Only A Rose happens to be a favorite song of mine, fyi
The softer (musical) side of ‘The Roaring Twenties”. I can imagine the soft-shoe- shuffle dancing by my grandparents. Lovely to hear this. Thanks for those time clips Henri, & Cheers!
Do the abbreviations mean the performers’ genders?

I knew a lady in late1970s - early1980s who was former professional dancer in 1930s. She was the the most enjoyable lady I ever danced with--I feel so fortunate to have the memorable experience with M.W. from Kansas City.........
I have a soft spot for 1920 and 1930s music and I could keep it on for a while especially if I'm resting or trying to clean up my apartment !
A person that has not experienced the pleasure of listening to the collections of Pax41 has missed out on something very fine.
Listen to Pax41
Yes, I feel very fortunate to have found all the producers of this fantastic music!
So nice to have the lilting sounds of the 20’s. Brings me back to sitting with my grand parents when they would pull out the old 78’s and tell us stories of when they first got married. My grandmother was a Zigfield girl and a singer on Broadway in the 20’s and 30’s. So many fond memories this brings back!! Thank you!!
100 years ago simply divine
And now also,.. for musical ears only. 🎻🎺🎹🎼🎶🎵🎷🎸🥁🪕
Beautiful i wish they would play these in coffee shops today that would. be wonderful this music is absolutely beautiful
Peace peace and peace, under the greenwood trees...
You have wonderful taste! Thank you for these not-often-heard selections... very precious! ♥️
I love this so much. Thank you!
Love this genre and this period...the Great War was over, the market hadn't crashed yet, and WWII was yet to come. It was a happy time, however short lived.
I have several post in this genre and will be putting up another one soon.
Just a heads up but starting tomorrow all of my new posts will be released first on the Pax41 Music Time Machine Facebook and Pinterest pages. They will be unlisted here on UA-cam for about two weeks before I release them for viewing. I will be releasing my KPAX41 channel videos without any delay. Just wanted to give you a heads up and thank you for watching.
These kinds of pieces were what you would've heard at fancy nite clubs and formal engagements.
Всем привет ! Какое счастье, что есть такая музыка и Интернет !
Спасибо за просмотр и подписку на канал.
I am a fan of Salon music of the 1920's.
Wonderfully delicate tunes! Thank you for uploading.
Thanks Patrick!
Thank heavens for this, I was specifically looking for a collection of strictly 1920's music for evenings or softer settings, less energetic than most search results. It's that "roaring" bit of the twenties that tends to dominate 😉
Betty there are several more posts like this on the channel. If you search the channel using the words salon music or salon orchestra music you should find them. Let me know if you have trouble and I will send links to you. Have a great day Betty!
I haven't heard alot of these since my house burned down 13 years ago and with it my extensive collection of 78's. Thank you for uploading these!!
I need way more examples of this type of soft genre from this time period. My mind has never been so soothed and enblissed.
You can search the Pax41 Music Time Machine channel using the magnifying glass tool. If you put in the words salon music or salon orchestra you should be able to find all the related music posts.
@@pax41 Thank you for the reply, I will check it out!
these tunes make me think of the cartoons I watched as a kid in the late sixties.
Sweet and calming - nice viewing in troubled times such as these pandemic years - thanks very much.
GREAT MUSIC
I love the artwork, and the music too.
The place where my heart and mind go while listening to this wonderful music is special. I never want to leave.
If you like this you should go to the playlist section on the channel and listen to all the salon music posts I have posted. Thank you for watching Paul.
This really beautiful music always makes my day go better. It is such a soothing antidote to the crude, banal, tiresome stuff that passes for music.
Like fine French (and California) wine, these recordings and your reworking of the material continue to get better with time! Or I just enjoy them more each time I hear them.
I almost believe this should be mandatory listening. Wonderfully done!
You, my friend, have just earned another subscriber with this sweet upload. Thank you so much.
Yes, a softer sound and time. Thank you.
Their music had still melody, Great!
ohhhh Baby, Yer such a Doll!
Thank you Pax41. Every night is a beautiful night when this music fills the air.
Welcome Paul and thank you for watching the channel!
I am thankful you put Irving Berlin's "At Peace With The World" on this collection. Listening to the music Pax41 assembles can make one At Peace With The World.

