It's quality versus price. You can get better vodka that costs more, and you can get worse ones that cost less. Smirnoff is right in that midpoint where it's good enough yet affordable.

vodka is vodka mostly, its not something I drink straight so cheap is fine. I guess for cocktails you want a good one, but I'm not into cocktails.
I will say tho, there are some that claim to be just "vodka" as in not listed as a flavored vodka yet will have vanilla taste. or others that have a strange taste I can only describe as crushed black ants..
A very good cheap one used to be Russian Standard. but it seems with the war and imports from Russia, it's now hard to get and expensive.
$13 lol Here in Australia it's about $50--55. AUD ($33 to 36 USD)
All of that cost is just tax. Cigarettes are the same here. 2/3 of the cost goes to the government. If they ever legalize cannabis here, that too will be a stupid price with most of it being taxed.
They are going hard on cracking down on vapes.. Why? cos it's not regulated and taxed by them..
I heard everything is crazy expensive in Australia, especially clothes!

Just filter it a few more times and it will taste like better vodka.
even 100+ times filtration wont help bad water :(
