I think that you are currently the best narrow boat bloggers out there! We all need a dose of “Crobot” when we are at risk of taking ourselves too seriously. You have extraordinary editing skills. Such “chaos “ isn’t easy to create and your sense of teamwork and “ we are in this together “ is an inspiration. Moored up or cruising there’s always room for more Crobot in our lives x
Agree Lynne, I’d love to be able to edit like Chris does, I’ve thought of doing a vlog but I don’t have those amazing skills. I brought all the stuff thinking “easy”, no it’s not. You do a brilliant job Chris and, you produce far more than most bloggers do.
Oh wow what an amazing comment thank you so so much for that. It's made our day 🥰 We just try and show the truth of our boat life with no bells and whistles really. We know we will get there in the end so there's no point getting too down with it. Just enjoy the ride kind of thing. Thank you so much. Chris does a great job editing, it allows his creative side to come out. Thanks so much for sharing in our journey with us Lynne. See you next time ❤️
Thanks so much Pauline ☺️
You two are such naturals at this. Funny, clever and interesting. Your editing is brilliant. And….you are actually accomplishing getting work on the boat done! Love your videos, they definitely make me smile. Great work Becca and Chris. PS I see Becca has actually developed a bond with the Titan 😂🤣
Thanks for doing these. 🙏😊🤗 Kathy
Aww thanks Kathy, such a lovely comment 🥰 We are happy to hear we bring a smile. Haha!! I accidentally called him Henry the other day and the scowl I got from Chris could have turned me to stone!!! Thanks so much for watching and supporting our journey x
My favourite narrow boat MAD couple. Love you guys. Always lift my spirits regards Jim
Aww thanks Jim! So glad to hear we do. Thanks for watching 🥰
You are doing so well, guys! It’s really starting to take shape and look like a home. Love your films as they are always full of positivity and humour and they are so well edited. I’m afraid my narrow boat dream has just sunk - I can’t stand spiders so it would be a nightmare for me! I’ll keep watching and have an adventure vicariously through you two instead!
Thanks so much Margaret. It's a great feeling seeing the rooms starting to come back to life. Aww thank you so much. That's such a lovely compliment. Oh no! Don't let us put you off. They really aren't that bad! 😂☺️
You haven’t seen a spider yet Chris here in Australia we get SPIDERS SO BIG nearly 3” diameter from the tip of their legs to the tip opposite In fact you can hear them running towards you. They have a big juicy body and if you corner them they jump out onto you. That’s a spider. Then they get into your car and then drop onto you when you’re driving but they won’t kill you the trick is to catch them before they catch you. I’ll send a few over to you if you like. Keep up all the DIY on your boat it makes my day great stuff. Doug.
I think it's safe to say Chris will probably never want to visit Australia now!!! Haha! Wow! Now they sound like spiders! Amazing!! And cunning things too! Thanks so much Doug 😊
Awww I really don’t like spiders so I no how you feel 😮 nice you both tidied your sleeping space and got better alarms to keep you both safe what would we do without you lol tc now the oldies 👋🤗👍👋🤗👍
They don't seem to be too popular! Thank you, it's moving ahead slowly. Thanks for watching. Hope you are both well 😊
Hi Clever Becca (nice jacket too) and Chris, another great Vlog thank you. Loving how your boat is now becoming more homely. It's always nice to have a move around. Hope your fire works OK now. Nice touch installing 2 new meters. Great editing (video and audio). Hope the Spiders stay away. Very enjoyable Vlog. Take care.
Aww thanks! Happy to hear from a fellow jacket admirer!!! Chris has been rinsing me for it all week!!! It really does help with how the boat feels actually. We can start to see rooms re forming which is a nice feeling. Thanks hopefully they will keep us nice and safe. Thanks so much! If Chris has anything to do with it he will be on Spider patrol! Same to you too. See you next time 😊
Love your videos, can't wait to see the finished boat
Thanks so much
Good news about the CO detector - mine went ballistic on Saturday following a post-wintery cruise - finally traced it to a exhaust gasket that was blowing fumes back into the cabin (and me) reached 288ppm at one point. Got two on board which is really useful. Sooo new gaskets ordered... happy to still be alive! :-)
Oh wow! So glad yours was working correctly. It just goes to show how important they are. We are really happy to hear you're still alive too! Hope it's not bee too tricky to sort 😊
@@TheNomadicCrobot Just awaiting new gaskets from Sheridens (Freeman specialist) and then it's time to take the skin off my knuckles!
