Husker’s offseason tutorial: 1) Start a new franchise and turn “ignore budgets” on 2) Pay everybody whatever you want 3) Profit 😤😤😤 Jokes aside, MLB gotta have the most convoluted offseason process of any of the pro sports leagues, so videos like this are always going to have a use.
Great video breaking down the complicated off-season we know and love in the MLB! I knew all of these things but it’s nice to see you work through the contract renewable stuff because I’m always afraid of letting my guys go passed Nov 1st to have the chance at signing them to anything i decide so I always go 1 year at 80% if the salary or I buyout the renewable years at the 80% of the salary.
That's cool too! I actually watched Cane do his offseason and give arbitration guys 1 year at what they want as well as offering arbitration....thought that was interesting.
Video was very helpful, I’m glad I watched this before I finish the playoffs. I’m looking forward to the off-season I wanna get rid of players who get paid too much and not performing, for younger, cheaper and more productive players
I am running a franchise team on the tigers right now and I was wondering why I kept losing all my minor league players in the offseason XD, good information and good video. I was wondering though when offering a contract you can select a players "Role" that at a glance doesn't seem to do anything, from my own messing around with it I can just always select "Ace" or "Star" and pay every player less money, do either of those designations make a difference? Also just a quick vent but I find it very limiting how the trade system works, I am always restricted to a max of 3 players moving and can never include cash in the trade deal. Ive been playing since 2023 and just find it odd they have never included cash considerations in their trade deals when IRL that is a major part of how players get moved around the league.
Yea cash moving is something us franchise guys have begged for and NEVER received. Not sure we ever will. As for the roles, it's bougie and cosmetic. I usually am honest with the player for realism but yea you can offer whatever without consequences
Giving everyone a 15 year deal just cheeses the system - I doin't understand doing things like this with a sim franchise, but maybe people aren't playing sim franchises :p
No it doesn't because 95% of them don't accept the deal. You are required to offer a contract in the game in order to renew them. The main goal is really to get to that point and pay them 80% of the prior years salary (hence a paycut) which PLENTY of low budget teams do IRL
That's why you gotta watch the renewable contracts. Unfortunately, especially early in the franchise, you gotta keep some guys that you may not want. D potential guys. Older guys. All that.
It's all personal preference. The contract style doesn't increase or decrease player interest at all if you notice so it doesn't help get guys at all. Front load can help if you want to have him cheaper later and have more money to spend NOW, Back load can help if you don't have much to spend but have guys coming off the books later opening up budget. Normal is just him getting paid the same throughout. I usually go normal so my budget is constant.
the 1 thing that bothers me is we can't trade players who haven't signed yet in MLB The Show, even if their contract status is 'RNW" or 'ARB'. I should wait until pre-season to make a mega deal.
Most of the players that havent signed yet can be traded closer to the Winter Meetings in December. A few stragglers will hold out longer, but mostly by mid-December you're good to trade anyone
Is this only available only during the offseason?? I can’t extend during the season is ongoing??? Sorry I just bought THE SHOW 23 last week and wanna lock up my good players
Now that I have a understanding I went back and dismantle the A's I'ma build them up from the bottom up
Nice!

Thanks for this. The game just kind of throws you into this with no idea what to do.
Yea takes a good while to get used to baseball rules

I feel like I'm doing the off-season right until I start the next year and I don't have enough players for my triple A team or Double A
That's why you gotta watch the renewable contracts. Unfortunately, especially early in the franchise, you gotta keep some guys that you may not want. D potential guys. Older guys. All that.
I kid you not that’s the main issue I’m having also
@FranchiseGaming yeah that's probably where I messed up at, didn't want to keep Boo Boo 27 year old pitchers with D potential
Manually injuries does this work with play station 4 for 2023 and how do i do it thanks
I honestly don't know man. Haven't been on PS4 since MLB21
Any thoughts of the pay structure? Front back load or normal?

They don't take until preseason to sign though. But it does make sense. Can't trade players who aren't under contract.

Very informative
Thanks brother
Good work.
Thanks!

@@BryanStaysLifted420 you can during the season it's usually around the trade deadline where contract extensions should show
@@FranchiseGaming thank you very much
Bro I've wasted so much cap space on young rising stars just to lose them in their prime
Yea baseball doesn't work like other sports
The rule 5 draft is absolutely shit. Especially if you have a great team and minor league teams
It's designed to balance the power and keep teams from hoarding great players...it works as intended 😂😆
@@FranchiseGaming i don't see it as hoarding i see as developing for the future 🤣
@@raiderbear1 it can be both 😂😆😂
Just don't know how to create a stadium
Need PS5 or XSX
@@FranchiseGaming thanks mate. Well that's going to be a while before I get one of them🤣
This is SO cheesy. I mean it works… lol
