As a filmmaker myself I definitely resonate with you about being anxious before starting a project. After some self-evaluation, I realized that this anxiousness actually comes from uncertainties and worries about not being perfect. But just as you said at the end, we've finished so many impressive works already, and we're still the same or even better composers. So just lose the pressure of pursuing perfection, and be yourself as a creative and open-minded videographer :)

I've been to Kenya as well last October to shoot a project about Marathon Runners. I'll be back this year as well, this time with a clearer idea about what to do since my first trip was more run&gun, without any clue of what I was doing.

You do not suck at makug videos! Lol. I love the fact that your stories are so RAW, well produced but (at least seem) accurate to your true emotions. The very fact that you added that clip containing a blatant typo instead of using a different take goes to show that. You have taught me so much and I thank you for that. I feel what you were mentioning in the intro at least (as far as I am when wrighting this). Finding inspiration can sometimes just suck. Often it is when I least expect it that I come up with an actual video idea that I can legit do that fits with the style of content I want to do.

Dude I feel the same way each time I start something. I watch my other stuff and I'm like, how did I make that? I don't know if I can pull it off again. Constant doubt is a thing I've just gotten over as time goes on. Cause if I fail it doesn't really matter because I tried. Good pointers Danny but i heard you say something and I’m wondering how one would know this ahead of time? You said women are expected to be more reserved in that country. How would you know that, say if you’ve never been? I know you were in Uganda and that’s probably how you know, but that is definitely something one would need to know before interviewing or filming women. Just peaked my curiosity.
I did a pre interview with our lead subject who started the group. I also just knew from knowing some of the history of East African countries
