Liquid Swords is definitely worth a whole album deep dive . Gza is the eldest member of the Wu Tang collective, and Rza and Odb are his blood cousins .
Imo not only the best solo project to come out of the WuTang clan not only the best album to come out in the 90s not only the best hip hop album but the greatest album of all time.
@bowling4clarity817 Yeah, dog is definitely my favorite album. When people ask me what's my favorite album without hesitation I tell them liquid swords.
One of RZAs wildest beats!! Definitely do 36 Chambers! Liquid Swords is legendary as well. Some sick Ghostface tracks: - One (off Supreme Clientele) - The Champ (off Fishscale) - Iron Maiden and Daytona 500 (off Ironman) - Guillotine Swordz (off Cuban Linx) - He Comes (great De La Soul track with GF feature verse)
Love Killah Priest line - Our poems are deep, from ancient thrones I speak. Meaning we come with the wisdom of ancient kings in rap form. Simply Amazing the craft and penmanship
A British rapper named akala (himself dope) used to do a thing where he would take wu tang and Shakespeare quotes and see who could identify which was which Only hard are wu tang fans actually got them all That’s how dense and linguistically dense their writing is and was
The Rzas verse is referring to the Ebolia outbreak in Africa that happened a few years before this song & his line one hundred & forty four thousand chosen is in the Bible it's God's human army to fight in the final war against satan and his followers
Liquid Swords is chicken soup for the hip hop soul. Every song is absolutely masterful. the production is consistent and showcases RZA's production at its peak. The samples are from Shogun Assassin and fit the theme to the whole album. As for a recommendation, Check out Paper Plates by GZA, its a diss track directed at 50 cent and shows that Wu are not always about deep lyrical meanings. there is a reason they get nothing but praise. if you are gonna review wu albums, start with 36 chambers, Liquid swords, Tical, Return to the 36 chambers: the dirty version (unlike anything you will ever hear, I promise), Iron Man and only built for Cuban links (the purple tape) The last two are basically a Raekwon and Ghost Face double album. all were recorded around the same time and showcase different members of the clan. These are THE essential Wu Tang albums. I also want to thank you for your doing this, I am enjoying seeing your reaction to the music of my youth.
What a great album! Imagine being GZA waiting for beats from RZA and listening to that opening beat for the first time? And then imagine being a rap fan and listening to the beat with these fire rhymes laced all over it for the first time?
This and 7th Chamber are my favourite RZA verses. You should check out the Wu Tang HBO series, even though it was mostly RZA'S vision and not really the rest of the Wu's, it's a great series and dives into a lot of the music. Also recommend Raekwon's book for a different perspective
Ghostface is the GOAT foreal (and I'm not just talkin 'bout The Clan) ..but Killah Priest is the illest. Untouchable when he's focused. Ironman, Supreme Clientele, Heavy Mental, The Offering and Divine Intervention are all "life is too short to miss out on this" type albums. Peace!
yea if you guna do Liquid Swords, you should do Only Built for Cuban Linx as well.. trust me.. along with 36 chambers those, those are probably not only the BEST wu tang albums, but of hip hop as well (Illmatic too lets throw that in, yea im boom bap bias, and Ready to Die I guess and some others).. Ghostface got some dope albums too. some of their affiliates are fire too.

@joselombana8381 I wouldn't go that far at all . I respect your passion for it though.

Amazing album. React to B.I.B.L.E. from Killah Priest
It's the last song on the Liquid Swords album
Love Killah Priest line - Our poems are deep, from ancient thrones I speak.

Killah Priest is a member of the group Sunz of Man. They were the first group signed to Wu-Tang Records

@2apocalypsex oh okay we grew up in the same Era
@2apocalypsex oh OK we grew up in the same Era
I learned the word “truncate” from Gza on this song, lol. Wu-Tang is educational. Wu-Tang is for the children. Word to ODB.
I recommend going through all the first run of Wu Tang albums from 36 chambers to Masta Killa No said Date. You won't regret it.
WHAT?? Who put you up on all this classic material? I'm obviously new here cuz I see you already did Guillotine a few weeks ago. Love it!
Ironman be sipping rum out the Stanley Cup
Good luck with the channel bri
Rza shaved the tracks, 🥷s caught razor bumps...wow

Or you could review this whole album. It's up 2u...

Wow, what I'd give to listen to liquid swords for the first time again 😂 definitely check it out! Have you listened to Supreme Clientel?
RZA is the leader of the Wu-Tang Clan.
..Born in '89??? Girl you don't look a day over 23! God bless you
You have to listen to all of the 1st 7 albums - the 2 group LPs, and the 1st 5 solos.
Cold world off the same album.
Actually, that album is classic.
Method Man is the Face of Wu. React.
