I've got a couple lava neon tubes by streetglow working I can send you some videos of them on later on

@@RedSkylinex60 the white tube in the video is a Lava Neon tube, if you look at 0:23 you can see the underside of the tube and it says Lava Neon next to the Street Glow logo.

I do have others lurking around the house somewhere that I need to find and make a video on, they are similar to the Lava one. I believe one of the was packed with bead that almost looked like styrofoam, and it had blue arcs that would jump around. Looked a lot like Luming Glass.

I think they might be mislabeled. I think the lava neon is supposed to be like a lava lamp. The one with arcs jumping around is called lightening neon so they might have printed the wrong logo on them.

Hang on to those StreetGlow Neon tubes! I consider those to be collectors items! I have a huge collection of StreetGlow Neon. They’re close to 20yrs old and they still work! Clean up the tubes and end caps with some rubbing alcohol and put them to good use! Love neon! 😄

    Very cool.
You said you have some LED ones as well, would you be able to show them side-by-side? Perhaps also with the room light on to demonstrate how bright they actually are?
I'm trying to decide between neon and LED underglow for my car, but having difficulty finding a good comparison.
I'd love to hear your opinion, sounds like you have some experience with both. ;)

I work at a car audio shop, we've installed a lot of the LED ungerglow kits, but neon we haven't done in a long time (probably 20 years, long before I was working there lol).
The big advantage with LED's I'd say is the ease of installation. Modern LED strips/bars are much easier to mount and work with compared to the old school neon tubes. Brightness wise, I'd say really good LED's that are meant to be used as underglow are about the same, if not brighter than neon. Neon typically has more of a glow effect and washes the whole area with a nice, soft colored light, LED's are more direct and you mostly see the light directly under the strips. Both of them are very hard to see outside say on a very sunny day. A HUGE advantage of neon though, is the color accuracy. LED's will sometimes not display colors like yellow/pink/white correctly, mainly on those mutli-color ones. That's just down to how the LED's work, they're only using red green and blue to produce all the colors of the rainbow. Yellow looks a bit green, pink looks more purple, and white has a very bluish tint to it. Neon uses specific gases and different coatings/filters to produce the color, so this doesn't happen. You only get the color that it's meant to be.
I love neon, but personally I wouldn't put it on a car these days. It's way more expensive and is more prone to breaking. Yeah the glass tube is protected but all it takes is a big enough stone to kick up or you hit a big bump unexpectedly and the tubes could shatter. Then finding an exact color replacement if only 1 or 2 went could be costly and time consuming. LED's don't have any of these problems, even the best LED kits are a fraction of the price of a full StreetGlow Gold series kit. If it's not a daily driver, you have the money to spend and you want some cool points/bragging rights then I think you'd be very happy with neon. If it's more staying to a budget you're worried about and drive the car to work everyday, I'd go LED.

I have one that does move but the little inverter board burned out but I think I’ll take a studio 54 Ford and put it into the street Glo one

Yeah they had a few different styles. I have other ones that move. They're packed with see-through beads (kinda looks like styrofoam) and the effect you get looks like lightning. I have them in blue, green, and orange.

1:58 That is probably a blue/pink Street Glow color change neon. They also made it in green/yellow.
Edit: the one at 2:29 is in fact lava neon, I was wrong. Lightening neon was like lava neon but with the light moving like lightening.
