Absolutely impressive!!! Your work is an inspiration! I have once the Testors Ferrari 288 GTO as a teenager but was lost during moving. Now I am 52 and feel moved to build it again after watching your video. Thanks for sharing!
Have had the Fujimi version of the 288 GTO recommended to me by fellow hobbyists, completed the 80’s Italeri version earlier this year. Superb results here!
You did it justice! The 288 GTO is also my favorite Ferrari. I have the Fujimi kit but it has an engine and the body is molded in red plastic. I want to paint my yellow and I am not sure how to avoid the bleed through. Thank you for sharing your build, I will for sure use it as reference when I decide to start my 288 GTO. Cheers!
thank you!😄 i think yellow is the good one!! 👍..my kit also include some engine parts, but the instruction didn't mention it...so I pass it!!😝...have fun ,enjoy it!!
I realize this question is 2 years old, but for future reference, pink primer is an ideal undercoat for yellow. It sounds counter-intuitive, I know, but it is the best way to go when painting yellow. Yellow over red would be horrible. Test it out for yourself on scrap plastic first and you will see what I say here is true.
unfortunately..this version of 288 gto model doesn't include engine... Relatively...I'm quite happy...after all, I know nothing about engines and I'm not very interested....
For me it is also one of the best Ferraris, by design. A good paint job, spectacular how fine and shiny the paint is. Where can you buy those Finisher's paints? I want to try them and they don't export them to my country. I live in Spain. Thanks and regards
thank you very much!!🙂 I got finisher's paints on internet..and I found it's easier to get in Asia.. Mr.color (lacquer base) C series is also a good choice..and they are much more easy to bought in worldwise... cheers!! have a nice day!!😊
Hey there! Gorgeous mode you just build! I have a question if i may, when you say thinning ratio, e.g. Is it 1 part thunner and 2 parts of paint? Or the ither way around?
Hi Mr. Lin´s, congratulations ! Beautiful model ! Can you tell me which engraving tool with which blade you used. Many thanks and greetings from Germany
thank you!! the engraving tool is from Mr.hobby GT65 Mr.Line Chisel w/0.3mm and 0.2mm Engraving Blade..they are quite handy.😊 happy modeling and have a nice day.
thank you!!😊 the kit's side indicators is a little bit huge to me..so I change it with 3D printed product made by Decalcas..I forgot to mention that in video..Glad you noticed this part!!👍
Mr Lin, please can I ask about your primer technique with Mr Surfacer 1200? How many primer coats do you do? Do you do spray mist and wet coats? Thank you.
hi, I spray primer just like paint, but just a bit thinner,I usually make sure the object is totally covered by primer,in normal condition, two layer of them would be fine ..😊
Very very very impressive ! Pity there’s no engine , transmission drive train detail by this model manufacturer, still a beautiful well detailed model you have posted , well done !
@@MRLINSSCALEMODELING Wow very very cool, I would never have thought of that. You've done fantastic work of a fantastic car. I'm hoping that you find time and interest in doing the 1/24 Fujimi F40 one day.
@@MRLINSSCALEMODELING Hi, I wanted to ask you if you dilute finisher's with their thinner or something else and what model of airbrush you use. Thank you.
I recently bought this kit and it included the engine. Although the manual did not included the engine build, so it was quitte a challenge to build the engine. The parts did not fit that well. The kit also had a seperate trunk and hood.
this kit got some spare parts.they looks like for the engine, some how the instruction dose not mention about it..I don't know why..maybe Fujimi got issues about engine..
thank you!!😊I usually thinning down the paint(about 1 part paint to 3-3.5 part thinner ),lower the air pressure(about 10-15 PSI),and shorten the distance between the object and airbrush..Of course the humidity and temperature of the environment are also key..I will make "tips and tricks"videos to discuss tools and skills I used in future...stay tuned 😊
the gap on the quarter window is necessary. It’s an hidden air intake for engine cooling. As on the subsequent Evoluzionne and F40. wow build! kudos!
thank you for the info ☺️
great step by step explanations, thank you
thank you very much!!😊
Wow, you are a god with your airbrush. Wonderful work 👍👍
Thank you very much!!
There is nothing more satisfying as removing masking on a car or aircraft model kit and seeing how great it looks
thank you!! 😊
Stunning. Looks like a real car.
Thank you very much!!😊
Funny, how much cool tricks I learned from this video! Great build, Chapeau!
thank you for watching!!😊I am glad my video is useful..😊
A great build of such an iconic car. Great work. 👍 ATB, John.

