Thoughts on what you’ve seen so far? As a UA-camr I did place an order for channel content but would recommend most to wait for some gameplay footage? Let me know if you agree or disagree.
My question is if the top banner interacts with the actual game rom like it is supposed to, or if it just scrolls whatever custom text you give it. I would be bummed if it is not accurately doing what it is supposed to do, considering NWT whole thing is to be as accurate as possible.

I preordered the Golden Tee cabinet from NWT. It was a great game, and tons of fun to play with friends. I own an Arcade1up Golden Tee cabinet, so I’ll be passing on the optional full-size controller.

Interesting footage. I ordered whole kit. Would have been amazing if the game code was in both devices to change the quantity of devices needed to for play.
My latest concern is why the NWT arcade has fewer machines than my NWT arcade.

It's a littke high with the extra controller but there may have already been an order placed! I do wish the Rom set came preloaded on the controller as well so it could be a standalone system instead of having to run it through the replicade.. that would make the price seem more reasonable to em

The thing that worried me was possibly hitting my knuckle against its screen when playing it, but then I saw Glen's full sized trackball controller and all was right with the world.
I don't have a good way to play Golden Tee right now. The only machine I have with a trackball and the GT games is my 3/4 scale Donkey Kong cabinet, and if you thought James Hates Everything had a rough go on his Arcade1Up, mine is a much more painful experience. I've been waiting for someone to do it right for quite some time and without breaking the bank. I think this will fit the bill.
What I'm most anticipating is if New Wave Toys can find other future Replicades that can use Glen's Golden Tee trackball, so you won't have to buy it more than once. Could you imagine a Silver Strike Bowling, a Power Putt Golf, or other games from Incredible Technologies coming down the pipe? I hope this isn't a one off control deck.

If that big trackball cannot play other games, it's a deal breaker for me. I don't see evidence that it can play multiple games, but I would be shocked if it doesn't have all of that potential.

I've heard great things about the Fore edition, but have never played it. I've only played one Golden Tee Arcade game and to the best of my memory, I think it was 99. I just remember liking it the couple times I got to play it.
If I had my choice, I would've started with Silverstrike Bowling. I do like some trackball bowling.

New wave toys is amazing, but they need to step it up on the next few releases in terms of titles. The owner mentioned having another ear,y eighties title in mind next but I wish he would jump into tekken one first honestly. Tekken one would be as exciting as any street fighter cab they would make. I would like to see a capcom beat em up like final fight or Cadillacs and dinosaurs.

I've been with NWT from the start. I'm really torn on this one. That digital topper is my favorite aspect of the package, and I want to support Glen's involvement. I'll decide last minute, but I'm most upset that it breaks the 80's vibe. And I'm not a huge fan of golf. I'll probably give in to the deluxe, because of my completionist tendencies. the topper, tho!

Yeah I'm not spending that kind of money on something I haven't seen in action. Discount doesn't do anything for me on such a high cost unknown.

Just unfortunately for myself, I don't want the little toy thing. I don't have a collection of toys to add to. I have a few pis and a few Pandora's boxes. Would love that controller. Have a genius woodworker here that could make it but I'd love to buy from glen to support all the cool retro stuff going on in the states and also get to try what is supposed to be the best trackball out there. Win win

I don’t agree that in-game footage is needed. New Wave Toys has consistently delivered a gameplay experience that matches the arcade ROM 1 for 1 and there is no reason to believe that yet another compilation of the first six Golden Tee games would be any different UNLESS something goes wrong between now and when they produce the final product…In which case they would really regret releasing a video of in-game footage now only to have a bunch of disappointed customers when whatever goes wrong, goes wrong.
It’s going to be a very accurate reproduction of the Golden Tee games using commonly available hardware just like original arcade machine as well as the Arcade1Up, it will just be different in that the cabinet will be more accurate and easier to fit on a bookshelf or desktop than a 75% scale, and the external controller will be higher quality than anything A1U has ever released at any price, but probably won’t be attached to a 70lbs+ cabinet to hold it steady.
So, you know… pros and cons.
Hey Thor appreciate the feedback but to piggy back off it...most of the Replicades that have come out have been some basic joystick button games, minus Missile Command. Playing Golden Tee on a replicade though is going to be interesting. And again, I did preorder. The concern I see is playing Golden Tee on a tiny screen with a tiny trackball. I have no concerns about the roms at all, New Wave really never messes that up. My concern is how easy is it to drive, putt, on the replicade itself. I think if people see it plays well on the replicade they might sell a few more units. Obviously the control panel is a bonus for playing on a TV, etc. Just my two cents in regards to marketing this particular replicade, I think Golden Tee might need more of a push to get buyers over the finish line versus some other games they could show us without gameplay before pre-ordering.
@@PDubsArcadeLoft Ah, playing on the scale controls and screen standalone always brings a unique challenge and I’m wondering if I might enjoy that MORE than the full-size experience (with the Replicade sitting next to a video game console and the wireless arcade-quality control deck), but as far as how well it plays, the demo deck may not actually be playable and/or it may be using hardware or software that are different than what will end up in the final product so I think it would be wise for NWT to NOT set inaccurate expectations.
If you are mostly interested in the ability to play the game at scale, maybe wait until after the preorder period and see how it turns out, because although I suspect it will be a ton of fun, it’s not how the game was meant to be played and it may not work out as well as we would hope. 🤷♂️ Personally, I trust NWT to bring a quality product that will be fun to play at scale-but playing with these at scale, for me at least, is not so much about the specific game as much as it about playing with the toy as a whole…. Letting my imagination take hold and fiddle with all the extra features and details, setting up or rearranging a diorama and take some photos, etc. But as far as playing the actual game goes, if I were to be serious and actually play a competitive round of Golden Tee with a friend, I would want the full size 3” Trakball controls no matter how well the .5” replica Trakball works.
That’s why I’m excited to get GRS’ arcade quality controls to be able to play the game as a full sized adult person, but also to have an accurate replica of the classic machine to either keep me company in my office ShelfCade…or maybe stand in an entertainment center among the other video game consoles, collectibles, and display pieces.
I haven’t preordered one yet, but I probably will. I don’t need another Arcade1Up looking out of place in my already full game room, and it might even look out of place in my current office ShelfCade…But it would look pretty cool between the PS5 and Nintendo Switch dock, and it would look completely appropriate next to the Replicade cigarette vending machine.
But pro tip: Preorder one of these WITH the GRS wireless control deck if you aren’t a big fan of golf or Golden Tee but you have a boss that you want to impress who is. Invite them over, or bring the Replicade and control deck to a party, play some Golf and still be the hero even if you suck at the game!

Yes the arcade 1up deluxe. Nope didnt hit my hand, idk what hell James was doing. He over exaggerated. It's no different than playing on the atgames one. You've seen my video on fb about making the track ball nice and smooth. It plays great! The speakers also sound great. It gets pretty loud.

It's just a hard sell. If you're going to sell for this price, at LEAST offer better game selection. And the idea of playing on a trackball so small (not the controller) sounds like a certain sort of hell. Not for me.

Because when I did so in the New Wave Toys Facebook group I got banned within minutes of the post. Even when I was a member from day #1.
Real Talk is New wave toys is a easy pass now. They been asking $160.00+ shipping and tax for there stuff. Now the price is going up, and then they have FlashSales on the same stuff for a price of $59.99.... But somehow still taking in a profit on that price. Burning customers in many ways and showing the real product price is a very bad look.
