Yep, i hear you. Same. We make smoothies. No magazines or paid subscriptions. I've reduced the amount of amazon packages for sure. Scary, but kast year...drum roll....150 packages during last year!!😮 Get me to the fainting couch... Drastic reduction. Reduction in clothing purchases. Definitely a thrift store shopper. Kitchen gadgets, same. Knife snd cutting board works fine.
I'm in the process of downsizing and giving to others. I'm done cleaning all these items🙄
Awesome improvements! There are so many areas we can make small changes that it really do add up!
@momwifeandeverydaylife yes!!
I have some similarities to your list. I made a list of 25 items I would not buy this year. Funny story, my kids knew what was on my list, New Year’s Eve my 14 yr old said can we get a stuffed waffle maker? This was 11:30 that night so yes still 2024, it was on sale and a coupon on Amazon (😮) and less than $15 so I said sure last kitchen appliance I will be buying (unless of course an item we use all the time such as our air fryer breaks, I will replace. It was so funny to me the timing!
@@Puzzleguru1313 I love that! You hear about people doing no-buy or low-buy, but that is difficult and vague. The 25 items is a perfect plan!
@ yes that is why I did the items list I stopped buying tortillas I thought ok I have the ingredients and I can control the ingredients. We have a dairy free and I have another child with severe peanut allergy and reading labels is a constant even products of the same brand can be made in different facilities based on multi pack etc as I am sure you are aware! Thinks for the reply!
@Puzzleguru1313 Yes! Peanuts of course are so much more serious.
We are fortunate that little slip ups are not a serious concern. But yes it is so tricky. We learned a lot in the first few years. For example the fig bars we bought were dairy free but other brands included dairy, so I quickly learned you can't make general statements about what is safe or not. Constantly trying to improve and make more from scratch!
With your library card, you get Libby (e-books), Hoopla (e-books and commercial free movies), and Kanopy (commercial free movies). There are monthly limits on movies, but not on kids content. I took my kids to things like Disney on Ice many times, and the $25 flashlight thing is required to defeat the monster (the cool kids all bought them). In the show: "Okay kids, we need you to all point your magic flashlights at the bad guy!"
I feel like libraries have really stepped up their game. They can be really great resources. That is so crazy on the Disney on Ice tactic!
