I LOVED Princess Jane in this! There's a fairy tale princess with some personality! She's beautiful, dainty, and friendly, yet at the same time she could probably hold her own in a bar fight! Her laugh in the beginning is cute, too!
The actress that played the princess was Emogene Cocoa - is is a female version of Buddy Hackett! She was a "character " actress! She would always play crazy, luney, & silly parts.
Princess Jane is a representative of the kind of women I find attractive: kind, intelligent, funny, and strong. I hope I meet someone like her in real life,
There was once a live-action movie of "Emperor's New Clothes" starring Sid Ceasar and it also had a song called "Clothes Make the Man," but it was sung by the Emperor.
I had an idea for one of those dumb “crossover” videos that people make; it’s just that it was based around a pre-existing piece of property that actually existed. Disney had a book about “The Emperor’s New Clothes”, and it featured Prince John and J. Worthington Foulfellow. In other words, Prince John and Foulfellow would be in the same roles as they were in that book, but we get more characters like Gideon (as Mufty; and like Foulfellow, Gideon was also in the official Disney crossover book; this time he talks as originally intended), Maid Marian (playing the role of the princess), Fidget (as the Jester) Pegleg Pete (as the Guard who sends Marmaduke to the Bolevard of Rogues) and Pinocchio (as Busky, Marmaduke’s child accomplice).
I saw all the rankin and bass specials as a child but how did I miss this one?!?! As for Hans Christian Andersen his fairytales were way too dark and sad especially the little mermaid!!! I hated it!!
The little mermaid does have a sad ending, but at least she became the fairy of the winds and after 300 years in the service of children she will go to heaven. I grew up on the original tales and they’re necessary lessons children must learn, especially the little mermaid: don’t give your everything for someone that doesn’t care about you.
Danny Kaye, Yay!!!! I also saw the school teacher from Santa Claus is coming to town & other characters from other movies that they did! Love these Easter eggs!
here are a list films with live action and animation like i said before 1940 - Fantasia 1942 - Saludos Amigos 1944 - The Three Caballeros 1946 - Make Mine Music 1946- Song of the south 1947 - Fun and Fancy Free 1948 - Melody Time 1964 - Mary Poppins 1966 - The Daydreamer 1971- Bedknobs and Broomsticks 1972 - The Emperor's New Clothes 1977 - The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh 1977 - Pete's Dragon 1982 - Tron 1988 - Who Framed Roger Rabbit 1989 - Honey, I Shrunk the Kids 1992 - Cool World 1992 - Evil Toons 1996 - James and the Giant Peach 1996 - Space Jam 1999 - South Park Bigger, Longer & Uncut 1999 - Fantasia 2000 2000 - Blues Clues Blue's Big musical movie 2000 - Dinosaur 2001 - Osmosis Jones 2003 - Looney Tunes: Back in Action 2003 - The Lizzie McGuire Movie 2004 - The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie 2008 - WALL-E 2014- The Lego movie 2015 Spongebob movie out of water 2020 - The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run 2022 - Blue's Big City Adventure
Because just like what this dude said it’s a rare rankin bass special like the ballad of Smokey the bear or Willy McBean and his magic machine and The Daydreamer So it is rare to find these films in hd quality
@KodaRiley99 I meant that as sort of a complaint that movies, TV shows, and specials. Don't have this attention to detail for their work, and sometimes it ruins the story.
The puppet used for Marmaduke is also the same one used for Seymour S. Sassafras from Here Comes Peter Cottontail. I’m sure it’s obvious since they’re both voiced by Danny Kaye
It's possible, but not likely to be the exact same model. My friend (a big r/b fan) once told me there were something like 15 of them made (if I remember right).
I'm so excited for new Beetlejuice movie this September before My visit with mommy Robyn and grandpa Robert and I'm going to church event at our church tomorrow night ❤❤❤❤
Mad Monster Party (the Rankin Bass Halloween movie) is one of my all time favorite movies and I can’t seem to find it anywhere, but finding another Rankin Bass gem helps fill the void 🥲
I thought about posting that one aswell one of my favs too, Im kinda iffy about it I feel like it might get flagged. Ill have to look into it. I wanted to post Pinochios Christmas aswell but it looks like theyre renting that one out. Its kinda hit n miss with them.
Thank you for putting together this video!! UA-cam is definitely how I learn about upcoming dolls and dolls that are different from Barbie. Also your voice is very relaxing to listen to 👍🏽
True Mr Has C Anderson must've put up with some crap in his time, the more the world changes everything stays the same.... Surrounded by fools and opportunists 😌
Today the boy who says the emperor was naked would be arrested, put in a reeducation camp, (or extra time in public school!) and media would warn of the evil misinformation of anyone who dared say he was naked!!

Ya know Princess Jane reminds me a Lot of Princess Daisy. Both are Athletic Royalty who love soft spoken men. Daisy with Luigi Jane with Marmaduke Tho her laugh is a bit of a Turn Off
Agreed. Tim Burtons films:Coraline,The Nightmare Before Christmas, Corpes Bride plus a few more were all made with a similar technique. I prefer this over cgi. Theres a much different feel to stopmotion animation. Every character had their own puppeteer and so they all had their own unique livelyness and personality. The hands on approach gave thigs a much more cared for detail. Imo
I remember watching this on channel 5 a family film festival when I was a kid there is 1 cartoon that I am just really want to know the name of and I can't remember it but the starting of the cartoon had these monkeys in the trees And I think it was like a pastel colored type Look to it and it was really artistic I know What the name of it was there might have been a scene about someone going into someone's stomach it was strange but does anybody know what cartoon this is I'm talking about?
Wow I used to love these as a kid and I'm about to watch this one now but looking back for 1972 I hate to say it the live action scenes look like 1952. No diversity whatsoever but I forgive this one because of the time.
Had no idea Rankin/Bass did anything other than Christmas/Holiday stories.
Lost Media?
Me either
Did they not make the Hobbit and Lord Of The Rings?
@@andrewcarlton6196Ralph bakshi did fellowship and two towers rankin/bass did return of the king
Don't forget Mad Monster Party.
I like how princess Jane is slightly unhinged / insane.
Made her more sexy and adorable imo

@@MsDana-mo9fp This is the third time that she worked with Danny Kaye her first time was in 1937 when danny was in his 20's
Drawing out secret plans on a cake and then eating it is actually low-key genius
I never seen this film but I’m so glad to find it!!
All respects to the Japanese animators!
Danny Kaye is one of my favorite actors of that time period.
His Hair is so long i am so used to his hair shorter
Gosh, I love Rankin Bass Stop Motion and I’d never even heard of this. Thanks so much for sharing.
I grew up watching many of the Rankin/Bass features, but had never heard of this one! Thank you for uploading!
Princess Jane is a representative of the kind of women I find attractive: kind, intelligent, funny, and strong. I hope I meet someone like her in real life,

I don't remember ever seeing this one! Thank you!
Very good job dudes!! Congratulations 995.45% yo. Yay! Better quality! Thank you!

You could use Marmaduke as the basis for a rogue in Dungeons and Dragons.
