Bee Gees - Night Fever Drum Cover

- Exactly 40 years ago today (3/18/78), this song topped the US Billboard hot 100 charts and would stay there for the next 2 months (8 consecutive weeks in total at #1). So to commemorate that, here is my drum cover of the Bee Gees' Night Fever.
I have always dug this song, even when I first heard it way back when. Now this may seem like an easy song especially with its four-on-the-floor stomp, but to me it was deceptively tricky! The drummer, Dennis Byron, was playing so behind the beat, that for me, it was hard to manage. And with me having issues with my timing (mainly playing ahead of the beat and a tendency to rush at times. Maybe that's why I'm a huge Rush fan, haha!) and groove too, well this was a challenge! But a fun one nonetheless. I think I did ok, haha!

Hi Jorge, I love this track. When I was young ... I thought disco sucked, but when you realize that real musicians made this music not machines. Now I hear the creative arrangements and how the simple, but solid drum parts made these tracks work. Nice playing!

April 1978. I was 13 years, sitting in the cinema (i think the movie had an age limit of 16) watching Saturday Night Fever and hearring this song for the first time. Never heard such kind of singing before. Thanks for bringing back those memories, Jorge. You cover is an excellent work, man. Tight and tasteful drumming. Thumbs up!

Haha, you know I have no poroblem with disco! Didn't have nay qualms with it back then and still don't today. There were some fantastic songs and musicians back then that made these tunes. Chic for one was bad ass! Haha! Appreciate is much for your support!

Well played sir Bee Gee's are alone with Nile Rodgers the Kings of Diso. Saw the recently on utube at brit awards 1995 they were getting lifetime achievement award. They had the whole place dancing. Amazing, and you nailed the drums 🥁 buddy 👌 😎
