet gun.

    • @johnnydoom4646

      @@feyrbandI agree, I'm 55 and killed many animals with my old 22lr. It's also cheap to fire, and I can pack several hundred rounds without issue. Prepping isn't a run out and buy it most times so money isn't a issue, save a little each week and before you know it you can have that weapon of your dreams lol. Wrangler, can you make an EMP shield that drops over the bag and camera? The closer the advent of an EMP becomes, the closer i put my electronics together. By the way, would a box made of five mirrors work as an EMP shield? If the light from the sun is electromagnetic in nature and you can use it to signal with a mirror, does a mirror reflect/deflect other EMP emanations?

    • @JimsEquipmentShed

      If an EMP hits, the internet is gone, so my plan is not to bother.

    • @voice552
      @voice552 11 місяців тому

      @@JimsEquipmentShed I'm more interested in portable EMP shields for electrical stuff that can be run by a generator after an EMP. Imagine the panic from all those worthless social media influencers after the net goes down, while us smart people still have the necessities. Do you know if cb radios would work immediately after an EMP, or would there be some kind of electromagnetic smog leftover that may take a while to lift? I've seen prepping channels with handheld cb's in bugout bags, but can they be used immediately?

    • @JimsEquipmentShed
      @JimsEquipmentShed 11 місяців тому

      Honestly, if old school electronics are turned off, I really don't see a reason why they wouldn't function properly after.
      If the EMP is that powerful where it's going to fry resistors and capacitors, the human body is done anyhow.
      My plan is just to leave batteries out.
      On the newer gear, I'd like to see the threshold. Things are a lot less sensitive now. I'd be willing to pull the battery on my vehicle and I'm betting it would start after.
      If the circuit isn't energized, it's not going to overload. If Im wrong, there's always old school diesel.@@voice552
