@@LincolnintheAdirondacks yeah man, its only about 3 hours from where i live so i will most likely be there several times throughout the season. Lets link up and grab a drink.
Been there last week from March 8th till 11th and loved it. One of my favorite mountains in the northeast. I wish this mountain was closer to where I live. Keep up the good work and stay safe :) 👍🎿
I'm looking to make a trip to Whiteface next year but I've read hear and there about the ice....were the conditions you encountered typical? That chatter is scaring me away some. Cheers!
I ski at Whiteface nearly every day in the winter. It's no icier than anywhere else in the east in my experience. Most days are good and every now and then you get a rough one.
I heard the exact same thing which kept me from making the trip. Is there a particular month that's the best time to come up to avoid excessive ice or is it a toss up?
its a toss up anywhere in the East. I think your best bet is tracking storm and temperature cycles. If you watch the temps, you can get an idea of the melt/freeze cycle and get a good idea of where youre going is going to be icy. For example, if the mountain is facing east and they haven't gotten snow in a while, you can count on it being icy. The sun beams it all morning and by early afternoon it ices up dramatically as the sun moves behind the mountain. I would find a resort with multi-directional ways to go down that way you can start your day on the east side and move your way to the west side as afternoon sets in. @@randyreilly2031

Coming at the right time. We've got a nice storm moving through the region tonight
if you can talk while going down the hill, you are going really slow.
Normally I go slower in these videos so I can talk.
