While Bowser's down-smash may be an insane buff, have you played against a good bowser main? Bowser's neutral-B does like 50 damage if he catches you in it both onstage and offstage, and shield-pokes you if you dare try to block it. It's basically fully charged Piranha Plant side-b except it actually has hitstun and he doesn't even need to charge it.
Oh yeah, Bowser's neutral B is _crazy_ this time around, but it was already at least solid in Smash 4 where his down smash change basically added a new, good move to his kit. He was one of the characters I went back and forth on the most though, along with Ganon and Link.
Honestly,K rool gun is good but the crown is way better and 300x more oppressive.But as a K rool main I often do crown -> Gun só yeah he just has a really impressive projectile game Edit:still don’t think neither of them is the best of the game
It's a move that gives you buffed stats and allows Wii fit to do some serious damage, overall Wii fit getting faster moves fixed hitboxes up tilt invincibility and a solid combo game may be one of the most buffed characters, still struggles against small characters so still some issues

Wii Fit Mainer Here. Deep Breathing its cool 8) Literally buffs WFTrainer so bad♡ But tbh im personally a fan of spamming balls and Saluting the sun☆ Hope she recovers the Hula Hoop that she had in smash4, playing with WFT is almost playing in the corner and spamming balls while recovering or doing deep breathing + balls + Hula Hoop So sad Nintendo nerfed one of the coolest thing of Wii Fit, but at the same time buffed them with Ultimate☆ Dont forget to drink water and do some exercises!♡
My only thing with this was that nair was pretty good in Smash4 as well. They just made a good move better. IMO the new aethercide mechanic is Ike's biggest change, because that's an entirely new option and makes him much safer offstage.
Smash Gambits Aethercide isn't new either. Nair into imagination was in Smash 4. Ike was just slow. You could say his Up-Air is the best change, but it is LITERALLY the same as his old one. (Start-up at 11 frames as well) For me, SPEED is his best change. His jumpsquat being 3 frames is important because he relies on Aerials.
@@luischeco3009 Aethercide is absolutely new. Ike died first every time in Smash4, no matter what. So anyone could just come up and poke you with any move, because if Ike tried to hail-mary aether before he could snap to the ledge, he died. Now on the last stock, you have to respect the aether possibility and outspace it. And the hitbox is much better on the new upair, so even though it has the same startup I wouldn't say it's the same :)
Personally, I would rather the Pokemon Change be mapped the same way Inkling refills her tank, that being shield and special. That way, they could have an actual fourth, or rather fifth, special move (basically, Charizard could have Rock Smash back).
@@nazukah2861 Ideas: Squirtle's could be a whirlpool. It would pull opponents in as a multi hit with some range then have a finishing hit with low knock back and end lag, allowing him to combo out of it. I'm debating whether or not to let it be charged to give it kill potential and a slightly bigger hitbox so that it can scoop people from the ledge. For Ivysaur, I was thinking of a healing move, Synthesis. It lets you heal for as long as you want as long as you don't cancel it or get hit. The catch? It can only be used once per stock.
Because people have to get punished for wanting to enjoy their fav character she needs to be buffed along with sheik they got ruined by this garbage balance team lmao
Well, I’m not sure if it’s his most buffed move. I mean, yes, it’s broken, but it was already really good in smash 4. It centralized his gameplay in 4, and it still does in ultimate. IMO, as a smash 4 Ike main (I don’t main him in ultimate no more, he’s too braindead), I’d say his most buffed move is up air. In SSB4, up air was a decent helicopter swing with a long lasting hitbox that killed early, but it was small and slow. It wasn’t a juggle tool, it was more of a mixup kill option that you rarely used instead of up smash/up tilt. In ultimate, they gave him Marth up air, except it’s way bigger than SSB4 Ike up air, faster than SSB4 Ike up air, it kills just as early as SSB4 Ike, you can combo start with it, and you can combo into it (yes you could combo into SSB4 Ike up air, but it had like a 3% window)
@@alolamao833 To be honest I can kind of agree to that. I've mained Ike since Brawl (Path of Radiance was and still is my favorite Fire Emblem, so him being in Smash was awesome.) and his Nair was never even a bad move. Sure, Nair wasn't Ike's entire gameplay in Brawl and Sm4sh, but it was still decent. Uair on the other hand I didn't really like. Memes aside, the Ike-copter is inferior in every single way to his new Uair.
You could also interpret Dark pit and Pit’s arrow difference as a reference to how DP’s main weapon is a *sniper staff* in his games (although I still wish they would just give it to him besides his final smash)
One thing I love about ulimate is how fair and diverse characters are. Also heavys are atucally viable! Especially Ike(high tier) and ganon(pretty good mid tier), hallelujah or hail satan for ganon case.
DK is one of the best heavies and he's way underrepresented. I think that a good DK is equal to an equally good Ganon just because of his combo game potential.
Bayonetta did have one buff, doesn't make up for her nerfs but... Bullet Climax is a rather solid edge-guarding tool that can kill when connecting to its sweet-spot.
For a balance team which balances a triple AAA game you would think they would know how to correctly nerf a character without giving it no good qualities LOOL
@@terrytaylor7036 She is. Sure, she isn't as horrible as say Bowser Jr., but she's still a combo-focused character who fails to secure combos. That's like Little Mac: Has no air game as a downside to focus on his ground game. Problem is, his ground game is mediocre as well while still having no air game whatsoever.
Dedede: Can now succccccccccc projectiles to send them back. I fought a snake once, and completely denied his Nikita Missile by spitting it back at him. Even though it made me fall under the stage if I was off the stage, Dedede can get back to the stage from down there with ease. And for some reason, if the missile went in through the top, it still got inhaled.
I love playing DDDs with chars like Wolf with a projectile + reflector, because just when they think they're smart by spitting my laser back at me I just reflect it and it deals insane damage. Serves them good for being so obnoxious with their crouch.
