DIY iPhone/iPod Touch Paperclip Stand v2

- This was originally DeanYing's idea.. I just decided to make a few adjustments. His design only supported the iPhone/iPod Touch in landscape mode; if you try to have it in portrait mode, your iPhone will tip over because of the low back support. My version supports both landscape and portrait modes.

Sounds awesome! You should make a video and share it with everyone. ;) Although, I hope you made absolutely sure that it's a really, really secure mod, because I'd hate it if you accidentally dropped your phone. It's only made out of a paperclip, after all.

It's called an annotation. It's a UA-cam tool. Go to your profile > video manager > then edit your video from there. You'll see the option to add annotations. You can customize them, too. In my case, I chose the red bubble, but there are plenty other color options. =)

I made some mods to this and it is now a phone holder that you can attach to your bike :D

Yeah, one thing I like about this stand is it's barely even there. If you place this on any flat surface with your iPhone/iPod on it, it'll look like your device is standing on its own...which I think is pretty cool. I like minimalistic anything. ;)

I appreciate you trying to help Soshi, but she meant the photo in 3:31. The original photo is the one in the small 'polaroid', and the effect she wants to do is the glossy, black and white 'silhouette' with the headphones on. You can see another version of the silhouette in 3:45, no gloss this time.
This is the effect she wants to achieve, not the vignette in the earlier still shots in the video (i.e. 0:04).

You can use any kind, so long as they're not the tiny ones (there are many different kinds of paperclips at any school & office supplies store). I think the ones I used were 2 inches long (still folded). If it unfolds to (or close to) 15.5 cm, then you're good to go. The actual length and measurements don't even really matter. Just get any big paperclip, straighten it, fold it however you want to look like the stand in the video, and you're done.

An effect like that can't be achieved by automated photo-editing apps, sorry. It can only be done manually. I personally used Photoshop (the PC/Mac version, not the iPhone app), but you can try free alternatives like Gimp. :)

Wow, are you making a separate video for each and every brand that's out there? That's going to be a lot of videos for something like that. Maybe you should have made one video that would fit every brand, not just iSheep. I couldn't find the one you made for Android. If you made it for only one brand that's pretty unfair. That's like the bigoted companies that label their products ie headphones and patch cables as compatible only with iPod products. No other brands mentioned at all. Don't you think that sounds bigoted? I would like to know what your viewers think about this.

DBZayan You can adjust the height of the back support, but it will only work for non-phablet devices, and probably only for landscape orientation. The reason why you need the larger/longer paperclip is because you want it to be able to support both portrait and landscape orientations. As for phablets, they will be too large and heavy for this paperclip stand, unfortunately.