Well g'luck with it 😊
@@TheNomadicCrobot To make life more fun, nuts on the manifold are Whitworth. Off to the shop now to stock up on plasters.... (and beer)
A tip from us, only discovered after 3 years of boating. For your lovely bed, get a king size duvet and duvet cover, and double size fitted sheets. We got our duvet from Tesco's a few weeks ago. We always had a double size duvet before and fought for it every night. The king feels so much more luxurious, duvet to spare, no fighting, and day time, just fold it over. It's yummy.
Ahh that's a great idea! Thanks Steve. Who doesn't love being shrouded in a big cosy duvet 🥰
35 second sequence just to get the hoover out hahahahahahaha🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
The Titan needs him limelight!!! 😂
The galley looks fantastic
Thanks so much Shane 😊
glad you have brought up this very dangerous carbon monoxide gas and you have inspired me to test and maybe renew mine in my campervan tank you both for your highlighted safety many thanks to you both
Ahh no probs at all Phil. It is something that can be so easily overlooked but it's so important to check them over and renew the alarms if you're unsure 😊
Congratulations Chris your first video where you didn't make any cockups or ruin anything your finally becoming a diy boater.Bit of advice you said next was the shower room the one thing you must get right is the shower waste pump under no circumstances fit a waste pump that has a impeller as these are more pain then all the other problems on a boat put together you must fit a diaphragm pump these never play up Whale Gulper is the go to pump but other makes are available (the main problem with impeller pumps long hair clogs them you can not allow them to run dry or you melt the rubber impeller)
Haha!! Aww bless him!! Thanks so much for your advise. We were planning to reinstall the shower pump we had but il definitely check it's a diaphragm one and not an impeller one as we don't need any more problems!!! 😂😂 Thanks again for your helpful advise 😊
I really look forward to your vlogs and get very excited when the new notification pops up. You guys crack me up. Followed you since day 1 so you are like friends we've never met, and Titan and Maverick. The editing is off the scale, such a lot of thought and effort goes into each episode. I do hope your 8 legged friends have moved onto the wide beam for extra leg room lol. Keep up the good work and I hope you get to cruise more this Spring. Cheers!
Aww thanks John, what a lovely comment 🥰 Thanks for following and sharing in our journey. Yeah he does a great job with the editing. Haha!! I'm sure if Chris has anything to do with it he will have evicted most of our legged friends to our neighbours!!! Thank you ☺️
good idea, better use of space for now.
It's so much better! Thanks Sharon 😊
Ah ha,ha you guys are great. Comedy act 👌 🤣 just started following
Thank you! Glad to hear others enjoy our daft humour! 😂 Welcome to the channel! 😂
You should clean off the floor with efferdent tooth decay lozenges before you seal the system after sanding with the recommended floor sealer.
Oh wow, I can't say I've ever heard of this before! Thanks!
Prolly the only narrow boat channel I watch drunk....
But good stuff.
Haha! Whatever works!!! 😂
Yaaay! Loving the progress! 🎉 it’s looking great guys
Aww thanks so much 🥰 Have a lovely week guys ☺️
Finally the Titan in action again. Boat is coming together. Thinking you'll sleep much better now. Thanks for sharing. D
Sleeping as been amazing in the new layout, so cozy, and only an arms reach from the Titan thank you 😊
I worry about the gas escaping from the gas heater here, yeah we have a detector too but is it working??? Oh well that’s not a problem at the moment, not with this heat, everyone’s telling us February is the worst month in Queensland, oh god and it’s only the 14th. OMG. You guys are so close to finish now I thought I could smell the finish but Chris tells us it was the rubbish near his head while sleeping, but seriously, you’re getting so close to finished, you must be getting excited as I am. Hell Beccs you’re not just a pretty face you’re smart too, what is your degree? OK lovely people glad you finally have your bed, sleep well and I’ll see you soon, looking forward to it. 💕
Hopefully this vlog has reminded you to check Pauline. It's so important and even though you're baking in the heat now, maybe it's a sign to check it whilst it's in your memory. Il be worrying about you!!! Hahaha!!!!! Chris and his smells!!!! 😂 Yeah it's really nice to really see the rooms coming back to life again. It has such an effect psychologically too for days when we aren't feeling so optimistic! Oww thanks Pauline 🥰 It was a combined degree in Animal behaviour and marine biology. My background being in marine conservation. Thanks so much again for your lovely comments ❤️ See you next time x
@@TheNomadicCrobot. Oh Beccs we’ve spoken about it a number of times, they’re going to be replaced as they were here when we brought the house. Agree mate the Psychological side can be much, much worse than the physical side, I was thinking that when Chris was down last year, I so understood how he felt as Henri (my husband) suffers from PTSD and chronic depression and it can be hard to get him back it I allow it to go to far. Please, please look after yourselves, you REALLY are close to finish, it’s so relaxing on the canals, how I so loved it. Can you use any of your degree on the canals? The animal side probably, that’s very interesting. Take care and talk soon. XX
Oh that's good Pauline, I'm glad to hear you are planning to replace them! It really can. For the most part its ok but there are times when it's hard to see the woods for the trees so to speak. This is where a little change up can really remind you of what you're working towards. I'm so sorry to hear about your Henri but I know he must be so well looked after and supported by lovely you. Thank you, we will keep persevering and be there before we know it. Yes I'm sure I will be in my element and am looking forward to getting back to nature again as I have had lots of health problems myself so think it may help. I have been doing various courses so here's hoping I will be able to utilise them in the future. Thanks Pauline, you too ❤️
Phew ! I amost thought you werent going to mention hatches today. 😀
I needn't have worried, although it was a bit of a wait for over 12 minutes... 🙄
Haha...well iv got some great news...we've just started work on a brand new hatch...watch this space
@@TheNomadicCrobot Oh goody. Maybe a spin off channel ? Hatches from Hell ? 😆
Now that's an idea.... 🤔
We love the Titan!
