Brother, I am a 52yr old hard nosed biker. If your eyes don't get extra moist when watching this video, you aren't human. It truly hits home when you have known people in your life that battle these demons daily. Much Love and Peace!

THANK YOU. Hands down the best reaction to this song seen so far. Too many focus on the video and not the lyrics. Mental illness is serious and if you do not suffer from it them someone you know is likely struggling, & you're right; it's important to let our support and love for them be known.

I’m so grateful that Chris chose this song to actually do a video to. It seems that all of his other “videos“ are him at a venue singing solo, or at a radio station. He wanted to make a statement about mental health issues. Van, as you know in this country mental health issues are a problem. I’m so grateful for your reaction. It was a good video, but very heart wrenching.
According to Chris, this IS the only video he's done like this because of how important and meaningful the message of this song is....Although, he was the bartender 😉 Very good observation LadyGator 🙂

My plea to everyone is pay attention to the people who frustrate you the most in life. The ones who intentionally push you away.... love them. ❤ mental health matters. Give them roses while they are alive.
Thank you. Best reaction to this. I almost didn’t watch, because it breaks my heart. The woman is bipolar. I recognize it too well. My oldest daughter is too. She’s 37 and it’s been a long battle with this illness. She recently moved back home with me. Even when she’s home, and I can watch her, it’s a constant worry. Every time I go to work, I wonder what she’s doing, what she’s thinking. And I pray. Sometimes it’s all you can do. She’s worth every heartache. So sweet, so kind, so very beautiful and so smart. All irrelevant to this reaction. Sorry. Point is your reaction was heartfelt and real and I appreciate it. You just reminded me why I subscribed to your channel. Excellent. Thank you again and many blessings to you and your household sir. Grateful for what you do. Love❤️ and Light🙏 always Van. Sincerely Angela😇

That's probably the most genuine reaction I have seen to date. It's to real being the last person who spoke to my brother making plans for the next day as he wrote his suicide note the getting a call 45 minutes after we hung up. He slipped a belt over his head sat at his kitchen table arms at his side and never had a second thought. Lots of people say how selfish suicide is. I say you didn't know my baby brother sweetest kind hearted amazing kid I've ever known tough as nails. I say how much emotional pain do you have to be in to cinch a belt around your throat at a kitchen table and never lift your arms. When the emotional pain out rides a survival instinct to that degree it's immeasurable. He wasn't selfish he was broken. Suicide is in the rise since lock downs if you know someone suffering with mental illness don't hesitate to show up love them make time you never want to live with what I do in my heart.b
This is by far my favorite Chris Stapleton song. He just puts so much soul into it, I don't know who wouldn't like it if they listen to the words along with Chris's voice.
For more than a year now, I have been teetering on the brink, feeling like I’m just one more bad breeze of wind from ending it all. I want you to know that I admire your courage and the strength that you have shown in the depths of your pain and I am rooting for you.
Best reaction I’ve seen to this song. My husband is a superhero. I battle depression and anxiety and this video does an incredible job of portraying that battle. And it is a hell of a battle. I met my favorite rock star and he struggles with addiction, anxiety and depression. He and I got to have a conversation and he told me, “You know what? Let’s not suffer from anxiety and depression. We can’t let it make us suffer. We battle it. We won’t win every battle with it but we will win the war.” Sometimes the battle is just opening your eyes in the morning because I don’t want to acknowledge another day has dawned and I’m not ready to face it. If anyone reading this is fighting the battle, please know you are NOT alone and don’t let anyone downplay this disease we are fighting. Sometimes just getting out of bed is my biggest accomplishment and that’s ok. We struggle, but we cannot unpack and live in that scary place. We fight, we pray, we will take things one step at a time and one step is progress, don’t let anyone tell you different!
This video helped me to see my mental illness from another point of view. It doesn't just affect ME. And that reminds me to fight hard every day, keep my appointments, take my medicine. It's the one place in my life where being super stubborn is an asset. :)

Chris doesn't do "music videos". There are a lot of them while he is performing on stage, but this is the only production video that there is. Great analogy of this song. Honestly the best reaction I've seen to this song. You be up in your feels and not afraid to show it. That's what a real man be about. Much love brother. You hit the target on your first thoughts of where the song was going. You're an OG when it comes to feelings and life.
This is the best reaction to this that I've seen... I've suffered from Severe Panic Disorder/Agoraphobia for years and it's a serious illness that eventually even ends up causing issues with your physical health due to the things you avoid to try and steer clear of Panic Attacks. It's hard not having people who understand what you go through and just having people look at you strange or treat you like something is wrong with you because if it so you avoid face to face interactions as much as possible. It's great to see someone who's sympathetic to the illnesses caused by Anxiety. Keep these great reactions comin' fam.