OH! I LOVE THESE! "FUNNY" Is just Wonderful!
To Pax41 - I really appreciate the trouble you have taken with this upload - many great tunes where I knew the melody but not the name or performer. Thanks to you I now know both.
Welcome Charles and I hope you enjoy the other selections on the channel as well. Thank you for watching the channel.
This is sooo beautiful.
Great set. All so lovely. I
especially like track # 4 and track # 6 is sublime.
Thank you for sharing.
Glad you liked them. I am a bit partial to the song Only A Rose, one of my favorites.
Truly delightful
Glad you liked it.
Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful collection with us. It is indeed a most lovely way of time travel ... truly enjoyable! I had planned to listen to only a few songs. ..that was 3 hours ago. A very nice Sunday evening spent without tv or videos. I shall do this frequently from now on. 😊
Sonja, thank you so much for the kind words and glad you are enjoying the music. Thank you for watching and hope you have a great relaxing day.
Love that rendition of the Doll Dance!
I think it is one of the better ones too.
I love this type of material, which is, for me, always exemplified by the Shilkret bros.' records. I especially like the Nat, the Marek Weber and the Victor Salon Orchestra. Really a refreshing change from either the hot jazz or the vocalist features of the era!
I am always surprised by the music that viewers enjoy the most. I posted this for another viewer that likes this style but turns out it is liked by many.
Glad I could help revive those great memories.
Trombonology Erstwhile
I fell asleep to this. Very wonderful. Thanks for uploading
All beautiful, especially #8!
That is a great version. I posted this since I had a request on a similar video.
Oh, my -- my "tuba and piano" ears are perked up with that first selection of "The Doll Dance". Of course, Nat Shilkret is one of my favorites and you feature him quite often. I am very thankful, of course.
Love me song tuba too Larry!
Thank you for the beautiful music.
Welcome John
Thank you, 🙏This brings back memories of my father who used to listen this on Saturdays🤩
My pleasure 😊
Super excellent with very good interesting photos

You are welcome and thank you for watching!
I just found your channel through PAST PERFECT VINTAGE channel. This is amazing stuff. Takes me back to a time before cell phones and computers when life and music was simpler and great. Thank you so much for your wonderful walk down memory lane. Will be listening everyday now that I found you.
Glad that you enjoyed the music and thank you very much for watching!
This softer, more gentle "Salon Music" is truly a balm to our souls, caressing our minds and feelings with melodies that, I'm sure, Angels very much approve of!!! Thank you for uploading , and God bless you, Pax. You are a God-send to us!! Greetings from Indonesia and Indonesians who are delighted with these melodies!!! Especially with Rudolf Friml's classic "Only A Rose"!!!
How did you like my new Salon music post? It's great having viewers from Indonesia and I would love to know how you found the channel Soetami. Thank you so much for watching and leaving comments! 🙂
So was this played in bar in the 20's

on the Cover 😍
Yes and thought she fit perfectly for the Only A Rose selection.
Lovely music.
Glad you enjoyed it Nancy and thank you for watching the channel.
Thanks.
Always a pleasure to share with you Richard.
GREAT!
Love The Doll Dance Dainty Miss and Rag doll especially but they are all good... there was certainly a mania in the twenties for "doll" type pieces Marigold and Nola are another two that come to mind. As Usual your programming is perfect. Weren't the orchestral arrangements just wonderful love the Hemiolas at the end of he doll dance.... Mental
The arrangements from the 20's and 30's can't be beat!
Adoro esta música🙂
¡ Gracias por ver a María!🙂
Wonderful stuff...
Glad you enjoyed this selection Paul and thank you for watching the channel!

So beauty...!! Thanks!
Pax41: You're the best!
So much memory music!
How do you do it?!
You are amazing!
As much good music as this one to discover...!
Excuse me. My english is not very good.
Greetings from Chile!👋
We' ll see about the donation!😉
Thanks for your words!
@@nachomane7989 You are welcome!
OH! I LOVE THESE!!! SWEET RECORDS INDEED!
I am really surprised at how popular this video has turned out to be. It seems that a fair number of people enjoy this music.
Well These Records strike a wonderful and wistful feeling in those of us who listen to this BEAUTIFUL Music! Some of My first records I ever owned had this sound, And I remember listening to them after school, when dusk was near, and a feeling of HEAVEN Just listening to these make Me feel like I did back then! These artist were just FANTASTIC!
I use to listen to old 1930's and 40's music when I was a teen.
roybo1930
Well said, Roy. I love how you evoke the setting in which you heard this swear, longing music.
It`s so strange, Nobody ever had Me listen to this Music, It just came naturally for some reason or other! And the strange and WONDERFUL Feeling that I got when I first saw a 78 RPM Record! Just like My Cars, Old Electric Fan`s Light Bulbs, I LOVED The Way they Looked, and Sounded! And very few folks understood at that time, Now they know it`s a part of Me!
Doll dance too fire
And Dainty Miss!
I have noticed that the songs listed are all from 1925 and onwards; which makes sense, you would be able to record much quieter audio (like a piano or flute) with electrical equipment.
Prior to electric recording in 1925 the salon music category barely existed in recorded form. Thank you for subscribing to the channel.
Great light popular songs before the advent of top ten mediocre stuff we have today.
Again, Pax, you bring us pax musicum ( that's not the correct Latin, is it?).
I love the slow, very restrained tempo on track 3. It has such sweat tension.
Ah, number 3 is a very nice number indeed. Thanks again for the comments!
Does anyone know where I can get Only One Night (track 4) only in a video or something? Not that the others weren't good, that piece just resonates with me. So beautiful.
Johanna, my guess would be that this track isn't available on a site where you can buy it. I was told that you can download the songs that are posted on UA-cam. You should be able to Google the directions for it.
Thank you and keep it up! I'm not religious, say, but boy you're doing Lord's work. :-)
