ah, nostalgia. I'm a year 4 undergrad in physics and I'd like to say thank you to khan academy for all your amazing work. Before I get into physics major, I watched a ton of your videos on math and physics. Without your videos I'd be absolutely rubbish at math, let alone physics. Again, thank you so much for making these videos!
My year 11 Math teacher is going through this, but she isn't making any sense, she could use a white marker on a whiteboard and I would still learn the same as I currently do in her class, your videos are really helpful.
Quite a long method dont you think to convert. If I know that 1 degree = π/180, then 30 degree = [ (π/180) * 30 ] radians I find this much simpler to work out.
For some reason, I find it easier to see the problem as a ratio using A/B=C/D. I guess he is trying to explain the reasoning behind it which kind of escape me. There is always more than one way of looking at a problem Any thoughts on this? πr/180° = ?/30° 30° (πr)/180° = πr/6 (30/180 = 1/6) so: πr/6 = 30°
Your videos are so helpful, but i think would be even better if you don't repeat things to fill silences, it's nice to have a second to absorb the last thing you said.
notice how he cleverly avoids the arithmetic involved with using approximations for pi (presumably, because "Pi/N" is exactly correct while "3.14159...../N" is wildly inaccurate!) ( For those who couldn't follow the arithmetic, one Radian is approx.57 degrees
Everything is good, its just that i dont get how you could get a negative angle, also how would you plot that on a unit circle? would it just be downwards?
While converting 30 degrees to radians you wrote "degrees" in numerator and denominator for no reason. This is wrong. Here you just multiply with "number". You don't need to consider its units.
I'm so lost on this... where did the pi/180*radians/degree*30 degrees come from? He said it came straight from the formula, but the formula says raidian = 180/pi. Can anyone clarify this for me? Thanks.
Ok I've been looking through your videos, and they're helpful, but... they didn't answer the question I'm looking for. How do you convert 5/6 (no pi, no nothing, just the fraction 5 over 6) to radians???

You're Bri-ish I presume. How'd I figured? You said 'rubbish' instead of 'trash'.
where are you now with your degree, what job did you get :D I just started first year in engineering :D
This guy explains things so well, i have spent so much time on Khan Academy! Thank you!!!!
MY EXAM IS TOMORROW AND THIS IS A LIFE SAVER OHMYGOSHS
how was the exam
@@user-dp9yn7zf4l 4 years late for that lol

ily, whoever made khan academy... you deserve everything in life
youre the only reason i'm going to pass my physics/mathematics course this year. thank you v much
thank you
omg !!

I love your videos💗

Why don't you have a music verification instead?

Maths, maths, oh, my dear maths...
Were you to go away,
It would take the joy out of my day
Such a big help, having a test tomorrow and really needed more insight on this topic. Thanks a lot!
How was your test?
How was ur test?
How was your test?
I'm binge watching Khan academy's tutorial vids (in precalculus) for my exam which is about to begin in an hour and a half... Pray for me
how was your exam?
Yea you never told us, How? Was Your Exam?
Lol, after 3 years how was it?
Years on , still saving lives 💕💯
Pi radiususes? Lol that lightened the mood. Good teaching. You made it easier for me to understand wtf my professor was trying to say
Didn't understand the test I have tomorrow until I watched this video, you're singlehandedly the reason I am getting a B and not a C in math lmao
Quite a long method dont you think to convert.
If I know that 1 degree = π/180, then
30 degree = [ (π/180) * 30 ] radians
I find this much simpler to work out.
1° = 180/π
Love the part where his like RADIUSESESESS. Love you!
For some reason, I find it easier to see the problem as a ratio using A/B=C/D. I guess he is trying to explain the reasoning behind it which kind of escape me. There is always more than one way of looking at a problem Any thoughts on this?
πr/180° = ?/30°
30° (πr)/180° = πr/6 (30/180 = 1/6)
so: πr/6 = 30°
Got a 64 on my trig test. Hoping this will save me for my retake. I've learned so much
OMG its 11 years ago
Loved this.. best among many explanations that I have gone through so far!!
Thanks for existing Khan Academy!!

Just pause it
@J then don't listen to it.
I like to put him on 1.25x, that's my learning speed for him
incredibly helpful, thank you!
My favorite instructor!
I donno why but deriving the conversion part was the hardest for me to understand, thank you so much sir !

Thanks fam!
This makes sooo much sense! Thanks soooo much! You literally saved my life!!!! Massive Thumbs up!
This is great. I know what i'm actually doing now. And i have a quiz tomorrow. I'm ready!
thanks for help it work out for my problem
I wish I have teachers like you.
Very Helpful 👌thank you!!
Me watching this 11 yrs later 😂
helps so much
alright brother, got it😁 thanks,,
i really enjoyed watching your video man and radiuseseses
I remember it by pi radians = 180 degrees.
Thank you❤🙏
You havr the power to make things come intuitively others just as they do to you.
What a relief! Thanks man!
thanks g
God bless
Thank you!
Thanks helped me a lot!

How we change degree and minute
Thank you so much.
Great video !!!
thanks dude! your vids are helping me a lot
people always use special angles which are easy to convert to radians, but how about the angles like 35 or 215?
its actually neil tyson
Best explanations ever! Really love the videos.
Thank you Sal Khan for my life
hoooooly sheeeet thank you! This was such a good way to learn this :D So quick!
Thank You!!!!

i was 8 yrs old when this was posted .....
Thanks, vids A1
Jesus, i learnt more here than school, thanks man
So helpful, who's here is 2018?
45 degres is equal to 0.75 radians
Thanks for this video. This time, you didn't say RADIUSESESES.
Hellpful like hell, thanks
Radians are the unitless unit.
I'm so lost on this... where did the pi/180*radians/degree*30 degrees come from? He said it came straight from the formula, but the formula says raidian = 180/pi. Can anyone clarify this for me? Thanks.
what is the equivalent of pi in numbers sir?
If 1 rad equals to 180 degree, then why google calculator show me to be 57?
Ok I've been looking through your videos, and they're helpful, but... they didn't answer the question I'm looking for. How do you convert 5/6 (no pi, no nothing, just the fraction 5 over 6) to radians???
Im sure you figured out that when there is nothing, like no symbols or notation or whatever, you default to radians.5pi/6
How do you convert metre to litres?! XD
I wish he said "radii" though, instead of "radiuseseses."
Thaanks:D
But what if a question asks to like convert 2.5 radians to degrees?:/
2..5 can also be written as 5/2
therefore , 2.5 radians = 180 / pi * 5/2
Pi radiuseses.....

what does he mean by radiusiusius
just the plural form of radius. when he says that he is talking about more than one radius
made this so fucking simple, thanks bro!
For the longest mr. Khan has worthy opponent. Corpse husband.
WHY IS THE 90 NEGATIVE WHEN ITS JUST A DIVISION