I was very moved by your reaction to this song and video. We don't know other people's battles do we? I believe there's not enough focus on mental health in this country and there's definitely a stigma that goes with that. We are slowly getting better but we still have a long way to go.My hat goes off to Chris Stapleton for putting out music with brutally honest subject matter.
While the focus is mental illness, as the mother of an adult son with autism I understand. The tantrums, the outbursts, the physical aggression, I took it all. And while there is a much happier ending for me(at 44 my son is thriving), I can honestly say, to be that rock, to be that one person to say fire away is the greatest gift.
Ironic you picked Chris today! Chris had a concert last night (December 11, 2021) in Nashville. I live in Florida & a bunch of my friends flew up there. Wish I could post a pic of the concert here. Dang, I should have gone!
Suffering with mental illness myself it is one of the things that sucks, that we bring others down with us. So we stay quiet so we aren’t a burden. Great song.
I sent this song to a very special person I was dating. A few weeks later he passed away in a motorcycle accident. We connected because of our passed experiences and having mental health issues that felt as if no one else understood, but we understood each other from the beginning. It’s like we read one another like a book. I think the hardest part was him having horrible anxiety the few days leading up to his accident. This song still makes me break down. I listened to it on repeat after he passed. Along with save me, and I need you by jelly roll. This was a wonderful reaction for this video.
I suffer from depression and this hit me hard. My husband is my rock and I got help. I'm good now, still have moments but this video made me ugly cry. Reach out to your people and make sure they are ok.

This song brings attention not only to mental illness, but also to the people who love the mentally ill, and the ordeal they go thru, dealing with us. I actually work harder to not let my illness take over, because of this song. I want to be well, not only for me, but for my loved ones. I don't want to put anyone thru the pain represented in this video. I am diagnosed with severe depression, anxiety and mild bipolar.
My wife struggles with depression, we've been married 21 years. Some days are harder than others, but she knows I'm her rock. It's real, I use to think it wasn't.
Van, I have bipolar depression and PTSD because of childhood trauma by my grandfather. This video was a perfect display of how some us feel a lot. I have been there a couple of times, but thank God I haven’t felt that since 2008 again. Every now and then, I get really depressed and it’s hard to get through the day. But God always saves me. Van I have been watching you for quite awhile. This video is uncomfortable but so realistic. I watch you almost everyday and thank you for watching this. @@KEVROREACTS 🙋🏼♀️HI Kevro! I'm Jen! Music is my thing and I watch A LOT of reaction channels. Some people read, some people watch Netflix, some are gamers... I listen to music. ❤❤❤ Thank you for commenting. Nice to meet ya!
@@jennhurl Ayeeeeee i feel that.
"Superheroes lose their battles too." I absolutely lost it when you said that
His line, I didn't find her, always hits me the hardest. He found her the other times and this time he didn't get to her in time, in top of that,, being a cop, one part of that job being protect and he was able to. Just so sad
One of the best songs ever.
Great reaction.
This song is so strong. I think we all know someone who is, or has struggled with mental problems. Thank you for your response. Reach out when you can.
Thank you for your reaction video. Mental illness is tough . “ super hero’s lose their battle too” wow! You’re right. I have my struggles but I’m still here 2021.
This song hits close to home😥😥😥depression is real and you don’t know how real it is until you have people in your life that’s going through it.😥😥😥 so to everyone please pay attention to your kids and live ones please😥😥😥😥
This was and, is so sad! Unfortunately it hits home to all of us some time or, another. Sometimes we're strong enough to fight the battles, sometimes not, Great vid. Thanks for your kind words!
No matter how hard that was to listen to, it's so much harder to live it. I'm grateful for the man that lets me fire away when I'm too overwhelmed
Love chris stapleton
They serve an protect, But who can protect them from this 🦅🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸
This song gets to me since my brother took his life when I was 16
I'm so very sorry. Bless you 🙏🏻
@@jennhurl Ty bout 15yrs now I'm still fighting with it
@@hondaatcfreak420 Time doesn't heal, at least not for me with certain traumas. Things get better, but not healed. I pray some of that weight is released off your heart soon. Hugs❤
@@jennhurl right this time of year is a bitch Christmas hits the Jan 17 my bros birth date then Feb 7th hits the day he left the world he was only few weeks in to being 21
I was definitely shook after watching this and I was in tears. You had it to the T from the beginning.
😔🕯…for my beloved, and many others.
I’m still here, and that in itself, is a minor miracle. 💗✌🏼
You were spot on. Bipolar Depression is the worst.
Did you notice who the bartender was !?! 😉
I cry every single time I hear it. She made her problems bigger than God. 🥺
Thank you for really getting it.Love Chris S.

