Thanks mate you’re a legend! No instructions in the manual so I tried unsuccessfully for about 20 minutes before watching this video...brilliant job 👍🏻
Thank you so much for the tutorial. Having just lost my husband and having no idea on how to thread the machine and the Honda manual was absolutely hopeless your demo stopped me from throwing it in the bin. Once again thanks.
Hi Christine, Glad to be of help well done to get out there and maintain your garden. If you are from the western suburbs in Melbourne come in and we will sell you some great line
Thanks mate. My 96 year old neighbour didn't know hoe to do this, and I said I'd do it, only to find the paper instructions to be fairly useless. After watching this video, I did it in a minute, then did some whipper snipping of course. xD
For the last 18 months I've not let the lawn crew edge or use a weed eater in my back yard. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkx_rBCFuDW1zD6blTGhLkvAkxU657uR_lG I didn't like the fact that they just kept cutting the edge of the lawn further and further from the rock lining the flower beds and leaving bare ground. And the grass was trimmed or scalped several feet around trees, etc. It was a constant battle with them so I told them to just mow and no trimming. I have Zoysia grass so it grows pretty slow. Obviously after a while it could use some trimming. I'm in my 80's so I can't do much of it myself. Finally I decided that if I could find a lightweight battery powered trimmer I might be able to do some light trimming. I decided to buy the LST201 20V trimmer. And it works great for my needs. I have back yard with about 150' of flower beds and several trees to be trimmed. I can lightly trim the whole yard with a single charge! The grass I trimmed was only a few inches high but the trimmer was more powerful than I expected.
Thankyou for the great advice. Works a treat. I just bought a new Honda bent shaft. I restrung it the way Honda reckon you should and I had nothing but grief. Wouldn't feed, kept getting broken off. Honda want you to wind clockwise one side and anti clockwise the other side. I wound it the way you've showed and it's bliss! Cheers👍
I was dumbfounded by this also. The manual basically says to go and buy a new Honda head each time you run out of line, and they retail at about $50. Shameless can grab which seems strange for such a reputable company.
Omg ! I know right !! I’ve just bought a Honda brushcutter, with a bump feed trimmer system… And I just could not believe that this procedure was not mentioned in the manual at all !!
Excellent video, thank you 🙏🏻 just to touch on other comments here… Honda ! - please - include instructions for this procedure in the bloody manual !! It’s absolutely ridiculous that it’s not included there .
Can you pls explain the process for bumping the head to get more line out? Do I need to be On the throttle when I bump it and how hard and long does the hit need to be? Tried it tonight with no luck. Are they usually reliable when bumping?
Cheers mate.. got me bugger why all of these seam to be sold with cheap line already loaded n melts. 😒. Very well taught. Lil tips like pull taught a nice touch. Cheers!
I’m getting the problem where the line melts. I’ve tried a few different types, still melting. Have to keep opening it up and resetting it. What line do you recommend?
Seems to be the correct way to wind on the cord, would be very helpful if Honda put these instructions in the manual,I have been shown 2 other ways to do above by 2 people in the same store,🤔,this clip makes it 3 ways your supposed to do it.
How do you stop WASTING line when the head `accidentally' bumps on the ground and releases more line that is immediately CUT OFF by the cutter on the guard. Those `bump heads' are FAR TOO TOUCHY for my liking and I will be changing mine ASAP to something less wasteful.
The reason this happens is inferior nylon line. Need to purchase genuine Honda Line or Diamond Edge it is no more expensive than Bunnings line and lasts so much longer
Sorry, the camera was too far away from the spool and I could not see what little slots you are hooking the line into or what other little slots you were running the line through. Video not much help, sorry.

Fark yeah, had same issue, well done big fella.
The only clear and obvious instructions in the known universe. Thanks.
Thx for making the video, couldnt beleive the manual had instructions as detailed as doing your own servicing but nothing on changing the line
Yes I agree, nothing on changing the line. Had to rely on Altona Mowerpower

Absolute champion and thank God for UA-cam videos on problem solving

Finally, a vid that explains exactly how to do it. Thanks👍
thanks and well done. i can't understand why something so basic and essential is not covered in the manual

It is covered in my but you need a magnifying glass to read and understand it,ridiculous
Thanks for a fool proof tutorial and clear and precise instructions in pure english well done.
Cheers mate, very helpful. Why would Honda have a left and a right indicator on the head, if there’s only one way to wind it? 😕
What size cord?
What is a GOOD quality line I’m having difficulty 😊with the one I’m using at the moment?
Thanks mate! Helped me and my little brother do it without dads help 🙌🏻

Thank you so much for your very clear instructions!
I was always taught anticlockwise for straight shaft and clockwise for bent shaft?
Cheers mate. Nailed it and it does the job like a bought one 👍👍👍
“Yea g’day” love it
What sized line is used for this model? thanks
I’m getting the problem where the line melts. I’ve tried a few different types, still melting. Have to keep opening it up and resetting it. What line do you recommend?

IT IS NO WHERE NEAR AS EASY AS THIS GUY MAKES OUT, FOR A START...............WHERE DO YOU GET NYLON LINE THAT FLEXIBLE!!!1
How do you stop WASTING line when the head `accidentally' bumps on the ground and releases more line that is immediately CUT OFF by the cutter on the guard. Those `bump heads' are FAR TOO TOUCHY for my liking and I will be changing mine ASAP to something less wasteful.
I do this but the line always sucks itself back into head
The reason this happens is inferior nylon line. Need to purchase genuine Honda Line or Diamond Edge it is no more expensive than Bunnings line and lasts so much longer
Hi, This problem is often caused by inferior nylon Line order some honda Line or quality contractor line from a specialist mower shop..
Thanks, was very helpful
Thanks so much for your help x x
Hi Sam, Not a problem glad to of help...
Thank you sir.
Thankyou. This was one annoying task. I could never get it right.
Can’t even get step one done, the head is fuckin glued on or something
Why cant they just say wind it in the one direction on the head instead of saying both
Thank you!
Thanks !
Thank god for you! The manual is rubbish.
Would be easier to see if you were not holding a black object in front of a black shirt
The hardest machine to wind line onto, wtf was Honda thinking 🤔
Doesn’t help you dont show us where the button is
Thanks heaps!
No Problem Sumi your interesting name tells me you may be from somewhere other than Australia great that I can be of help
Sorry, the camera was too far away from the spool and I could not see what little slots you are hooking the line into or what other little slots you were running the line through. Video not much help, sorry.
Absolutley the worst head of any whipper snipper I have ever used bar none.
Thanks mate
Thanks!
