as a college student, last 2 months was my vacation and going back for my 3rd yr now. i fkd up my sleep schedule and i literally sleep in the noon so i would probably fit a night shift.
what I understood the story to be, because it can be low-key confusing: the girl in the red dress worked in the company and was bullied by her superiors and her boss, constantly having to do other people's work and work overnight. At the beginning we see a note saying that the previous guard, keigo ochigi, disappeared. But in the first ending, after we die, our shift seems to start all over again and in the top corner we see our real name - keigo ochigi. We are the guard who disappeared, and Keigo was dating the girl in the red dress, cheating on his wife. However, we then saw two colleagues talking about how one of them snatched keigo from the red dress girl, so this man literally double cheated, (keigo is the ultimate scumbag) which caused the red dress girl to kill herself. We even see Keigo's note saying that he plans to quit after what happened to her.. but the reason why he disappeared is because he was put into purgatory, while he was in a comma in real life. He was reliving the girl's pain over and over (you can see how many times he died trying to put in the code but they were all wrong) remembering his kid's birthday is what got him out of the purgatory. Chilla's art stories are honestly amazing!

Some people simply don't enjoy getting scared but still want to watch the video nonetheless, others need to be careful because of their weak heart etc. If you don't need that list- great! The way he was yelling at the top of his lungs "WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?!?!" and then immediately became calm and started doing a voice at 19:48 was hilarious.
This game had fantastic scares. A couple of the other Chilla's Art games only got me once or twice, but this one had me flinching like I was actually there several times lol
29:56 scared me so damn bad I screamed, shoved away my laptop screen, and then had a physical reaction so intense that I actually pulled a muscle in my leg 😭

The whole thing with the number 4 in Japanese is that they use the word yon more often, because shi(the other word for 4) also means death. They do the same thing with the number 7. Instead of shichi, they normally use nana.

From what I gathered when playing, you're in a coma and the night you was pushed down the stairs constantly replays until you can remember your daughters birthday. The girl in red is the crazy girl that loves you (I think they are an ex because its talked about how the security guard left a woman for another woman) and you view her as a monster chasing you throughout the game. That's why each floor gets creepier and creepier because you're getting closer to the moment you was put in a coma. Just a theory but I think the last tape that says i love you is her confession to you before she pushed you because of the rejection

As ever with the Chilla's Art horror games, for those of you who're curious about what the signs and posters and suchlike say, go watch Evelien's playthrough as well. Unlike Sean, Gab's fluent in Japanese, and typically takes the time to read and translate the text that Chilla doesn't include subtitles for, which adds an extra layer of context and meaning to the horror.
5:40 When Jack said this, I had a flashback to freshman year in high school. When I walked into the nurses office, I noticed a few people crowded inside the little break room but what really caught my attention was the tall blond sitting on the copy machine, printing copies of his ass. He looked up and caught my eye, smiling sheepishly and said "don't tell anyone" as I shrugged my shoulders, grabbed a juice out of the fridge and walked out of the nurses office. I didn't tell the nurses cuz they were busy with students at the time and I didn't think it was a good idea to bring it up in that moment. I still wonder those copies were meant for but at least it was a memorable bit of high school.

Same! A lot of video games (and books, etc) let us practice empathy, putting ourselves in someone else's shoes. Over the years, it's been awesome to watch Sean grow that empathy to where he's able to talk about feelings and a lot of other stigmatized/outsider topics like depression and anxiety. That's helped build a pretty inclusive community, and even things as simple as choosing to play these games set him apart from a lot of other people (who wouldn't play a game that wasn't perfectly polished in its English localization, for example). The community reflects the creator a lot of the time, and this one is super welcoming, super diverse, and full of people who have been on the outside of things (and maybe thought they were the only ones).

Always on high alert on a new site, but after three days the only thing that alerts you are any unusual sounds for that area and you feel comfortable enough to yodel on patrol (I don't yodel, but you get the idea). Scariest thing I've found though, is how quickly you burn during the day in the summer after being nocturnal for so long.

From what I gathered when playing, you're in a coma and the night you was pushed down the stairs constantly replays until you can remember your daughters birthday. The girl in red is the crazy girl that loves you (I think they are an ex because its talked about how the security guard left a woman for another woman) and you view her as a monster chasing you throughout the game. That's why each floor gets creepier and creepier because you're getting closer to the moment you was put in a coma. Just a theory but I think the last tape that says i love you is her confession to you before she pushed you because of the rejection

As ever with the Chilla's Art horror games, for those of you who're curious about what the signs and posters and suchlike say, go watch Evelien's playthrough as well. Unlike Sean, Gab's fluent in Japanese, and typically takes the time to read and translate the text that Chilla doesn't include subtitles for, which adds an extra layer of context and meaning to the horror.
5:40 When Jack said this, I had a flashback to freshman year in high school. When I walked into the nurses office, I noticed a few people crowded inside the little break room but what really caught my attention was the tall blond sitting on the copy machine, printing copies of his ass. He looked up and caught my eye, smiling sheepishly and said "don't tell anyone" as I shrugged my shoulders, grabbed a juice out of the fridge and walked out of the nurses office. I didn't tell the nurses cuz they were busy with students at the time and I didn't think it was a good idea to bring it up in that moment. I still wonder those copies were meant for but at least it was a memorable bit of high school.

A lot of video games (and books, etc) let us practice empathy, putting ourselves in someone else's shoes. Over the years, it's been awesome to watch Sean grow that empathy to where he's able to talk about feelings and a lot of other stigmatized/outsider topics like depression and anxiety.
That's helped build a pretty inclusive community, and even things as simple as choosing to play these games set him apart from a lot of other people (who wouldn't play a game that wasn't perfectly polished in its English localization, for example). The community reflects the creator a lot of the time, and this one is super welcoming, super diverse, and full of people who have been on the outside of things (and maybe thought they were the only ones).