I can't watch it without crying
While the focus is mental illness, as the mother of an adult son with autism I understand. The tantrums, the outbursts, the physical aggression, I took it all. And while there is a much happier ending for me(at 44 my son is thriving), I can honestly say, to be that rock, to be that one person to say fire away is the greatest gift.
This one hit me damn hard... too. Battles be everyday for some folks.
Priceless reaction.....respect Brother ...God bless
Ironic you picked Chris today! Chris had a concert last night (December 11, 2021) in Nashville. I live in Florida & a bunch of my friends flew up there. Wish I could post a pic of the concert here. Dang, I should have gone!
Suffering with mental illness myself it is one of the things that sucks, that we bring others down with us. So we stay quiet so we aren’t a burden. Great song.
Tears
I sent this song to a very special person I was dating. A few weeks later he passed away in a motorcycle accident. We connected because of our passed experiences and having mental health issues that felt as if no one else understood, but we understood each other from the beginning. It’s like we read one another like a book. I think the hardest part was him having horrible anxiety the few days leading up to his accident. This song still makes me break down. I listened to it on repeat after he passed. Along with save me, and I need you by jelly roll. This was a wonderful reaction for this video.
Oh I feel your heart
OMG Van. You. YOU are a protector. Your person. Yes, my person. My person just couldn’t make it in this life.
Van, you are one of the good ones, and thanks.
Not taking anything away from the song, but Chris was the bartender in the video. This song brings tears to my eyes every time I hear it.
Omg...this song!!!!
I suffer from depression and this hit me hard. My husband is my rock and I got help. I'm good now, still have moments but this video made me ugly cry. Reach out to your people and make sure they are ok.
Fun Fact: Chris has co-written 6 number-one country songs for other people.
True! One of which was with Darius Rucker who is from my hometown of Charleston, SC!!!
@@LadyGator1983 Charleston in the house! We've spoken briefly once, I believe because of your name. I've lived in Gainesville for the past 40 years & I'm a Gator as well. Cool name! Stand up Gator Nation! 🧡🐊💙
@@jennhurl I’m a Goose Creek High School Gator. I was born and raised there and graduated from there as well. Cool! I have MS so forgive me if I don’t remember haven’t talk to you in the past. But it’s nice to know!
Yep and some put you in jail and f your life, and the courts believe the women... It's not always the case. So I remain without love because of back stabbing cray cray. To whom I did everything I could. Yep got the wrong side of the stick but these people need help !! unfortunately I can't ever lend a hand 😭 trying to help puts you in prison. And then you live there the rest of your life. It's very sad. For both sides.🙏🇺🇸💯
@@davidpeterson144 I’m so sorry you’ve experienced the worst of “some” women. I was married to two abusive SOBs. I’ve experienced the worst in some men. I do my best not to treat someone that I’m dating as if they were my ex-husband. Not all men are bad. I’m to blame for thinking that I didn’t deserve anything better. It was me who chose the men. I wish you all the best sweetie!
Mental illness is no joke!
Your reaction shows us all what a caring person you are!
Thank you
I appreciate you, Van. Very much...
The song broke my heart man in this touch me to the Core
My wife struggles with depression, we've been married 21 years. Some days are harder than others, but she knows I'm her rock. It's real, I use to think it wasn't.
Mental health is so important
Probably the most honest reaction I have seen to this song... It should leave you speechless. Love the channel. Cheers!
I know don’t understand but it was comforting. Today is Mother’s Day and it has been a shitty day! I can’t have kids because I was raped at 3 by a 15 year old. My mom has passed and I miss her sooo much!! I love your humor! I mean this video is serious but normally you are. I have cried most of the day and I pick a sad one oh well thank you!!
This is the only song that Chris Stapleton has made a video for but when he wrote the song and recorded it he felt that this song needed one and he picked the director and the stars because he had a specific idea about what he wanted for the video
This dude is a good actor he played in some movies look him up I think he didn't get to many credits this song blows u away
love you man. thanks for caring and sharing
You are amazing and I love your reaction to this song! I cry every time I watch this video it's gut wrenching! Thank you again ❤❤❤
Thank you so much, Carly!!
I really like the way you explained this song! I have depression and anxiety and on medication. But never tryed to kill myself. A lot of ppl do commite suicide and that’s such a terrible thing! I’ve subscribed to your videos. Thank you so much!💖
I don't have anxiety but like you I fight depression every day and am also on medication. There's no way for people to really understand it unless they have also traveled down that road. I've never tried to kill myself but I would be lying if I said it had never crossed my mind. Take care my friend, it's a struggle.
I missed.... Woke up at the bottom of a staircase with a belt around my throat.... Gave me hope.... And please everyone have hope.... Nice reaction van....
this one gets me every time ...great reaction as always ty Van
Chris plays the bartender in this video….great, sad song. 😢❤️
