  • The third edition of ABU and Radio Romania’s international forum „Media & Culture Days” took place in Bucharest, on 16-17 November.
Media experts discussed about challenges, opportunities and about the role in producing and promoting culture and heritage in all its forms.
Also, we had the opportunity to know some of the problems that media is facing during the war and how broadcasters succeded to organize themselves in order to be a reliable source of information.
„This is very important for us to understand that our editorial standards are very high. Public media in Ukraine was always a reliable source of information, and we receive a very strong feedback form people that are live in occupied territories, after February 2022 (…) The most important changes that we made are dealing with security issues. Now we are having bomb shelters which unfortunately are used during the air attacks from the Russian side. Now we are having radio and TV studios in the bomb shelters underground and our presenters need to go downstairs, underground to provide a reliable broadcast just to help our audience to stay informed”, said Irina Kornienko, Director Channel of Suspilne, UA:PBC
We asked our guest if they consider to use AI in their programs, in the future, to create content in order to rebuilt the heritage and cultural sits that were destroyed during the war.
„I think that AI is a very interesting topic, everybody is crazy about AI, even ordinary people that are not working on media and maybe you need to think about two ways of understanding AI. One of these two ways is of course thinking about AI as a possibility to facilitate something, like make the creation of the text easier. But, on the other hand, AI can represent some danger, especially when we are thinking about the spread of disinformation”, completed Mrs. Irina Kornienko, Director Channel of Suspilne, UA:PBC
In the end, Mrs. Irina Kornienko, Director Channel of Suspilne, UA:PBC, told us her impressions about the conference and about the Radio Romania 95 year anniversary.
„I think that it is very important to live in a big radio family, and in a big family of different radio having a long and sustainable history. I know that in Romania Radio as a media is very important”.
This year’s conference took place in the frame of „Radio Romania '95” anniversary and was supported by BRD, Smith & Smith Transfer de bani and „Carol I’st Central University Library”.
