Mayor Thao CRUSHING OAKLAND.!!!!
What a tragedy of a nice hotel. All because the city won't enforce laws to stop crime. People are giving credit to the mayor? Stop. Over the years it went down.
No, the Mayor of Oakland is facing a Recall vote and I'm pretty sure she will be out of a job
Good job newsom! You and these district attorneys and judges that refuse to deal with crime.
Soft on Crime had its privileges.
Many many memories there. The Raiders cheerleaders used to have tryouts there, boy did we sure have a lot of fun. JT the brick used to announce his raider radio show from the bar. We watched games there and I even got topped off in the bathroom 😂
Way to go city of Oakland 👍
They are moving to Las Vegas
So am I.
This breaks my heart... I personally knew EGIGU "GIGI" LEMMA. About 29+ years ago. I would always stay at the airport Hilton Hotel with my father as a young kid.. We would stay when the visiting teams would play the Oakland A's. GIGI would help point out a bunch of various players. I remember one time GARY PAYTON was jus mulling around the hotel one day durring the NBA off season...
GIGI said "Thats GARY PAYTON!" The staff was pretty friendly back in the 90's if you stayed there. You could get autographs from super stars without hassles. I remember getting Frank Thomas when he played for the white soxs there. At 1st I was delighted to see GIGI's face again after many decades. But I'm very sad for him and his career coming to and end. I hope for the best of luck to him and his family... not to mention the entire staff at the Hilton as well....
But mayor sheng said crime is going down!
It is. 911 goes down means less calls. Less calls mean less crime. Brilliant.
What sweet hard working folks, loving coworkers and there job....rare now a days
I've been defending Oakland for years now, but seeing the city slide backwards into the 90s again is heartbreaking. I don't know what the hell city leaders are doing, but they are failing the honest residents and workers who keep everything running. The sports teams leaving aren't their fault, that came down to greed from the billionaire owners. It is going to be a long time before we see Oakland turn things around again if they continue at this pace.
Who wants to travel through Wokeanda to support the remaining local team and economy, knowing the thugs will rip you off if you stop for more than a few minutes? You voted for this type of 'leadership'...own the consequences of your choices.
said " I've been defending Oakland for years now, "
The real question is, whom had you been voting for all of those years?
@Zorbino88 This is such a misguided post. I spent 26 years living in the bay area and Oakland was NEVER worth defending. It sure as hell isn’t now. The sports teams leaving ABSOLUTELY has to do with the surroundings and how bad they were. You will NEVER draw big crowds when there is real danger and risk involved with going to games. ALL of the owners of ALL pro sports teams are greedy billionaires, so that argument falls totally flat and you know it. You just have a stupid agenda to push.
The '90s in Oakland were glory days compared to what's going on now.
@@Zorbino88 Well more Democrat rule and Kamala in the white house it can go back to the stone age
Time to celebrate and do a victory parade for Sheng Thao/Pamela Price. They have accomplished a lot in a very short tenure. it ain't over till the Oakland Airport shuts down.
You get what you vote for.
Oakland 100% deserves this. I remember Oakland was actually getting nice
I know the residents of Oakland didn’t vote for this and they need to demand the elected officials provide safety in this area or vote them out.
They did vote for it.. 😄
The voted for the same people who said they would defund the police, pushed the no chase policy, said you cant arrest people because its racist, welcomed the homeless and all the r.v's with open arms.. they got exactly what they voted for 😄😄😄😄

Yes, we all watched the video. What is your point? Why do you comment this kind of stuff on these and Price Is Right videos?
@@Johnfisher12345yeah I missed it so it was a helpful comment
Hmmm…maybe society is better off when crime is punished
Oakland is not going to last as an entity.
Great, there goes my dream trip to Oakland. 🙄😆
Stop voting for the dems.

The mayor will respond that crime is down by 3% this year...
Aren’t local and state politicians saying that crime is down? Why would these businesses need to close because of crime if that is true? These establishments have gone out of business, hundreds of people have lost their job, these services are no longer available in Oakland, etc…. You would think that all of the folks that are adversely affected by the Hegenburger “crime corridor” would start voting differently, yet they won’t.
crime reporting is down, people have learned it makes no difference.
Business failures are rarely from crime. They blame crime to exit without scrutiny.
@@markpreston6930 funny stuff. In and Out Burger closed its first restaurant ever right there on Hegenberger because of the daily crimes that happened in the parking lot. WALMART closed a store there due to theft. it is 100% about the crime there.
Crime may be down due to far fewer businesses to leach off.
@@michaelmacpherson-wm6mh That dated hotel has been a dump for decades. I worked on Roland Way near Oakport 25 years ago. The area was a 70’s disaster area then.
The Hilton used to really be a nice place! I have many of great memories here. So sad… All that’s left is the Airport. Hopefully they don’t close JSX.
When you admit your failures and understand your failures you can turn that failure into a success. 🤔
Thank you vice president for all your help you deserve to be president
blame democratic judicial policies soft on crime
Gavin is the best!
A governor has nothing to do with things like this
Gavin is the leader n it's on him!
Build back better and more to come when we elect Harris 2.0. Yeah. I'm so excited for our community.
Lol that's a great one
Build back better is rebuilding the countries infrastructure and bring jobs back to America from overseas...I'm not sure what you think it is?

Kamala has done a wonderful job at Oakland.
Harris is not the Mayor of Oakland or the Governor of California
In terms of governance Harris never had anything to do with Oakland.

I'm surprised McDonalds and Taco Bell are still hanging on down there...for now.
Not for long because Hilton was the only job there with out of town customers. All of the other big Hotels shut down and that is shameful and sad
Whoever at Hilton HQ who kept this location open so long needs to be fired.
Will Oakland voters finally fix the problem by voting out progressives in November?
Doubt it. They will double down.🙄
They'll blame it on the pandemic, it seems to be a good scapegoat for everything that has gone wrong with stupid policy decisions.
No
The progressives will remain, through corruption.
Alameda County currently votes 80 percent blue. There are entire generations of low information citizens that will vote blue no matter who. Even if a seismic change happens now, it will be decades before those voters pass on and a tough-on-crime candidate has a shot.
Airport hotels are crazily profitable. Like, even in recessions, if well managed, airport hotels tend to make a decent profit.
The level of crime required to decide to shutter down the hotel, crazy!!
Defund the police this is what you get