Excellent video and job building and painting your Fujimi Ferrari 288 GTO!
thank you very much!😄
Perfection! Ferraris are not my favorite subjects but now I want to build this one.
thank you!this kit is easy to build, somehow not easy to get.. hope you get it and enjoy it!!😊
Thank you so much for sharing your build! I certainly do like it!
thank you very much!!
Another fantastic model, as always I learned so much from your skill. Looking forward to the next one.
much appreciated😊 thank you for supporting from the beginning till now..stay tuned, working on next project!! 😄
Really beautiful Ferrari!
thank you my friend!!😊
Beautiful work. I have this one in my to build pile and this is a huge inspiration. Your work is always amazing.
thank you,I feel this kit is not so hard...have fun!!😊

I liked the seatbelt detail. You could be in Scale Auto Enthusiast with details like that. 3D decals.. new one for me. Look great.
thank you very much!!😊the decal I used got a thick clear resin coat on it, so it looks shiny and more three-dimensional..I like this effect 😄
Stunning work, always is. I’ve got the Fujimi 250GTO to build, if it comes out a tiny fraction of how good this is I’ll be happy, beautiful.
Absolutely stellar.
thank you very much!!😊
Well done.
Congratulations.

Your work is 1st class. Beautiful.
Why did you not build and install the engine and turbochargers?
unfortunately..this version of 288 gto model doesn't include engine...
Relatively...I'm quite happy...after all, I know nothing about engines and I'm not very interested....
This will always be my 2nd favorite Ferrari right behind the F40.
Thank you very much!!😄
Amazing, at first I thought you made a mistake by coloring the windshield pillars black, but then I saw they really are black on the 288 GTO.
Thank you very much!!
Great work!
thank you very much!!😊
i own the same kit too, a super car both in 1/24 and 1/1 🙂
an old kit,but pleasure to build!!

thank you!!😊
there are a lot of these aftermarket stuff on web store..take you time..you will find something very useful...
Great build. What is that u use to dispense the glue
thank you!!😊
the tool is a P.E set for apply C.A glue(you can search hobby web store for it ),I made some custom of it... a handy tool!!😄
Excelente trabajo!
Muchísimas gracias!!😊
ООО какая красотка получилась👍👍👍👍👍
большое спасибо😊
You did a great job, just should open the air vent on the rear, apart from that, perfect
thank you very much!!😄 about the rear vent..I thought about that... I feel it's too diffcult for me..😅..maybe next time..
have a nice day!!
Hey there! Gorgeous mode you just build! I have a question if i may, when you say thinning ratio, e.g. Is it 1 part thunner and 2 parts of paint? Or the ither way around?
thank you!😊
thinning ratio 1:3 means 1part of paint:3parts of thinner and so on...
Where did you get the Ferrari 3d decals please, I've looked everywhere for them 😔
Hi Mr. Lin´s, congratulations ! Beautiful model ! Can you tell me which engraving tool with which blade you used. Many thanks and greetings from Germany

B pillar window is open, to allow air to engine.
Can I please ask how you made the side indicators?
Awesome build as ever!

Excellent
thank you very much!!😄
Very nice.
thank you !!😄
Wow perfect build looks like die cast as usual ...no fitting chassis and body issue only on this fujimi model??
thank you!😄building this kit is much easier than the 246 GT..take your time, it would be fine😊
Sooooooo nice one of my favorite Ferraris also
thank you very much!😄
How do you take the tape residue off?
HI,usually I clean it with some TAMIYA X-20 thinner,sometimes I use 75% Ethanol
Mr Lin, please can I ask about your primer technique with Mr Surfacer 1200? How many primer coats do you do? Do you do spray mist and wet coats? Thank you.

I find your dry coat/wet coat technique very very interesting. Do you dry coat so that the wet coat has something to grab and doesn't run ?
Thank you!!😄yes, that is exactly what I try to do.. 😊

Where can i get the decal set
try search "custom model car decal" there are many of them
Hi, really well done! Where are you from and where do you buy finisher's paints? I have not found them in Europe. Thank you
Hi,I am from Taiwan, I got these paint on my local model shop and some web store, they are easy to get in Asia..
@@MRLINSSCALEMODELING Hi,
I wanted to ask you if you dilute finisher's with their thinner or something else and what model of airbrush you use. Thank you.
Awesome paint. It looks like that kit would allow for an engine to be installed. Did Fujimi offer an engine kit for it?
I recently bought this kit and it included the engine. Although the manual did not included the engine build, so it was quitte a challenge to build the engine. The parts did not fit that well.

FIANL?
Well done. The headlights look kinda bad. Apart from that, nice!
Thank you!!
8:11 there's some white appeared on the painting... incredible, it disappeared with the next step!
👍
Thank you!!😄
what is the length of the wheelbase in millimeters? thanks.
Hi,about 100 mm
@@MRLINSSCALEMODELING thanks
So hard to find this kit
yes, it is an old kit and not easy to get...😅
Excellent project! Btw, just want you to share how to avoid rough surface when air spray painting? Is the thinner not enough ?
