I am SO sucked into the spark of the everflame series thus far this year. So far I’m at 22 books this year which is great for me compared to other years. I can’t wait to get to yours truly.
I’ve read like 18 this year but some of my favorites have been love on the brain, the last tale of the flower bride, murder on the orient express, and sorcery of thorns. I have been reading the throne of glass series too bc I was wanting to catch up on all her work but now idk if I want to continue. I just finished heir of fire a few weeks ago
I reallyyyy need to get to the Magnolia Parks universe!! And Paradise 1 is also staring at me from my kindle, I hope I get in the sci-fi mood soon! Also so ready for you to read more Robin Hobb, I might do a reread together with you if I am in the right mood. And no need to feel bad about the negativity, no light without darkness, we need that balance ;))) Hope the rest of the year treats you well 🥰🥰
Finally!!!! Thank you so much for saying that the Magnolia Parks series isn’t a romance. In my opinion, it’s commercial fiction with some romance included. I’m only in the first one, but it feels more like in depth character studies of Magnolia and BJ than a romance novel. I’d say it’s about as much of a romance as Wuthering Heights is, which is not at all.😂 When the Moon Hatched is on my TBR (thanks to you!), and I’ll probably be reading it soon. Also, thanks for the tip on not looking at the tropes. I’m starting to lean more and more towards that, as I feel like knowing all the tropes takes away some of the interest.
Totally agree on A Fate Inked in Blood! Can't remember the last time I was so annoyed with a character and didn't buy into the "love" either. Hoping to pick up When the Moon Hatched next month...so excited. My favourites so far are The Faithful and The Fallen series by John Gwyne, The Women by Kristin Hannah and The Tainted Cup by Robert Jackson Bennet. My least favourites are A Fate Inked in Blood and Icebreaker by Hannah Grace. Happy reading 😊
I've read 15 books so far this year. My favourite was The Tyranny of Faith which will probably stay my favourite book of the year as it's hard to imagine anything beating that. My least favourite book so far was Motherthing which I rated 4 stars at the time but I honestly can't remember much about it at all so I'm wondering if I should bump it down to 3 stars. Waterstones is doing a sprayed edge exclusive of When the Moon Hatched in June and I am very tempted...
I've read 14 books so far this year! Fav books of 2024 first quarter: Bride by Ali Hazelwood (5⭐️) and Powerless by Lauren Roberts (4.5⭐️) Biggest disappointment: Once Upon A Broken Heart Trilogy (3-2.5⭐️). I just couldn't get attached to the characters, or root for anyone. After all the online hype i had high expectations but i was so uninterested/bored. I would have just not finished it but after paying for the whole trilogy I felt like I had to get my money's worth lol. Right now I'm reading The Serpent & the Wings of Night, so far pretty good!
I've been in the habit lately of DNFing anything I strongly feel will be less than 3 or 4 stars. I have extremely limited free time and it won't be wasted on books I'm not enjoying. I love your brutally honest opinions 🔥
I've read 45 from different genres but my favorites keep ending up litfic. Stargazer by Laurie Petrou, Conversations with Friends by Sally Rooney, and Ripe by Sara Rose Etter.
The moment I saw The Fate inked in blood as worst book 2024 I was malicious joyfull. I have problem with her The Bridge Kingdom book. It is a 2✨️ book 😮💨 only because I was "ok let do this booktube rec" 😑 I chose so purly.
Here's my best books this quarter Tales of the body thief by Anne rice book 4 in the vampire chronicles Queen of the damned by Anne rice book 3 in the vampire chronicles Clytemnestra by constanza casanti Birthday girl by Penelope Douglas The hurricane wars by thea guanzon The urgent life by Bozoma saint John memoir My worst books are You again by kate goldbeck i just couldn't connect with it at times it was good but just felt flat

I’m feeling like AA will be in May!!
I honestly love your book roasts 😂 yes please, there’s so many books on my tbr and it helps so much to prioritize when someone is real about them!
I like that in reviews too!
Abby Jimenez does deep and beautiful and funny contemporary romance so well
Yes!!

Yes! They’re just perfection to me!
I love your reviews. You are so honest. In a world full of dishonest reviewing by people- Thank you 👏🔥
I’ve been absolutely loving Shogun! I think I’m about to dnf the second book in the Tearling trilogy though it’s ROUGH
I need to watch that!
@@BookswithBrittany Do read Shogun as well, I think you might like it!

Yes yes yes!
As of today I’ve read 37 and I’ve yet to read a 5 star 😅 however, my favorite has been a 4.5 which was “Creatures of Passage”!
I don’t know if I’ve heard of that one!
I've read 45 from different genres but my favorites keep ending up litfic. Stargazer by Laurie Petrou, Conversations with Friends by Sally Rooney, and Ripe by Sara Rose Etter.
I enjoy litfic from time to time too!
Did you see that they are doing a special (hardcover) edition of When the Moon Hatched to be released 9/3/24 🤗
Thanks for sharing this!
@fantasyawash I can't wait to see what the Special Edition looks like since the cover is already so stunning!
@@noelanikaanana who is releasing the special edition?
@@laurablakeauthor Barns and noble?
Amazon has it for preorder with a cover photo.
I read 30 books so far this year! My favorite was probably Jade City and my least favorite was Powerless by Lauren Roberts.
Jade city is so good!
When the Moon Hatched is probably my favorite so far! A Winter in New York was my least favorite by far. Hated every second of it.
I’m so glad you loved it too!
