I kind of dig that Iron Factory went in a different direction than most other traditional Transformers combiners. Since this isn't a canon-combined mode, they were given more freedom to make all modes work individually. They weren't tied to making a bot into a specific limb. Kudos to them
First time I was introduced to the djd I thought it would be cool if they could combine then a couple things started adding up, Helex's massive arms, Vos turning into a sniper rifle, Tesarus's shoulders looking like Tarn's and his huge legs. IT ALL ADDS UP! You could say they were built for each other haha
Just got done combining mine, I went with the purple versions, looks great but if I had to quote jobby the hong, "forged by bloodied hands and thinning patience"
This is a combiner that makes absolutely no sense to me. The DJD combine to form a large Tarn who himself is a member of the DJD? It's like the combaticons forming a larger onslaught, the stuntacons forming a larger motormaster, or the constructicons forming a larger longhaul. I don't understand it. Someone please help.....
I'm surprised they still haven't done a box set where the colors are coordinated to suit the combined mode and just make him look like Tarn. The first thing I though when I first saw it was that they would do that, but they haven't.

OMEGA-DJD-SUPREM-IRION-ICUS ! this guy is great i bought 2 of each so i can have a combiner and the bots displayed, love it ! great video thank you mr skullface,
For me, the combiner mode is more about giving us an MP scaled Tarn action figure than it is about making the team combine. I think it's a cool option and would seriously consider displaying them combined. The main things putting me off are that they look so good separate and that the beige is a bit too contrasty and obviously wrong for Tarn in combined mode.
great review as always 1 thing to point out combined mode also has a butterfly joint for the arms, might be a bit tight first time doing it but its there
So now I just await for some daring company to make the combiner from the IDW comic "The Waiting Game" that consisted of Megatron, Overlord, Sixshot, and Shockwave...
The DJD...as a combiner...yeah, that whole idea still bugs me. It's like the bigger bots are the actual combiner, and both of the smaller bots are just weapons (instead of the one that's actually a BFG). Looks cool, just not for me. Especially with all the partsformery lunacy.
I love the DJD’s designs, and how they were portrayed in the comics. I was skeptical of a combined mode when I heard about it, but given Iron Factory’s track record I was hopeful. Seems like they really knocked it out of the park overall.
Whether Iron Factory when in the design process intentionally or unintentionally thought of combining the team, the manner in.which each figure has been designed and produced has lent itself to an interesting concept for a non combining team. I enjoyed the process of combining the pieces like a jigsaw puzzle however they will always be on my shelf in individual bot modes. Again I believe Iron Factory are 3rd Party company of the year.
Every time I see you messing around with this set I feel the urge to buy it but then I look at a complete set of the MMC DJD and my heart aches with the thought of not getting them. I've finally made my decision... I'm irresponsibly getting both sets, even if it takes years and loads of money I'm getting them both. I love these characters, I love this companies, I love Transformers and most of all I love Action Figures. I think I may have an... action figures addiction!!!! Thanks for the review Mr. Skullface.
Great review. The combiner looks amazing! Love how its just an upscale verse of Tarn. I like how one of the guys becomes the double fusion cannon. I feel that combiners need those extra pieces to work right. Like the statue for this one and the trailer for the Iron factory Bruticus trying to force those things into the bots hurts one of the bot modes to much. The only thing I don't like is the sniper guy since he doesn't change and the Double fusion cannon looks better. Maybe if he was worked into the combine form as a shoulder cannon or something else.
How to combine: Tarn: Tuck him in like Prowl (Lio Junior) from BWII that combines to Magnaboss (no parts forming excluding cannon holders) Tesarus: Remove his arms to create shoulder pauldrons, remove grabby arms to flip upside down, open chest like BWII Ironhide (Santon) from BWII when Magnaboss, remove head and tuck into missile pod, point toes up (very little parts forming) Helex: *PULL THAT BITCH APART LIKE COG AND THE WEAPONIZERS!* Kaon: Make into arm cannon Vos: Gun
Yet again, another 3P company shows us why parts-forming is a positive element in combiners. The parts-forming takes on unnecessary tasks that would otherwise ruin individual bots, and look at how much all of these guys accomplish!
Only Nickel is missing, maybe they could add her to the team and the combiner (that has always an available attachment for the fusion cannon on one arm, maybe it could accomodate Nickel if she had a weapon or shield transformation).
I don't care about partsforming. This is awesome! (I don't get the hate for Partsforming cause the original G1 Optimus Prime toy needed you to take off his hands in order to turn into a truck)
Thanks for another great tire. I as always appreciate your opinion on this tire. I always wonder if the guys and gals that lend these things to you ever watch the review with their heart in their throats. Or do you call them immediately after recording to tell them it's okay lol..... tire.
I know you aren't a KO fan but what would your opinion be if these were upscaled or oversized say Chug or MP...can you see any negatives/positive to it being the scale it is? I love this as well as the MMC versions of characters but the scale for me specifically is what kinda turned me off and price.
DAMN! That thing looks great when it is combined. But it is very small, very expensive AND... THIS is NO Transfromer! This is a damn PUZZLE!!! Nothing for me...
I was hoping to hear some words about how it feels compared to IF's Bruticus, but then I remembered Bobby doesn't own that figure so it likely wouldn't be part of the review.
Its a stupid and unnecessary feature, fairly badly implemented and 1 that I kind of resent paying for tbh as I'm sure its inflated the price and compromised small parts of the bots and alt modes. I'll never be using it. And that all sounds really negative but lets be clear, I love these little bots, just not this bit.
this is why iron factory makes the best transformer. the combined mode is great without sacrificing anything from other modes
But you have to take the figures into a million pieces
I feel like this is a set that will look better displayed as a team than combined
I kind of dig that Iron Factory went in a different direction than most other traditional Transformers combiners. Since this isn't a canon-combined mode, they were given more freedom to make all modes work individually. They weren't tied to making a bot into a specific limb. Kudos to them
Unfortunately, that just made it a giant parts former.
The combination is just a giant tarn and I love it

Thank you Uncle Bobby Bones
The combined form really does just look like a really big, discolored tarn
AND nos they really work así a team to hunt the traitors of the Decepticon cause, well done
Aww yeah!
Thanks for the upload Mr. Skullface! I've been waiting for this 😁

This mode seems completely unnecessary to me. I would never leave them in combiner mode. I love their bot modes too much.
Geez what next, the Dinobots combine into a huge Grimlock?.....wait.....that might be cool.

This is really intuitive but this would be a nightmare for me to combine this set
how big is it to there bruticus
It's slightly bigger than IF's War Giant.
This is cool did they combine in the comics?
Nevermind about that statement

Combined mode is just giant Tarn
Real talk: What are we gonna name this combiner?
I don't think you would have encountered half of the issues if you had just slowed the hell down and took your time with the combination.
So does this mean Coppa was basically the Y2K of this era??
That baise is the only thing that doesnt mesh well
Jeez they would be so over powered then and already is.
This is more of a “mugenbine” than a traditional “combiner”.
I absolutely hate how it parts forms, only issue I have. Makes me mad
