Legend has it if you look up pressure fighter in the dictionary a picture of isaac Cruz is all you see lol seriously though he’s a guy who we will remember for pressure fighting when he retires his size low key doesn’t give him a choice to fight any other way and man is he good at it!!! I feel like he was worth a mention
For me the difference between a Swarmer and a Pressure fighter is that a swarmer tries to overwelm their opponent with a high volume of punches constantly being on the attack whilst a pressure fighter cuts of the ring slowly breaking them down and tend to use the jab more often. My top 3 swarmers 1. Henry Armstrong 2. Harry Greb 3. Joe Frazier My top 3 pressure fighter 1. Sam Langford 2. Roberto Duran 3. Julio Casar Chavez
Brandon Figuerora - swarmer Triple G - pressure fighter Isaac Cruz - pressure fighter Shawn Porter - swarmer? Beterbiev - pressure fighter Leo Santa Cruz - swarmer Erroll Spence - pressure fighter David Benavidez - swarmer? Manny Pacquiao - swarmer Brian Castano - swarmer Maidana - swarmer Hurd - swarmer Swarmers mainly try to overwhelm you with volume and a lot of times throw technique to the wayside. Swarmers have great endurance and can be physically imposing. Their relentless work rate doesn't give the opponent time to think. Swarmers are constantly attacking but also susceptible to dangerous counters because of their disregard for defense and technique. Pressure fighters are great at cutting off the ring, are good defensively and don't give you space to move. They also have great footwork that allows them to cut-off the ring.
When you stated swarmers are always attacking, but acceptable to dangerous counters I thought about Manny Pacquiao getting knocked out by Juan Manuel Marquez in their last fight.
Fighting in a phone booth is what I call it. The great ones can throw knockout power in only inches of room to travel to a guys head. Once they get the machine in motion the head is getting rattled like a pinata cause all the punches are inside the other guys defense zone. You won't learn that at Master Joe Kickboxing/Karate class my friends.
you can but it’s much more effective for you if you keep your opponents at arms length, considering u have longer arms than most guys u fight. it’s good for a tall guy to learn how to defend themselves on the inside, so inside fighters won’t beat u up on the inside, but you better just sticking that jab and cross with nice footwork and head movement, nothing more annoying than fighting a tall guy that can box and has power, watch Lennox Lewis, Tommy hearns, Floyd Mayweather, Lewis and Hearns could box well and could also put your lights out real quick, Floyd for ring IQ defense and technique, smart footwork. honorable mention, Riddick Bowe, he was amazing on the inside for a tall guy, his fights against Holyfield were technique and excitement all together.
I personally say Chocolatito and TripleG were the last P4P pressure fighters. New watchers don’t know but Roman was P4P #1 over Pac, Floyd, Canelo, TripleG, S.O.G, Klitschko… first in DECADES for lower weight classes. If you want to see true beautiful pressure fighting watch Chocolatito in 2014-17
Street Fighters are better because not only do we box but we pressure to and are confident in our abilities unlike some TRAINED professionals, plus fighting comes natural to us....we dont have to LEARN how to fight. Our KNUCKLES of steel are our best friends NOT boxing gloves. Im Ryu the 2nd player from Street Fighter and i approve this message.
Floyd doesn’t get enough credit for being a pressure fighter himself after he has his reads locked in…high guard walk down pressure Floyd is under rated

Love watching boxing careers can I have some pressure fighter recommendations past and present
can a tall boxer (6’1) with long reach use this pressure fighting style too? I love pressure fighting .

I want improved my in fighting style because my in fighting style is weak
Pacquiao is the best pressure fighter
Pressure fighting is the future of boxing. No more defense only crap
Only Floyd defeated pressure fighting.
I'd say James toney as well. The more aggressive u got the better toneybwas lol
Floyd doesn’t get enough credit for being a pressure fighter himself after he has his reads locked in…high guard walk down pressure Floyd is under rated
For the most part yes, but Castillo put hands on him. Some would even say Maidanas awkward Argentina style gave Floyd the business
Life is hard. Lot of baits. Everywhere.
Horrible Scorecards For Lomacheko Vs Ortiz. FIGHT WAS A DRAW!
What u talking ,loma won easily
I don’t know what you were watching bro lol Ortiz did better than expected but not good enough for a draw