All hail thr mighty Titan 🙌
Nice one that’s it new name for the crobott DONE-ISH ye it taking shape now Chris spiders will start back up in April all them sacks of spiderlins coming to get you Chris lol🤣🤣Have a top week 🙂🔧🎸✌️
Haha! Like it! Oh god don't say that, he will start up his spider nest excavation frenzy again!! I bought him a spider sucker mini vacuum once and he patrols the boat with it routinely!!! 😂😂😂 Thanks Lee, you too 😊
Bedroom looks cosy !!! Slowly but surely you’ll get your boaty home sorted ! See you two mad bots In the next one xxx
It's lovely when a room comes together, next stop the bathroom, thanks Mandy for sticking with our adventure

Maybe Webs R us, would be a good name for a narrowboat🤣
Good you are having a little shuffle around to give yourself a living space and workspace. Soon you both will be doing the Countdown to cruising the cut.
You both are so entertaining but real. ❤
Haha!! That's a brilliant name 😂 Yeah it help psychologically I think to see rooms a bit more complete. Hopefully it won't be too long now! 🤞☺️ Aww thank you 🥰
I was smiling all the way thru this‼️😁👏🏼♥️
Aww thanks Sunny ☺️
On to that wide beam, more leg room 😂
would love a widebeam :)
Hi Becks & Chris, great video's every time, you are both really funny and down to earth, see you were mentioning our friends the spiders lol in your last video, thought you may like this info, if you buy some peppermint spay / oil Lavender spray / oil or Eucalyptus they don't like that, we spray it all around our windows on our boat, or places like the gunnels as you mentioned anyway keep up with the great video's best wishes Peter & Karen..xx
Thanks so much Peter and Karen and for the great tips too ❤️
Another interesting video. Thanks for posting.
Thanks for watching! 😊
Hi another funny video, never know if Chris is really that scared of spiders really:)).
Just a warning carbon monoxide alarms should be at least 150mm from the ceiling as normally shown in the instructions due to a air circulation near the ceiling. So always best to have at least 2 one near where you sleep and the other near the source.
All the best 👍
This is really interesting thanks for mentioning. My friend who is Hetas trained was worried when he saw where our old one was positioned and explained it all to me. I think I must have taken his explanation a bit too literally and it should be a little lower and not right on the ceiling!!!! Thanks again for mentioning ☺️
👍👍
🕷🕸🕷🕸🕷🕸🕷🕸🕷🕸🕷🕸 here's a few creepy crawlies for ya...no screaming 😱
Haha!! Too late 🤪
goo d see the boat get done keep up the good vids thanks lee
Thanks Lee
Hiya....just binged all your vids in a week or so ,I don't know how you've coped !... where have you been washing for 18 months? 👃
Oh wow thank you!!!! We manage to get by with the showers at the marina we are at ☺️ Not as nice as having your own though. Luckily we have just got water in our kitchen again so we can at least wash our hands which is bliss!!
I’d heard on a boat that it’s supposed to be low because carbon dioxide is heavier than air.
This was always the belief but I was told by my friend who is Hetas certified and had just come back from doing a course on the dangers of carbon monoxide. He was worried when he saw the position of our old alarm and so explained it all to me. So carbon monoxide is lighter than air but as it is released by the fire it comes out at the low level of the fire before flowing upwards to sit at the highest point until more and more is produced and it creeps downwards until eventually filling the room. Hope that makes sense!
