Thanks for this, Todd. Of all the Elise coverage you’ve provided over the years, you continue to deliver new perspectives. Wonderful take on a deservedly treasured car.
We need to get your Elise off those big sweepers and down a road like CA 236 in big basin park or CA-36 in Wildwood CA. Somewhere the tires get more of a workout than the engine.
The belt drives both cams from idle. What you probably mean is that the variable timing valve opens after some revs ir when engine is warm enough. Great car and enjoy it as much as you can. Great reviews and great show. Keep it up
Hi, from Japan!! What great engine sound. I can listen to it all day long. The car is absolutely an old car but still brilliant!! I’m looking forward to listening and watching the next coming Evora and Emira!! The two cars are coming, right?? Oops, Emira has been done before.
This is really making me look at Elises and Exiges... I was quite close to buying an Exige 260 a while back, life got in the way, but now I could potentially look at one of these =P
I have this same car, same color and everything. Love it. Mines at around 23,000 miles. Do u have the Sport exhaust? I added that and the sound is epic, especially on decel. I'll never sell mine 😂 even though its the most annoying car to take to gas stations because it gets too much attention. Road trip it to The Dragon. Perfect car for that tight twisty style road!
I love my Exige, tbh it’s the lowest power car I’ve had for many years but it’s the one that makes me laugh and smile the most, isn’t that what its all about?
I sold my Cayman 987.1 Base model and thought I wanted an Elise, partly due to your reviews. Had access to an Opel Speedster for a couple of days and took my wife round the block, she got out and said if I bought it I’d be driving alone! Realised the use case for Elise is a youngish person, driving alone on a sunny day for no more than 2 hours, no luggage. Way too extreme for me, just bought another 987.1 Cayman!
You better had do a testdrive before selling your Cayman. I have a 2006 Elise S2 R with the oem supercharger kit built on it and do day trips of 12 hours and over 600 kilometers from the Netherlands to the German Eifel hills and Luxemburg.
@@TestDriveVideosmy understanding is it’s required to be installed for structural integrity of the hard top (to prevent it getting ripped off at high speeds).
This car saved Lotus for over 2 decades. Watching the brand try to stake a claim in the modern market is sort of annoying. Part of me hopes they fail and have to go crawling back to the Elise and its irresistible recipe.
Ah man. Ur killing me here 😫. What a blessing it must be to own possibly the best handling 4 wheeled vehicle ever built.
Watching this on my 150” projection screen up in my FanCave and it literally feels like I am INSIDE the car with you… so much fun!!
Thanks guys

Thanks for the ride along. Driving a Lotus on a road like that looks like something that should be on my bucket list.
I love that you love your car. Seems like a blast to drive.
This was great, what a special car. Listening and watching you guys over the years makes me want a Lotus Elise. Definitely buying one in the future

Thanks for taking us for a drive with you and your car.
Thanks for treating the cyclists with respect - Cyclist and fellow Elise owner. BTW, add the supercharger, makes the power so much more usable :D
Excited for 3 POV vids on a row of Lotii

Excellent video, EDD!

Love the lotus content! For the guy reading off a spec sheet... they just won't get it. You have to drive it.

This was the day 1 road from the Utah meet up last week, right? The first part and parking lot looks like it. So cool to have been there now!
Absolutely right! Glad to have had you with us!!

It really is just a toy. A 3rd car at best for me, but a lot of fun when called for.
@@kimchee411 For me it is a toy car too, my daily car is a Citroën C1.
I miss my exige... The gesr shifts weren't great I remember.. Guess I should have done that cable and engine mounts
I have the exige, the shift is ‘ok’ nothing to shout about it’s just very Toyota.
A lot more reflection of the dash on the windshield than I expected
You probably know this but the hard top is supposed to have a trim piece that covers that body color section at the leading edge of the windshield.
Todd has it, but the trim is falling off of it, so he left it off the last time he put the hardtop on. Thanks for watching!

Would love more vids on the gen2 twins.
But love all your content guys
4k home theater, Atmos upmixed! Looks and sounds great!
Would do anything for more back to basics cars like this (despite knowing that this kind of car is long gone)
Many daily triples today !
Damn lotus speedo gremlin where it fogs over 😅
awesome!!!!!
nice key shelf
Everything I need? I need 3 exhaust pulses per revolution and I'm only getting 2 🙃
I see you blurred the speedo. Wounder how fast? 😂