Sadly, both moves also had mechanical nerfs. Neutral b cannot be canceled, so you need to commit. And witch time is the slowest counter in the game, it takes years to come out so sometimes you still get hit. Not to mention the insane amount of end lag it has.
But it is only useful on standing opponents. Like wth. Why'd they make two different know backs for standing or airborne opponents. They should let both have the useful launch angle, considering how laggy and not useful the move is now.
It’s worth mentioning that on top of the Aura normalization that Lucario got, he also got insane mobility buffs. He moves a lot faster now and he has some of the best air speed among the entire roster. Also grab is definitely Pac’s best change but his forward air was also made into an incredibly broken move for literally no reason. It’s frame 5, combos into itself, sets up for jab lock combos starting at 20%, confirms into Key and other moves if they miss their tech, is a ridiculous edge guarding tool and can wall of pain like Puff’s F-Air offstage.
Don't Subscribe to me I mean it’s not the best but it’s not really that bad in this game, especially since he gets reward off of it and can force shields with his projectiles
This was a lot of fun. I loved the Ike clip though TBH I was hoping to hear you geek out about him a bit. But hey, we had Who Are Ultimate's Biggest Winners for that. XD Also I need to figure out what the heck attack cancelling is now and see if it helps with Ike's endlag issues at all. XD
One thing I really appreciate is how the clips show off some of the top players for almost all of the characters in this game. I guess it depends on the person, but I immediately recognized the likes of MVD, ESAM, HungryBox, Pink Fresh, Pink Menace, BestNess, and Awestin. Also, it's just awesome to see Awestin acknowledged among the ranks of some of these other very famous players given he can't go to most of the major tournaments. No matter who you play, odds are you're going to see someone you look up to.
THAT NEW INTRO GOD DAMN Hope you you're computer didn't wanna SD while making it this time. On a side note, I'm adore the needle storm angle change for sheik. I get she's no where near being good, but having the ability to stop a horizontal edge grab that leads to a kill move is amazing
*Other amazing veteran Changes* - Link's neutral air. God, this move is Fox's nair, except it shield stabs easily and confirms into a ton of things. It can even be used to edgeguard with the incredibly lingering hitbox. G&W's Up B. How could you forget this move? A frame 3 out of shield option that launches character up with G&W to start combos & escape shield pressure. Benefits very much so from air dodge being an option after it. Palutena's Neutral air. This move almost has it all! It shield pokes, shield stabs, crosses up, edgeguards, and even kills. Ivysaur's uair & dair. These moves only last 1 frame, but are massive death bubbles that control so much space and kill. Lucas's Zair being double jump cancellable. This enables Lucas to cancel his double jump's height gains in favor of a descending 9 frame startup disjoint that can combo into itself, drag characters from one side of the stage to the other, and lead to kill confirms. Understandable why PK freeze would get the slot. It single-handedly borks characters with lower execution requirements. Ice Climber's Squal Hammer & Blizzard (both climbers). Blizzard does a f*ck ton of shield damage for its startup of 16 frames and hit characters get encased in a mass of ice that can lead into more combos and kill confirms like desych u-tilt-uair or uair strings. Squal Hammer is a mobile toon link's grounded up-b (dealing 28%+ shield damage or 23% on non-shielding characters if all hits connect) & is surprisingly difficult to punish because of the good horizontal drift and only 28 frames on endlag. It even comes out in 10 frames. These options essentially punishes overzealous shielders if you get content shielding their aerials and pressure.
This is where I'd put a good Bayonetta change...if I had one! XD For real though I think the best change is that they made her actually fun to watch and route for now.
My favorite change for Bowser is... well, *everything* they did with side-b. It's a crazy fast grab at frame 6, a consistent guaranteed kill above 100, and looks so god damned badass now.
Kirby Sm4sh dash attack wasn't bad, it's better than Melee's where you can easily die using it, but Ultimate's good kill power and ability to cover the ledge for some time is great.
Have you seen his nair in smash 4 it was shit. It was a completely different move back then. They changed everything about his nair. It’s a direct buff not a engine buff.
Normally, I am not into watching videos about "competitive" Smash, but your style is pretty nice. Maybe it's the way you speak or the fact that you are quick and to the point, but I have enjoyed your videos. Nice work, Mockrock.
The enter the gungeon music was a nice choiche! DDD's crouch aside, D-tilt being essentially a quicker dash attack compensates his normal one which is a hard punish one and fixing that blindspot and it can kill is massive! In addition, jet hammer having some armour is a niche but appreciated mix ups for charachters who have weak combo starters! Also, Pac-Mans grab lasts so long and is so akward that it can sometimes catch spot dodges! Glad to see the followup to the video that made me discover you on reddit, and that it's as fun as expected!
The changes to PK Freeze turned Lucas from a character I largely ignored in Brawl and didn't bother downloading in Smash 4 to one of my favourite characters in Ultimate.
Maybe it isn't the best change, but my favorite change made to Yoshi is that now if you use yoshi's up b during a jump (grounded or double jump) you go way higher than you would normally. This makes it so yoshi can go super deep off stage to edge guard and as long as he has his double jump he is pretty much guaranteed to make it back on stage from almost anywhere
Little Mac’s recovery is honestly worse in this game. Not being able to side B again after getting hit like literally ANY OTHER CHARACTER is a massive nerf. One that being able to jump out of side B doesn’t make up for.
Bayonetta's witch time activation area is now twice as big, that's why you can see items being witch timed far more often now. Also, her side smash can now be angled downwards or upwards. Not a notable buff though, considering they're already quite large.
I know it’s a general change but the ability to charge shot in mid air and bombs bent proximity based now I’d argue are far better changes for Samus. Charge shot it now a super dangerous off stage tool and mix up on edge guards while bombs are now super dangerous ledge trapping tools that confirm into tons of kills options

