- It was my first time to visit Southern Leyte and I was completely blown away by how beautiful this region is. My husband's family on the Fernandez side is originally from there, so this trip was extra special for us. I was glad to see for myself the wonderful beaches my husband went to as a child and we were extra happy for Tristan to meet his cousins and relatives and see a different part of the Philippines.
We spent six days exploring Southern Leyte: we flew in via Dumaguete City and took a 3-hour car ride to Maasin, Leyte. From there, it was easy to access the beautiful islets of Cuatro Islas, Limasawa Island and their family farm: Labuon. We ate so well and enjoyed our time with family. Hope you guys like this!

My daughter is 6.5 years old Now but I'm sad as away working. Your video brings happiness. Im American, live in maasin, love the small community as we can relate to each other more. No big malls, hi rise buildings. Just peaceful. Im away working . Again. But the video made me realize there is no place like home. Love my wife and daughter. Great video. Loved it.

I spent 3 weeks in Leyte. Mostly Ormoc. Flew into Tacloban. Spent a little time there too. Next time I think I'll rent a car and go to southern Leyte. I traveled the northern end a lot.

I like your video, but you were on the same boat for las cuatro islas as limasawa island? I find that a bit unlikely seeing as they are so far apart. At 18.38 you say that you're at another island but you're not quite sure what it's called. That's actually Limasawa island as well, dak dak beach resort.
Hi Mart! The trip to Limasawa Island was another day. 😊 The editing made it seem like the same day but if you notice everyone wore different clothes. I should’ve made sure there was a distinction (or added Day 5). The island that I didn’t know the name was Dak Dak Beach Resort, you’re right. Maasin City is the capital of a separate province in Leyte island. Southern Leyte occupies the southernmost part of this island. It used to be a part of Leyte province.. In fact the whole island was just one province.(.But that was a long long time ago) It also used to include the towns of Biliran island in the northern part. Currently there are 3 provinces..(LEYTE, SOUTHERN LEYTE & BILIRAN) These represent the half of Eastern Visayas region.. The other half are the 3 provinces of Samar island.

Please don't show or support the destruction of marine life in future videos. Those urchins are so beautiful in their habitat and to KILL them for such a little bit of fat should be a crime punishable by prison. I know it's your "culture", but that's just an excuse for doing harm without guilt. I love the Phils so much and it is so sad to see the locals further pollute and destroy such a wonderful place :(
It took me awhile to process your comment. You do make a valid point. I mean, if I saw a video of turtles being killed I would get completely upset. I’ll be more aware of this next time.
