Import LIVE Crypto Prices in Google Sheets (3 Easy Ways)

- In this video, I'm going to show you how to import real-time cryptocurrency prices into your google sheet or crypto dashboard.
3 methods mentioned in the video:
#1. =GOOGLEFINANCE()
Works well if you want to import basic, popular crypto-token prices.
Supported Google Finance Crypto List: www.google.com/finance/market...
#2. =IMPORTXML()
Use this method if method 1 doesn't work or you can't find your token in google finance.

Hi Tario, have just tried all 3 methods and none of the are working for me, have used AVAX as my test coin.
Method 1: This works for AVAX, but not for BNB, DOGE, FTM or MINA to name a few.
Method 2: "N/A. Error. Imported content is empty.
Method 3: Give me a black cell and the error message "Error.Resource at url contents exceeded maximum size."
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi. it's very useful. However the importXML function appears to result in the input being text so I’m unable to perform any calculations on it. For example multiplying the price by the number of coins I have. Is there any way round this? Please someone help me!!! 🙏🙏

Great video. Very helpful. I have one question - How can we pull the price automatically/semi-automatic so that in code we don't have to type in each coin by hand? Just name the cell by the coin that we want and automatically shows in the code? Hope I hope the question is understandable. Tnx

I tried CMC portfolio but there i cant see avarage buy price as i want. Also i tried to do things by api keys but exchange that i use does not supported, expect koinly. But koinly does not work properly...... so now i know the way..
After a few days the values start to say N/A. Anyways to fix this?

Late to the party, but thought i would try and ask anyway. 3rd method, I cant seem to get it to work for a lot for a lot of coins, it comes back with the error, "Resource at URL contents exceeded maximum size," I tried this with a few coins, BTC, XRP, ADA and I thought maybe it was because it was a 3 character ticker, but then I tried it with DOGE and it still says the same. Works fine for MATIC am i doing something silly???

if im trying to track something valued at less than 1 penny, how would i get sheets so reflect that. im trying to track clay, pavia and copi and all 3 are valued less than a penny, but sheets is rounding up to a whole cent.
You have to keep increasing the decimal point on google sheets

It is very buggy, high lows and volume do not always work with google finance.

First method doesnt work with stablecoins
Here is the million dollar question. This is function from one of my cells: =if(ISNUMBER(B10), INDEX(B:B,10,1)) . It will return number and that works. But if text shows up in the same cell, it will show FALSE. Or if I put in formula " ", it will show nothing. Is it possible somehow that it doesn't return FALSE. If the statement is FALSE, just don't change anything, just exit, without changing contents of cell. I have one cell that sometimes shows text and sometimes numbers. I'd like it that it keeps the number, but if text shows up, it doesn't change anything (IT LEAVES THE PREVIOUS NUMBERS, IT DOESN'T CHANGE THE CONTENT OF CELL IN ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM). I use importHTML in another cell, but sometimes it gives the correct price and sometimes it just says Exchange (text), and that's why it gives me FALSE result, which is not good. I need it for number to stay inside cell. If it is FALSE, ok, no problem, but just don't overwrite the number inside the cell, just exit.

I was wondering the same. Can not multiply with the data that is being generated.
you have to define each column as a string, then you should remake the data into a dataframe or as a xts (timeseries), and then you can perform statistical analysis you want
You can transform the data with =Value(Your data). Like this you can make calculation on it