Brilliant, I don’t like spiders so narrow boating is not for me 😂😅😂
😂😂😀 perhaps not! No it's not all that bad really. Chris is just a drama queen!!! 😂
@@TheNomadicCrobot I’d be exactly the same I have the house sprayed every year to keep them out 😂
😂😂😂 That's fair enough!
Chris Spider Crobot so misunderstood :)
Haha! 😂😂😂
2 "ish's" make a whole, so thats progress ;)
Exactly! This is the kind of positive thinking we like!
You do realise that the False Widow spider has traveled to the U.K. on the bottom of HGVs, so as they pass over bridges with canals underneath, the spider likes to drop off onto boats below so they can travel further…………
Narrow boats are an easy target as the canal is narrow when passing under the road at slow speed………🕷🕷🕷🕷
Oh god I can't show him this as he will never step on the boat again 😂😂😂
Funniest vlog yet,
Thank you 😂
Hi Bex Chris ,well if you got rid of a lot of the junk onboard you would have more room to move about I don’t think I have ever seen such a shambles like you have let this home of yours get into lol will you ever get this done well you got a bedroom now I guess that’s something, you have a nice boat there treat it like one it’s your home after all said and done ,,come on Chris Bex show us what you can do lol 😆🇬🇧😆🌹🫢👀🥵🥱🤭🤪🤤😩🤫🙂🫤😛😒😕🙄🙁😙🤪
Haha!!! You're not wrong John!! Most of what appears to be junk though is the skeletons of most of the rooms i.e. walls that had to be taken down in order to lift the floor to treat the bilges!! So we are slowly working through reinstalling it all a little bit at a time!! Have faith John!!! We will do it!!!!! You'll just have to keep watching in the meantime 🤪😂☺️😉
Its a well known fact that narrowboaters swallow several spiders a night while they are sleeping……🕷️🕷️🕷️🕸️
Noooo...that's a terrible fact....I'm going to be sleeping with a mask on from now
@@TheNomadicCrobot And when you wake up with a sore throat it’s usually a spider spinning a web around your tonsils 😇
Good god!
Don't buy a sofa until the jobs have been completed 🙂
That's what I keep saying to Chris, it's more practical to wait 👍
So you've got cavity Web insulation 🤣🤣
Hahah! That's it!!! Maybe we should patent the idea and open a spider factory! 😂
Psst, Carbon Monoxide is only marginally lighter than air and not really enough to warrant putting the detector at ceiling height. Now awaiting the barrage of "you're completely wrong" comments 😁
Haha!! I was going off of the advise of my friend who is Hetas qualified and at the time of seeing our old alarm had literally just come back from doing a course all about it!!! I do think I took his advise slightly too seriously though, I think as someone else mentioned it should be about 150mm from the ceiling. Thanks for sharing though Gary. It's all really useful 😊
I have to disagree with you about the false widow spider. My wife got bitten by one a few years ago and it was a right mess and took 9 months to heal, leaving a bad scar on her ankle. Beware of them!
Hi Craig, actually someone else commented something similar and I apologised saying that I got my info from listening to an animal biologist so thought it to be a credible source! I imagine that there will always be a proportion of people who will suffer much more adverse reactions than the overall average so we will make sure to be on the look out! Thanks for sharing 🙂 I hope your wife's ankle is much better now 🙂
Think the word you were looking for is Grotto, Not gremlin room. 😚
Hahaha!!!!! Indeedy!
Nothing against spiders, but if it were me I'd fumigate the boat once a year. I'd just have to. Comes from living in the land of snakes and spiders, the Ozark National Forest.
Oh wow! What an amazing place to live 😍 Don't give Chris ideas!!! I just keep telling him, if he's lucky one day one will bite him and he will turn into Spiderman!!! 😂
@@TheNomadicCrobot Probably need to mess about with spiders at the nuclear plant. ;)

#3 Why didn't you mount the CO-detector on the ceiling?
#1 Bec, is Chris secretly employed at MI6? All this spyder talk? He seeing a spyder in every corner?

Oh wow so not too far then. Il have a word with Chris and see what he says. Thank you for such a lovely offer 😊
False widow. Harmless! Not true. I spent 8 days in hospital and two operations on my hand because of one of those little Fokkers. About a month later my mates mate in the Isle of Wight died due to a false widow bite. Schools on the south coast have been shut because of infestations of them. The warmer winters are to blame on their spread.
Oh wow I do apologise. I had seen this being spoken about from an animal biologist so thought it to be a good source of information. I guess with everything there is always going to be a proportion of people who will have more adverse reactions than the overall average. I hope your hand is alright now and so sorry to hear about your friends mate. Thanks for sharing 🙂
@@TheNomadicCrobot no worries but these little turds are really underestimated.
