To quote Susan B. Anthony, “the bicycle has done more to emancipate women than any one thing in the world. I rejoice every time I see a woman ride by on a bike. It gives her a feeling of self-reliance and independence the moment she takes her seat; and away she goes, the picture of untrammelled womanhood."
You saved my girlfriend and I from going absolutely crazy trying to decipher what she said at the beginning.. "isn't there... A Susan b Anthony quote about... "
So glad too see this story! Fruita is where I learned the freedom a bike can bring to a child! The hot tomato was always controversial around school growing up for such a silly reason and it's so uplifting to see how well they integrated and how much they helped the community over the years
These people. That place. The message. Community, nature, peeps, and THE PIZZA! I remember visiting Fruita a few years ago and the two places which left a place in my heart were the bike shop and The Hot Tomato. Thanks girls! Thanks Fruita! Thanks Patagonia!
This is so good! So Good! Life is so good and this little video just remind me of it. Great filmmaking, great landscapes, Great bike riding and the that pizza made me freakin' hungry. Cheers, Steve aka The Talking Fly
These trails and this pizza are a stable on our annual Western Slope / Moab pilgrimage in the fall. We love this little pizza joint and the experiences are always great. We always stop by after hammering the local trails, covered in dirt, full of smiles and empty bellies. The Hot Tomato delivers every time. So cool to see the story behind the area and the pizza place. Nice work, keep it up!
I'm damn fired up! Great people doing great positive things! So inspiring! Livin' free in the land of the free! These two women are the real deal! Thank You!
Bloody brilliant! This is the best story I've seen all year, and possible in years. I wanna go there and meet these two, their energy is infectious even through the screen.
Love this story. Fruita mountain biking and Hot Tomato have been faves for a number of years but I never knew the story behind Hot Tomato. I am amazed by these two ladies as well as their mad mountain biking skills. Way to be brave on so many levels.
Those staff! Very special mentorship and walking the talk going on in this house of pizza. Inspiring and heartwarming these 2 are. I've been to Fruita to ride those amazing trails and would for sure be getting a pizza (or 2) when I go back.
I visited GJ for the first time in May. Every single person I talked to said if you want pizza, go to Hot Tomato. The vibe and food was amazing. I will be back.
Wow! Those two old ladies can rip!!! So inspiring. What courage and determination?!? Thank you for being so inspiring. What’s better to show the love and unite the world than beer, bikes and pizza???
Amazing, love this. Thanks to everyone --Jenn and Anne, trail builders and the landscape itself- I've had some amazing times in the Grand Valley, and the community vibe is apparent.
"one episode too many!" Small joke layered within the "Murder she wrote" gimme joke. love it. That's some golden writing in a piece of branded content.
I am a 29 year old man and I really don't know why this video gets me everytime. The feelz are too realz. I hope to visit the hot tomato and go mtbing in their neck of the woods.
We went to Fruita, rented bikes at Over the Edge, rode 18 road, then ate a pizza at The Hot Tomato. We loved everything, what a great town, great people. Can’t wait to come back 🙂
Very inspiring! I've never watch an ad before. I usually skip ads. This one grabbed me from the beginning! Well done! Your community is fortunate to have such passionate leaders!
You’re all absolutely awesome. I just moved to Colorado, mainly for the community and the mountain biking. Having also grown up in Jersey I’m super excited with the idea of coming to visit Hot Tomato, and seeing the Fruita community. Keep up the good work!
the "let's hate something/anything together" mentality will always be a part of our species, simply because hate is a (maybe the) great catalyst... but if you love oil and hate bikes, your time is up, i don't even care to elaborate :} wish you all the best Jen and Anne. this was a great production, thanks for sharing and for the effort from everyone involved.
UA-cam Rocks. How else would I ever get exposed to content like this. I have driven through Grand Junction like 4 times in my life. Now I just want to go there as a destination to check out Hot tomato.
Great movie and very inspiring. The way to a communicative inclusive community is through its collective stomachs! Now I'm hungry for pizza. Cheers from Sydney, Oz - Dave
Easily one of my favorite videos on UA-cam. Awesome pizza place. Cool owners. Mountain biking. Beautiful countryside. Groovy people. “I gotta buy another PIZZAAAA!!!”
“Cause I definitely don’t want to go back to New Jersey” hahah SAME! I grew up there so I’ll always love it but man, oh man, I was happy when I moved away. Good for you!!
Hot Tomato is the best Pizza in the valley period. If you come to Fruita and don't have Hot Tomato, you wasted your trip and truly missed out on a great place to enjoy amazing pizza and great staff.
Spent some time last year in Fruita. Rad spot, love that little town, it has its magic for sure. The Hot Tomato has some tasty pizza and rad people in there. I’ll make my way back there in the future. Stoked to see this video!
I saw this film at the Banff Tour in Boulder, CO. I've actually been to this pizza place in Fruita years ago while attending a dog show in Grand Junction, but did not know the story behind it. It was great to see Fruita again from afar!
I'm so East Coast rat race...UGH.....take me away to Fruita......i'll take a hot slice, a dusty trail, and never come back.........Jen and Anne - thanks for making the west WILD!!!
Darn I'm getting up early tomorrow to leave after enjoying three weeks of mountain biking in Fruita and vicinity. What an amazing place and I felt the positive energy in the community and loved it. My only regret is I didn't visit your pizza parlor and meet you both. Next time.
The Matt Smith dude is so rad! Love his stoke level.
Haha! So true. He's the best!

It's undercurrent is that it's ultimately an advert for Patagonia, but.... it's awesome!

Why do you think leaving Moab was a wise choice?
Amazing. More of this, and humanity will be just fine.