You are the smartest person doing these reactions and I appreciate you for it .
I'm loving your interpretation of this!!!!!
I love your videos but just bawled the whole time. I lost my first husband in a way like this and then my fiancé (a few years ago) took his life. My children suffered- their children. This song shoots an arrow right into my soul, but I love this song. Makes me feel understood/ not alone in this thing we call life. 💚
If you notice this is the only music video from any of his songs he has ever made, so far. He did it to bring awareness to Mental Health.
#lfrfamily your reaction told the story of my thoughts and life. Thank you brother.
Sometimes you don’t even know. It goes both ways
Bro you read it right away.. This is a beautiful song it home for me.. Glad to see some one else get out of it what I did. Great video.
Man I appreciate how you put your family first before anything else that means a lot to me because that’s exactly how I am and I would give my life if there life was in danger You I don’t have any kids of my own at least not alive anyway My high school sweat heart did not love me as much as I thought she did Because she had three abortions and it kills me every time I think about my kids I have never seen That is why we went our separate ways But it still don’t ease the pain in my heart But I have a nephew by my sister that feels like he is my kid because his father was not in his life very much at all So I kinda took the job But I have never tried to act like I was his father I always told him he was more like a little brother to me and I have always been straight up with him about everything and tell him how the world really is and not sugarcoat anything Because when I was coming up My father always told me that YOU AIN’T GONNA DO THIS AND YOU AINT GONNA DO THIS AND IT MADE ME REBELL AGAINST MY PARENTS AND I HAVE SOME VERY GOOD PARENTS I JUST DID NOT UNDERSTAND WHAT THE REAL WORLD WAS LIKE BUT I LOVE YOUR REACTIONS AND YOU HAVE BEEN MARRIED FOR A LONG TIME
I APPRECIATE THAT TO BECAUSE THAT IS SOMETHING YOU DONT SEE ANYMORE I DON’T KNOW WHY PEOPLE EVEN GO THROUGH MARRIAGE VOWS ANYMORE BECAUSE THEY DON’T MEAN ANYTHING ANYMORE “to have and to hold til death do us part” and through good and bad times for better or worse None of this seems to mean anything anymore But I like your channel and appreciate you being real and honest about everything You are a real man I am 52 years old and I don’t have a prejudice bone in my body As long as people give me respect I give it in return I don’t care what color you are that don’t mean nothing to me I judge a man on how he takes care of his family and makes an honest living and raise his kids right To me that’s what it’s all about is taking care of family and how you treat other people We need to take color out of how people look at each other and judge them by there character Like I said I am 52 and see black guys I went to school with and we are just as good of friends as we were in school I think the politicians and news media try to keep the black and white community at each other‘s throats so they can get a vote and that is wrong Because I know that there are some racist people out here
But I am not one of them When I was little and parents were working I had a black lady that took care of me and if I did something wrong she had full permission from my parents to tear me up and she did a few times and I have the upmost respect for her because she was a very good person and I don’t know to many people that are racial and I live about 50 miles below Atlanta Ga and for the most part everyone gets along pretty good And I am country as they come I was raised in a Methodist church and was thought to respect other people no matter what color they are I have rebel flags in my yard but it don’t have anything to do with racism or having anything to do with the Civil war it’s just a southern thing Mainly I just like the way it looks But I know that the black community has different feelings about it and I respect that But I don’t try to hide it because that just makes you look like you do have something against black people I have quite a few black friends I went to school with and they don’t say or act any different to me than they always have They are always welcome in my home just like my white friends To me if you are my friend color is something I don’t even think about
He tried so hard to keep her safe.
she is not dead, she is IN THE HOSPITAL!
Been searching for 43 years for someone that could be this for me. Really ready to give up n be done.
Shits heavy!!! Great reaction
She was Bipolar. Only Chris would write a song like this. Thank's Chris.
Video a must
Great reaction Van- gets rough for so many- as I’m sure you know - ❤️🙏🏼to all of us that struggle-💙✌️
Sad song, but great reaction to the message. Breaks my heart that real people struggle like this. I’ve had my issues, so has my wife, we all do. Gotta check in on the ones you love… sometimes you have to carry the load, if you care, you just do it.
❤hugs for both sides.
I do suicide prevention and its hard! You cant save someone that lives to die. You can stop it until they attempt it again. Its humbling because sometimes your best isn't enough. Ive learned that I can't see it as a temporary victory or else I won't be able to keep doing it.
You got the message earlier than most.
Ain’t that the truth!!! I got it immediately and I watch so many reactors that never get the message, even at the end.
You are the first reactor I subscribed to ( before I knew what it was) and you are by far my favorite ❤❤❤❤❤
