My BMW E34 530i Touring is back, and it's better than ever. Upon purchasing the car last year one of the main things I wanted to take care of was the paintwork. It wasn't absolutely horrible and in need of a major restoration, but there were plenty of issues that I feel created an incomplete look. Mismatched panels, minor rust, door dings, and some sun damage. Full body work and a fresh paint job in the OEM HellRot colour was the goal, and thats what finally happened in this video. My friend Akul from Autocare Collision took on the project and he absolutely killed it. I couldn't be happier with the way the car looks. There will be plenty more videos on the car as I reassemble it. Everything is in the works, so it's coming soon. Much love.

Watching this in 4K really shows up how many imperfections there are, I know it’s inevitable to have something but there are many! And I’m only looking at on my tv, I bet it’s even worse in the flesh. The corner of the roof above the drivers head area looks particularly bad

Wow, the body shop had a Mk1 Honda Civic, my first car no less. And now I currently own a Hellrot E34! Can't wait to see it all back together. P.s. the body guy should really wear a mask when sanding bondo/filler all he'll end up with emphysema or some other lung condition.

Good god man 🤌🏼 perfection. Going to look even more perfect with that rare af zender kit and Futuras. Honestly can’t think of a more perfect wheel for the build. Being in paint&body for a few years before I started my detail business, I loved getting those 80s/90s classics as close to perfect as possible, and these days getting to watch the work through time lapse, and not have to put in the dirty work is so nice 😂 man if I myself can’t wait to see the whole fleet posted up after getting them where you want, I can only imagine how you feel.

Huge plus one for the Noco boosters. Worth every penny. Most of the techs in my shop use them too and I’ve been using them for years as well. Great video btw like usual brother

Well put together video. My 94 touring has so many digs and dents but the interior is tits and drivetrain is flawless. Can't wait to paint it. This vid got me pumped.
That red is beatuiful, but the imperfections even after the repaint are pretty noticeable what a bummer.

Hey man , do you know how much paint is needed to paint the car ? I can’t figure out how much i need for my e34..
Looks great but once that paint off gases completely I’m sure you’ll be going in with a fine tooth comb to get that clear… we’ll even clearer lol
The paint has been on the body for nearly a month now! Will obviously sand and polish it prior to reassembly
Looks great to see some fresh paint on there. But what I‘ve seen so far is that the bodyshop left a few spots of dirt and etc in the paint. Will you remove them in some point in the future or is that something you didn’t even notice? No criticism just wondering.
It’s complete paint job, you’re going around the vehicle 9+ times. Haven’t seen a perfect paint job straight out the booth in my entire life.
@@ChromaticGarage I know that but did the Paintshop remove those Imperfections before handing out the Keys again or are you gonna do a Video about removing them yourself? That’s what I was wondering.

People are being unreasonable. This is what the vast majority of factory paint jobs look like. Those mile deep glass finishes are only possible with cut and buff/wet sanding. And with a bright color like this may not even be possible. I think it's great. May I ask how much it cost?
Haha David I completely agree. I had dry wiped dust off the car 5 times before I filmed the after shots. The car will look flawless after I work on it and assemble it. Non metallic reds will definitely not look as deep as darker colours, but it will look insane. I assure everyone. And if they don't agree I will require a photo of their paint haha
Are you going to change wheels on it in the future? My opinion in that choice would be a couple of 3 piece silver/goldhub bbs in about same size.

Don't like body filler because i saw guys that do minimal body filler on destroyed cars because they use tools to straight the car and fix dents and stuff with welding but still satisfied so much with content and yeah u can't go without body filler no one can do job with zero filler
I think you just said you don’t like body filler and continued to say you can’t do a job without body filler. The car needed very minimal body work to make it straight as an arrow

What was the additional front bumper “lip” that the car used to have on it? Was that an aftermarket piece?
It was an OEM Mtech lip.
@@ChromaticGarage Ok cool! Didn’t know they fit onto standard bumpers. So is the mtech bumper the same as the standard one, but with the lip added on?
Why is the car freshlly painted and it already has some swirls ?
That may have happened when they put that plastic over the front end.
Haha what! They’ll be sanding marks, swirls from wiping dust. Body shops aren’t responsible for a flawless finish, they’re responsible for body work and paint work. The rest is just detailing

I didn’t pay for that, I didn’t feel it was necessary due to the condition of the paint in those areas
