My word of the year I haven't 100% decided on (opportunity, refresh or renew, balance). I am an Army Soldier but I will retire next Oct at 22 years. I'm married, I have a grandson, I have an Etsy shop, I have a book club, I have a part time job that's slowing turning into a full time job. I feel like I'm always busy or have stuff to do but don't get anything accomplished. And now I want to start a UA-cam channel. At first it was all about planners (so easily drawn in the rabbit hole). But since I am retiring next Oct I want to do a budget one to hold me accountable. The word Tardy will for sure be apart of that channel name because I always feel like I'm so tardy or behind on everything 😩.

I love your videos. I would suggest to put a small bowl on your desk with paperclips to bundle money in groups when you are doing your un-stuffing videos next December. $25 in ones, $100 in fives and tens, $500 in twenties. This makes it so much easier to count large amounts of money.
My word for the year is intentional. I had a vision board zoom meet up and worked on my board during a new moon. Loads of fun. I am currently working on my 2022 goals. I also have a UA-cam budgeting channel I started this year.

I was able to give my kids presents separately from their dad which is the first year I was able to. I have 5 kids and I gave all them $100 in gifts and I hope to double it next year! Wouldn’t be possible without budgeting

Hi! Im new at learning this sinking funds/cash envelopes. My question is - why not use the money saved for the specific categories ? Im not sure the point in specifying each category all year long if it all gets taken out at the end of the year. Please help. Thank you in advance!!
why not use the money saved for the specific categories ? It is. The medical envelope is used for medical bills. The Christmas envelope is for gifts. The Eating Out envelope is used for just that.

I'm hoping to start budgeting like this for 2022. I've been looking into it for awhile(and used to do something similar without knowing what it was), but with my wedding next year as well as wanting to buy a house in the nearish future, I figure I'd better start now. I don't make a whole lot, and sometimes struggle to pay rent and buy food, but that's why I want to start this.

"Acceptance" and "Be nice" are always good words for me. Accepting others for what they are not what I would like then to be. Be nice to everyone because they have different life experiences than I do.
My word for the year is resilience I want to be resilient with money I want to learn how to manage my budget as well as being able to save as much as I can. For the new year resolution I want to be more consistent as well with my overall health spend as much time with family make more memories because we never know when our last day is going to be
We had to postpone Christmas. My son and I got very ill and we were staying in my room, but now my daughter and the baby are both sick too. Flu was positive waiting on other results.

I am going to do some vlogging videos of me finding a permanent place and work as well as finishing high school because I'm currently living in a women's shelter. I'm also planning on doing some budgeting if I get my own place
I'm trying to start budgeting on here as well. I am stuffing and have been, but I don't always record it (I do have a few). I have an Etsy shop as well, but just have a few things on the shop. Working on more now. I also have my bills a month ahead and I got the idea to stuff the envelopes from you because I spend more than I should if the money is left in the bank.
I started my channel at the end of november and I just started with a lot of advent calendars. Next year I plan on starting 3 different kinds of video's on a weekly basis: monday will be a planning video, friday will be a budget stuffing video, and on wednesday I will get and do more extra's and random things, like EU shops on etsy I really like, haul videos, subscriptions, my sticker storage and organisation,... stuff like that. So a lot will change starting next month!
Envelope stuffing helps keep me ahead of the game. Good for you. The envelopes are part of my "no surprises" budget. Dentist envelope $40/month. $1200 for a root canal always comes at the wrong time. Now I have $1200 for the dentist. Best Wishes.

Sammy, I’m excited to see your first video! My best tip would be this: It’s not as much of a big scary deal as it feels before you do it. And also, you will get better and better, so be easy on yourself when videos aren’t perfect. (Mine never are 😂) And have fun! 💛

Hi! Im new at learning this sinking funds/cash envelopes. My question is - why not use the money saved for the specific categories ? Im not sure the point in specifying each category all year long if it all gets taken out at the end of the year. Please help. Thank you in advance!!

It is. The medical envelope is used for medical bills. The Christmas envelope is for gifts. The Eating Out envelope is used for just that.

I'm hoping to start budgeting like this for 2022. I've been looking into it for awhile(and used to do something similar without knowing what it was), but with my wedding next year as well as wanting to buy a house in the nearish future, I figure I'd better start now. I don't make a whole lot, and sometimes struggle to pay rent and buy food, but that's why I want to start this.

"Acceptance" and "Be nice" are always good words for me. Accepting others for what they are not what I would like then to be. Be nice to everyone because they have different life experiences than I do.

My word for the year is resilience I want to be resilient with money I want to learn how to manage my budget as well as being able to save as much as I can. For the new year resolution I want to be more consistent as well with my overall health spend as much time with family make more memories because we never know when our last day is going to be

We had to postpone Christmas. My son and I got very ill and we were staying in my room, but now my daughter and the baby are both sick too. Flu was positive waiting on other results.
Hey Jordan! I have a channel as well - budgeting. I do some of the same things that you do. I am excited about doing all my different saving challenges this year. I got addicted to stock piling cleaning and paper supplies for my home. This started with the pandemic. Now I cannot stop! My word for the year is determination!

I'm trying to start budgeting on here as well. I am stuffing and have been, but I don't always record it (I do have a few). I have an Etsy shop as well, but just have a few things on the shop. Working on more now. I also have my bills a month ahead and I got the idea to stuff the envelopes from you because I spend more than I should if the money is left in the bank.

I started my channel at the end of november and I just started with a lot of advent calendars. Next year I plan on starting 3 different kinds of video's on a weekly basis: monday will be a planning video, friday will be a budget stuffing video, and on wednesday I will get and do more extra's and random things, like EU shops on etsy I really like, haul videos, subscriptions, my sticker storage and organisation,... stuff like that. So a lot will change starting next month!
Newer to the budget thing. Envelope stuffing helps keep me ahead of the game. I've got to get 1 month ahead, since I like that idea.

Good for you. The envelopes are part of my "no surprises" budget. Dentist envelope $40/month. $1200 for a root canal always comes at the wrong time. Now I have $1200 for the dentist.