Personally I think Mac's best buff is neutral B. It's now shield cancelable, has more armor, and can turn around. Basically this means Mac has an actual landing option and takes away certain characters playstyle (palutena, Pichu,etc) Side B is also a really good choice
His side b change isn't all that great. Sure it comes with the recovery benefit... But if you get hit after that? You don't get it back so you likely dead.

He only used it one in Uprising. But his other 3 Weapons in Chapter 6 should be in Smash.

You are right, but there is a catch: it takes longer to fully charge and you can't shield mid charge, so you have to commit to it

I fought a snake once, and completely denied his Nikita Missile by spitting it back at him. Even though it made me fall under the stage if I was off the stage, Dedede can get back to the stage from down there with ease. And for some reason, if the missile went in through the top, it still got inhaled.
I love playing DDDs with chars like Wolf with a projectile + reflector, because just when they think they're smart by spitting my laser back at me I just reflect it and it deals insane damage. Serves them good for being so obnoxious with their crouch.
unless you use the glitch that causes DDD to fire the projectile he inhales out of his ass which in my opinion is really funny

Both of these moves were reworked
Sadly, both moves also had mechanical nerfs. Neutral b cannot be canceled, so you need to commit. And witch time is the slowest counter in the game, it takes years to come out so sometimes you still get hit. Not to mention the insane amount of end lag it has.

But it is only useful on standing opponents. Like wth. Why'd they make two different know backs for standing or airborne opponents. They should let both have the useful launch angle, considering how laggy and not useful the move is now.
It’s worth mentioning that on top of the Aura normalization that Lucario got, he also got insane mobility buffs. He moves a lot faster now and he has some of the best air speed among the entire roster.
Also grab is definitely Pac’s best change but his forward air was also made into an incredibly broken move for literally no reason. It’s frame 5, combos into itself, sets up for jab lock combos starting at 20%, confirms into Key and other moves if they miss their tech, is a ridiculous edge guarding tool and can wall of pain like Puff’s F-Air offstage.
Don't Subscribe to me I mean it’s not the best but it’s not really that bad in this game, especially since he gets reward off of it and can force shields with his projectiles

This was a lot of fun. I loved the Ike clip though TBH I was hoping to hear you geek out about him a bit. But hey, we had Who Are Ultimate's Biggest Winners for that. XD
Also I need to figure out what the heck attack cancelling is now and see if it helps with Ike's endlag issues at all. XD

One thing I really appreciate is how the clips show off some of the top players for almost all of the characters in this game. I guess it depends on the person, but I immediately recognized the likes of MVD, ESAM, HungryBox, Pink Fresh, Pink Menace, BestNess, and Awestin. Also, it's just awesome to see Awestin acknowledged among the ranks of some of these other very famous players given he can't go to most of the major tournaments. No matter who you play, odds are you're going to see someone you look up to.
The worst change in Ultimate was buffing Yoshi
Snake, olimar, pokemon trainer, peach, sword charcters are all awful for yoshi to deal with.
Yoshi is far from broken, and is severely overrated.

