D, I put a Garmin Striker 4CV Vivid on my kayak this spring. I noticed that it doesn’t recognize and alarm for fish as often as they are there. It has taken me a lot of time on the water to recognize fish over grass or sticks. I have only caught 2 fish directly because of the finder but I am still happy with it because once I master it I’m hoping to add a few extra catches to my day on the water. Nice bass! I use my fish finder mainly to mark depth, bottom structure and the speed of my kayak. The only time I use it to find fish is when I’m trolling for suspended fish. Not sure how it will work when casting from a fixed position.

I use mine for water temp, depth and to find structure. Not necessarily for finding fish.
