Thanks for watching my video! Glad you liked it! Neutral Tint is a watercolor made by Winsor & Newton. You could substitute this color with Payne’s Grey.
I felt very happy to watch this demonstration of making Magnolia flower . To begin with, I have learnt a lot, I shall like to watch it many more times to learn the finer aspects of this painting.
Your tutorial is wonderful! I am just starting to work in watercolor and both excited and scared. I'm a retired school teacher and can tell you, you are a fabulous teacher! I have learned so much from just watching this two part video. I can't wait to get out my paints! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
I have never painted a watercolour, but I thoroughly enjoyed watching you do this. Loved seeing the techniques that you used. Very beautiful and fabulous job on the video recording. Thanks!!
Hi Ross....I am a latecomer, having just seen this....but wanted to thank you for your patient and informed instruction. It’s a beautiful, detailed piece of work.
Hi Ross, I have always done pencil drawings and never used color, every time I did it was a mess. I tried color again and was about to give up. After watching your tutorials I am actually dong quit well and am excited to pursue my new journey with color. Thank- you so much for helping me not quit
I just discovered this tutorial - it is perfection! Your explanations and close ups are so helpful, and the finished result is wonderful! The color interaction is so pleasing!
I've watch these a couple of times and just love them...I hope you do more water coloring....I've just started water coloring and love...love...it...and I've learn so much just from you....please....please keep them coming....your technique makes so much sense...and I can understand them...thank you so...so...much...
thank you so much for your tutorial. It is the best I have ever watched in youtube. You pointed out the key points of watercoloring in your tutorial and you even listed down the colors you used during the tutorial, thank you so much. I have just started learning watercolor and your tutorial and technique is so inspiring. Enjoyed your tutorials a lot..... thanks from Hong Kong
Wow! That's amazing! I learned from these 2 videos about wotor colors more than 4 years in art school! many blessings and I will sure start to paint now :)
thanks Ross Barbera Thanks, I tried to repeat the work with your teaching, you are a great teacher, very educational and I have learned a lot about colors. I'm very grateful.
fantastic! Thank yo so much. You are an excellent teacher. I love the subtle changes in the flower and the strong electric contrast in the background. The idea of the painted border with salt is nice. Taking the flower, leaf and branch section by section and using water to blend, lift, and flow the colors is brilliant!
Bravo...Yours are the best instructional watercolour videos that I have come across, both on here and on professional DVD's. (And I have watched many!) Totally absorbing and informative. Will be looking out for more in the future from you. Excellent!
You're a wonderful, wonderful instructor. I am a fan and looking forward to buying tutorials once you make them available. I enjoyed this video and the others quite a bit. Thank you for posting a video that is actually useful and educational.
Excellent quality instruction. It's the best I've ever seen or heard even with live instruction! Thanks so much. I had just painted a white lily flower but after watching your video I feel like I've learned so much that I could have done, and will do to paint better shadows and lines in the future. Thanks so much! Looking forward to watching more.
Hi Ross I can't tell you how happy I am that you made these two videos! I've watched dozens of tutorials and not learned near as much as with these two of yours. I love the way you explain each step and every little detail. Two examples that suddenly make sense to me are 1) the water pushes the colour out, 2)how to make the really sharp lines. I'm sure it's second nature to you, but these things frustrated me. Now I want to keep trying! Thank you so much! ~*Amy*~ p.s. LOVE your accent
Stunning!! my dear Ross! What a great work you do!!! I love so much see you painting!!! Thank you so much for all the Beauty you share! I learn a lot with you!!
Thank you so much for your wonderfully informant water colour lessons. I have in the past always used oils or acrylics and have been most reluctant to attempt a painting in watercolour as one is unable to cover up any mistakes. You have certainly inspired me to give it a try. Warm regards Delyse Ramos
Wonderful videos...please do more!.....I love your colour choices with the rich darks that really make the magnolia 'pop' out!.Many thanks for the excellent quality of the video!...jane

Thank you, thank you, thank you. By far the best tutorial I have seen on You Tube. Very detailed. It makes a nice change from the speed painting tutorials. I have just finished a picture of a magnolia and wish I'd seen this video beforehand! Can't wait to have another go using your techniques.
This was a great tutorial! With the techniques you demonstrated, I'm inspired, and feel very encouraged about my next piece I've been planning. Thank you for your generosity in sharing this gift with us here! I'm really looking forward to trying these techniques out :) Peace and Good
Thank you Ross for sharing your talent. I've just watched parts 1 & 2 & learnt so much. How you blend your colours by wetting each section first was brilliant & I've been wondering how you get the blurry background for ages, & now I know how it's done I can't wait to give it a try. Thank you so much once again.Best wishes from Ian.
thanks so much for sharing your work, which is gorgeous. i have learned a lot from your techniques,i have been trying for 3 years off and on,and i know it isnt easy if you are heavy handed as i am..again ,thanks so much, betty