On a side note, I'm adore the needle storm angle change for sheik. I get she's no where near being good, but having the ability to stop a horizontal edge grab that leads to a kill move is amazing
*Other amazing veteran Changes* - Link's neutral air. God, this move is Fox's nair, except it shield stabs easily and confirms into a ton of things. It can even be used to edgeguard with the incredibly lingering hitbox.
G&W's Up B. How could you forget this move? A frame 3 out of shield option that launches character up with G&W to start combos & escape shield pressure. Benefits very much so from air dodge being an option after it.
Palutena's Neutral air. This move almost has it all! It shield pokes, shield stabs, crosses up, edgeguards, and even kills.
Ivysaur's uair & dair. These moves only last 1 frame, but are massive death bubbles that control so much space and kill.
Lucas's Zair being double jump cancellable. This enables Lucas to cancel his double jump's height gains in favor of a descending 9 frame startup disjoint that can combo into itself, drag characters from one side of the stage to the other, and lead to kill confirms. Understandable why PK freeze would get the slot. It single-handedly borks characters with lower execution requirements.
Ice Climber's Squal Hammer & Blizzard (both climbers). Blizzard does a f*ck ton of shield damage for its startup of 16 frames and hit characters get encased in a mass of ice that can lead into more combos and kill confirms like desych u-tilt-uair or uair strings. Squal Hammer is a mobile toon link's grounded up-b (dealing 28%+ shield damage or 23% on non-shielding characters if all hits connect) & is surprisingly difficult to punish because of the good horizontal drift and only 28 frames on endlag. It even comes out in 10 frames. These options essentially punishes overzealous shielders if you get content shielding their aerials and pressure.
This is where I'd put a good Bayonetta change...if I had one! XD
For real though I think the best change is that they made her actually fun to watch and route for now.
She's the underdog now. Like it's actually too complicated to use her
My favorite change for Bowser is... well, *everything* they did with side-b. It's a crazy fast grab at frame 6, a consistent guaranteed kill above 100, and looks so god damned badass now.
Kirby Sm4sh dash attack wasn't bad, it's better than Melee's where you can easily die using it, but Ultimate's good kill power and ability to cover the ledge for some time is great.

DDD's crouch aside, D-tilt being essentially a quicker dash attack compensates his normal one which is a hard punish one and fixing that blindspot and it can kill is massive! In addition, jet hammer having some armour is a niche but appreciated mix ups for charachters who have weak combo starters!
Also, Pac-Mans grab lasts so long and is so akward that it can sometimes catch spot dodges!

The changes to PK Freeze turned Lucas from a character I largely ignored in Brawl and didn't bother downloading in Smash 4 to one of my favourite characters in Ultimate.

Maybe it isn't the best change, but my favorite change made to Yoshi is that now if you use yoshi's up b during a jump (grounded or double jump) you go way higher than you would normally. This makes it so yoshi can go super deep off stage to edge guard and as long as he has his double jump he is pretty much guaranteed to make it back on stage from almost anywhere

Little Mac’s recovery is honestly worse in this game. Not being able to side B again after getting hit like literally ANY OTHER CHARACTER is a massive nerf. One that being able to jump out of side B doesn’t make up for.

Bayonetta's witch time activation area is now twice as big, that's why you can see items being witch timed far more often now.
Also, her side smash can now be angled downwards or upwards. Not a notable buff though, considering they're already quite large.
The activation frames are very low and the end lag is huge so you can barely pull it off without missing it and getting punished

I know it’s a general change but the ability to charge shot in mid air and bombs bent proximity based now I’d argue are far better changes for Samus. Charge shot it now a super dangerous off stage tool and mix up on edge guards while bombs are now super dangerous ledge trapping tools that confirm into tons of kills options

Personally I think Mac's best buff is neutral B. It's now shield cancelable, has more armor, and can turn around.
Basically this means Mac has an actual landing option and takes away certain characters playstyle (palutena, Pichu,etc)
Side B is also a really good choice
His side b change isn't all that great. Sure it comes with the recovery benefit... But if you get hit after that? You don't get it back so you likely dead.
